- The second part to a two part speaker swap. First was the Alnico Blue into the Vox. Now we take the Greenback from the Vox and attempt to put it in the HT-5......will there be success..?

How to swapp the speaker the amp is behind the front has the grill what a night mare. Also all the connections underneath maybe the drunk when they made this amp

The mounting holes for the speaker were half a bolt thickness smaller then the speaker going in. Given the value of the amp and that I can run a line out to a different speaker, I chose to leave the amp stock.....and sell the Greenback
@Varity Topic this amp is one of the first 12 inch models, just before the digital reverb.
From what I can tell, this is a 2009 model. The 10-inch speaker was only around a very short time. I feel marketing decided a 12-inch speaker would sell better. I feel, however, that a good 10-inch speaker actually would have been better given the dimensions of the cab. A celection V Type Jr 10-inch would be my first choice. As far as assuming the bolts for the new speaker would magically line up, it is an assumption based on the fact that sometime between 2015-2017, a limited run of these amps came with a Celestion V-30 The Greenback and the V-30 share the same speaker basket dimensions. So I figured the Blackbird 50 would, too. And it doesn't, about only by a couple of millimeters. You'd absolutely believe everything was the same size till you go to bolt it up. I don't 'think' Celestion is making these speakers. There would be no point. They would just provide their own, like the 70/80, etc, and are some extension cabs it could be. But this Blackbird 50. It's made by someone else..... The question is who. Amp is Chinese made, and it stands to reason the speaker factory is as well. Who other than Celestion has a plant over there?

Carlos Rojas, Yes and no. Speaker space and cord was not an issue.
The issue was mounting holes being a hair off on all sides.
Blackbird Speaker went back in and have since sold the Greenback Speaker that was supposed to go in
