That said, he's had insomnia his entire life; he literally _can't_ sleep at night. (Yes, of _course_ he even wrote a song about it.) That's one of the main reasons Channie's Room exists -- he couldn't sleep, and he wanted company at night and wanted to talk to anyone else who couldn't sleep. I've always suspected he might be like me, one of the exceptions to the solar programming. I had "insomnia" my entire life, absolutely could not (cannot) function at my best during the daytime, didn't start experiencing the standard "body waking up and hitting its peaks" things until the sun was going down, no matter what adjustments were made. Yet I generally slept just fine when left to function on my own, non-socially-mandated schedule, awake at night and asleep during the day. Turns out delayed sleep phase is a thing; our programming is just different. We're the minority of people who evolved to keep watch over the village at night or whatever. Anyway, with how consistent and persistent his sleep issues have always been, I genuinely suspect Chan might be programmed to be a night person and, because we pathologize everything that doesn't fit the arbitrary norm, thus has DSP. And there's other footage out there in random spots where he's just off by himself playing pied piper with whatever cats happen to have appeared out of nowhere. - 1:17:18 I assume the whole "live food" thing isn't helping, but I suspect his rampant fear of bugs -- any bugs, even ants -- is part of the problem. He's got his hands in a bowl full of what look and feel like gigantic, wiggling bugs, and he loses his sh1t when any creature smaller than a cat wiggles at him. - 1:21:47 This is an example of something both Seungmin and the others have commented on in the past: Seungmin in particular notices that Chan always puts himself last, gives everyone else the food first, lets them have all the bits he likes best and pretends he doesn't like those bits, etc. So Seungmin tries to stealthily return the care as much as he can, often with regards to food-related stuff. The next episode is adorable, btw. They're a mess.

Now _I_ want to go see what's new! As for anecdotal data, there was some peeking under the hood and, much to their chagrin, the docs had to agree that I did (do) indeed function much better at night -- more alert, more responsive, more coordinated, lower stress, etc. Basically I function at 2 am the way most "normal" people function at noon or whenever it is that morning people are at their best. I'm awake rn for unavoidable and annoying reasons, but I'd prefer not to be. Yeah, he really is. And I love them for all knowing and responding in their own way, whether it's Seungmin trying to stealth feed him, Felix giving him Aussie bro treatment, Han clowning for him, whatever. The roach can keep the place. - The chicken bothers them mostly because neither of those two can cook. Like, at all. So they've never handled food like that. They've never had to. First they had their parents, then they had JYP-BOB, and then they had takeout and Lee Know. And Changbin in particular is filthy rich; nobody made the princeling learn how to feed himself when he was growing up. Both of them do the apparently universal "I can throw food (that other people have prepared) onto a fire and grunt manfully" grilling thing, but that's pretty much it. If you eventually get around to watching stuff like Mysterious Kitchen or some of the vlives where they cook, you'll see a pattern of Lee Know doing what he did: watching them like a hawk and taking care of them by stepping in like a parent does when their eight-year-old has reached the limits of their skills. There's never a display of any kind, and he's never trying to one-up; he just quietly slides in and handles things so no one feels bad. This is the kind of stuff outsiders who call him mean don't get. - them: _literally dunking each bite of food in pure salt_ "We always seem to swell after eating. It's a mystery." - 21:43 Changbin's dead-eyed look in response to that terrible pun from Hyunjin was all over socmed three seconds after this aired. It was hilarious. - Chan is obviously their main all-around athlete. But Hyunjin is a really good swimmer and pretty good at soccer. Felix is a good swimmer and archer. Lee Know gives absolutely zero f*cks about most competitive athletics (you've witnessed his patented grandpa run), but he's gone dead-center in archery and is unnervingly strong in one-on-one contact competition. (Han is any theatre kid/choir geek/band nerd forced to endure PE class; the boy is _not_ made for competitive sports.) All of them have to be competitive in some form, or they wouldn't be where they are right now, but in terms of sports, Chan is the most competitive overall. The frustration of all the abysmal foot volleyball action was _killing_ him. Don't get me wrong -- he's a known klutz. But if you watch closely, you'll see his foot placement. Both times he fell, the others likely wouldn't have, but with the way his feet are naturally positioned, he doesn't have balance when turning like that.

He likes to make fun of them and play games etc.. but never once in this whole journey of getting to know them have I ever thought he was mean. @@melaniereacts Yeah, Lee Know gets done dirty by people who've never bothered to actually pay attention. It bugs the sh1t out of me. I mean, he literally just treats them the way a cat would. The cat loves his person. That doesn't mean he won't smack them if they annoy him, give them a death glare to remind them of their place in the world order, or amuse himself by pushing their buttons. 😆 I suspect that his legs might be part of why this kind of game isn't really his thing, but who knows how much of that is direct physiology, how much is the result of inexperience/lack of coordination because he had a harder time playing earlier in life and thus didn't develop the skills, and how much is simply being an introverted theatre kid who greatly enjoys impersonating a sloth. Probably all three to some extent. I've studied so much of his dancing trying to see if his legs affect it. Overall, they don't seem to. There's occasionally visual elements that don't quite match the others' simply because his feet fall into a different placement when they're all holding a position or whatever. But I think he's probably very used to unconsciously compensating. Even stuff like the Maniac drill spin, which is all about legs, seems fine; he actually gets it cleaner and more consistent than a lot of the others. Ten or twenty years down the road, the intoeing might start causing physical issues, but at the moment, as best I've been able to tell, he seems pretty unaffected, barring his utter inability to not embarrass himself in competitive sports. So I'm hoping that remains the case. Fwiw, along with being able to identify SKZ as a whole, among a crowd of idols, just by looking at their feet/shoes, we can usually ID Minsung among SKZ by looking for The Thighs and the Anime GF. (I had to know...I just searched and confirmed that, yes, "Han anime legs" will indeed get several yt results. I'm howling.)

So basically about your story eating food that u didn't like - SKZ had the same show in Japan where they were put on a same situation- there were 2 scenarios one , they had to drink this very bitter tea and as to avoid showing off as rude they had to drink it despite the taste , another scenario was they were given a defective chair where they literally had to use their legs as support while sitting down - it was hilarious but i felt really sorry for them - u have to see that .. my goodness..

Now since this is such a long video and I talk a lot I put my comments in sections TT Episode 10 I love these three episodes, they're so calm and it was good for them to get some time like this even tho there were filming. TT I grew up not eating any pork or shellfish ( kosher or hallah whichever) so it took me so long to get used to seeing them eat it. - Yeah, we all wish they had better sleeping habits. 😥 Especially Chan. Their schedules are nuts. That said, he's had insomnia his entire life; he literally _can't_ sleep at night. (Yes, of _course_ he even wrote a song about it.) That's one of the main reasons Channie's Room exists -- he couldn't sleep, and he wanted company at night and wanted to talk to anyone else who couldn't sleep. I've always suspected he might be like me, one of the exceptions to the solar programming. I had "insomnia" my entire life, absolutely could not (cannot) function at my best during the daytime, didn't start experiencing the standard "body waking up and hitting its peaks" things until the sun was going down, no matter what adjustments were made. Yet I generally slept just fine when left to function on my own, non-socially-mandated schedule, awake at night and asleep during the day. Turns out delayed sleep phase is a thing; our programming is just different. We're the minority of people who evolved to keep watch over the village at night or whatever. Anyway, with how consistent and persistent his sleep issues have always been, I genuinely suspect Chan might be programmed to be a night person and, because we pathologize everything that doesn't fit the arbitrary norm, thus has DSP. I mean, the crazy schedule and underlying anxiety and obsessiveness don't help, but still. (Fellow night people, join the resistance! 🌙) It's 11:30 am as I type this; after I finish watching, the last 20 minutes, I'm going to bed. (update: Now it's almost 1 in the afternoon, I'm finished, and it's bedtime. 😆)

These are my fave eps of the SKZ Code series! So nice to see them just get away for a while. Chan, Changbin, Hyunjin, and Seungmin seem to be pretty good at most sports, Chan is super competitive too. For Lee Know its kinda weird, he could be terrible but then as time goes on he quickly gets better. He always has luck on his side too. Poor Han is just hopeless lol
Yeah this was when we found out they moved into new dorms and were separated. I was so happy for them bc they deserved to have a bigger space and their own rooms for years now but I'll admit I was a little sad knowing they weren't all together. That old dorm with the crappy kitchen curtain was a hot mess but there were so many memories from that place. They're always sleeping over at each other's dorms now so I guess not much has really changed

I actually agreed with the members and came up with the same answer when they were being asked. Channie would be solid backup, but unless the situation required them to be very quiet, I'd go with Minsung first. If nothing else, unlike Chan, they'd be unlikely to unecessarily sacrifice themselves for you at the first opportunity and leave you on your own.

- Oh HELL no. I can't believe you're still recording from inside that apartment. I'd be on a different continent by now. The roach can keep the place.
- The chicken bothers them mostly because neither of those two can cook. Like, at all. So they've never handled food like that. They've never had to. First they had their parents, then they had JYP-BOB, and then they had takeout and Lee Know. And Changbin in particular is filthy rich; nobody made the princeling learn how to feed himself when he was growing up. Both of them do the apparently universal "I can throw food (that other people have prepared) onto a fire and grunt manfully" grilling thing, but that's pretty much it. They're both a wee bit delicate and pampered.
- 14:13 That blunt knife made me so nervous, especially handled by someone like Hyunjin (inexperienced _and_ accident prone). If you eventually get around to watching stuff like Mysterious Kitchen or some of the vlives where they cook, you'll see a pattern of Lee Know doing what he did: watching them like a hawk and taking care of them by stepping in like a parent does when their eight-year-old has reached the limits of their skills. There's never a display of any kind, and he's never trying to one-up; he just quietly slides in and handles things so no one feels bad. This is the kind of stuff outsiders who call him mean don't get.

- Chan is obviously their main all-around athlete. But Hyunjin is a really good swimmer and pretty good at soccer. Felix is a good swimmer and archer. Lee Know gives absolutely zero f*cks about most competitive athletics (you've witnessed his patented grandpa run), but he's gone dead-center in archery and is unnervingly strong in one-on-one contact competition. (Han is any theatre kid/choir geek/band nerd forced to endure PE class; the boy is _not_ made for competitive sports.) All of them have to be competitive in some form, or they wouldn't be where they are right now, but in terms of sports, Chan is the most competitive overall. The frustration of all the abysmal foot volleyball action was _killing_ him. - Notice that the times Han falls, it's in the same way, in the same position, going the same direction? Don't get me wrong -- he's a known klutz. But if you watch closely, you'll see his foot placement. You've probably noticed his legs before, but if not, he's referred to as the anime girl or the one with anime-girl legs. He's noticeably intoed/pigeon-toed. Both times he fell, the others likely wouldn't have, but with the way his feet are naturally positioned, he doesn't have balance when turning like that.

14:13 - he is so protective over them. I don't get why people would ever call him mean. He likes to make fun of them and play games etc.. but never once in this whole journey of getting to know them have I ever thought he was mean. If you pay close enough attention which ppl clearly don't, you will see the ways he cares for them. It's never super super obvious though which is maybe why ppl miss it.
Ok just watched that clip of Chan playing foot volleyball and holy crap that was so entertaining haha... he thrives in these kind of things! you can see how much he genuinely enjoys playing! He is so good!
As for Han's legs. YES I have noticed. I couldn't tell if he was pigeoned toed or if he was slightly bow legged. I didn't notice that he falls the same way, I will have to go and watch again. Makes total sense though and I wonder if this is why he doesn't necessarily do well in these kind of games. I also wonder if it affects his dance? I mean, he is an insane dancer so I would think not??
@@melaniereacts Yeah, Lee Know gets done dirty by people who've never bothered to actually pay attention. It bugs the sh1t out of me. I mean, he literally just treats them the way a cat would. The cat loves his person. That doesn't mean he won't smack them if they annoy him, give them a death glare to remind them of their place in the world order, or amuse himself by pushing their buttons. 😆
I suspect that his legs might be part of why this kind of game isn't really his thing, but who knows how much of that is direct physiology, how much is the result of inexperience/lack of coordination because he had a harder time playing earlier in life and thus didn't develop the skills, and how much is simply being an introverted theatre kid who greatly enjoys impersonating a sloth. Probably all three to some extent.
I've studied so much of his dancing trying to see if his legs affect it. Overall, they don't seem to. There's occasionally visual elements that don't quite match the others' simply because his feet fall into a different placement when they're all holding a position or whatever. But I think he's probably very used to unconsciously compensating. Even stuff like the Maniac drill spin, which is all about legs, seems fine; he actually gets it cleaner and more consistent than a lot of the others.
Ten or twenty years down the road, the intoeing might start causing physical issues, but at the moment, as best I've been able to tell, he seems pretty unaffected, barring his utter inability to not embarrass himself in competitive sports. So I'm hoping that remains the case.
Fwiw, along with being able to identify SKZ as a whole, among a crowd of idols, just by looking at their feet/shoes, we can usually ID Minsung among SKZ by looking for The Thighs and the Anime GF. (I had to know...I just searched and confirmed that, yes, "Han anime legs" will indeed get several yt results. I'm howling.)

So basically about your story eating food that u didn't like - SKZ had the same show in Japan where they were put on a same situation- there were 2 scenarios one , they had to drink this very bitter tea and as to avoid showing off as rude they had to drink it despite the taste , another scenario was they were given a defective chair where they literally had to use their legs as support while sitting down - it was hilarious but i felt really sorry for them - u have to see that .. my goodness..

Answer: Red ginseng. It is immensely common in South Korea, and it's safe for both humans and pets. It's an herb that helps in many ways of the body, for both species so don't worry too much. 😭 It's so cute that he went and found stray cats to feed.

These episodes remind me of up all night and mysterious kitchen, where the respective pairs you see here reverse their roles. Chan, binne, seungmin and felix in up all night and lee know, han and IN in mysterious kitchen. Our hyune was supposed to be there as well but you know 😔

I love these three episodes, they're so calm and it was good for them to get some time like this even tho there were filming. TT I grew up not eating any pork or shellfish ( kosher or hallah whichever) so it took me so long to get used to seeing them eat it. Shellfish and squid and all of that dont bother me anymore but the thought of eat pork 💀😟 no bueno. Hannie is so cute, he's not good with balls.
