- Exploring the historical city of Ventura, California USA. Started the tour from Father Serra Cross Park located at the top of the hill where you can see the panoramic view of the city and ocean. Going downhill towards San Buenaventura Mission located along Main Street, where portion of it were closed to vehicles to allow outdoor dining. Finally, we'll visit the historic Ventura Pier which was built in 1872.
Ventura, officially the City of San Buenaventura, is the county seat of Ventura County, California, United States. Ventura lies between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara along U.S. Route 101, which was one of the original U.S. Routes. The highway is now known as the Ventura Freeway, but the original route through the town along Main Street has been designated El Camino Real, the historic pathway connecting the California missions.
Downtown Ventura is home to the Mission San Buenaventura, museums, galleries, dining, and shopping. Located in downtown is the historic Ortega Adobe, once home to the Ortega family known for chili products. Downtown Ventura is home to Ventura's ornate city hall with its statue of Junipero Serra. Downtown includes restaurants, wine bars, breweries, and the Rubicon Theatre Company.

I was hoping you would do Ventura. Thank you!
I'm a new subie of yours! 😁
I love Ventura. I was born there and it was a slice of heaven back in the day. I couldn't have been raised in a better place. Go Buena Go!!
I'm born and raised in Ventura and currently still living in Ventura. Great to place to live
You're lucky I love California , I live in Hell Paso.
@@lion-667 El Paso? Be grateful for your low cost of living
What makes it such a great place to live? Apart from the weather and natural beauty of course!
Beautiful walk! Thank you very much! Greetings from Sweden
I grew up here and never take it for granted. I absolutely LOVED this walk - it was SO relaxing to watch - gave me such a feeling of peace and calm, as if I was truly walking with you. Fantastic! I sent it to all of my friends on the East Coast!
Thank you! Glad you loved it.
So lovely! Thank you for sharing :)
Did you move away?
Wow nice view relaxing thanks for sharing
That’s beautiful Ventura!
Thank you Stan!
Thanks bro. It's already winter in my country, but thanks to you, I continue to walk in the sun and look at the ocean and the beach :)
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! I’m going to watch it all over again!! Thank you!,
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
So this is The Cross above Ventura. San Buenaventura Mission and China Ally note the river of life on the doors of the mission and the theme carried through the fountains. There are Chumash graves under parts of the mission. The Mission was just made a minor basilica by the pope. Main Street home of good Thrift stores and cute tourist shops. Great food and bars. I love the outdoor dining and hope it stays this way after the pandemic. Notice how lovely the sound of the street is without the cars, you can even hear bells. I hope Main Street never lets cars back on it again. Erle Stanley Gardner worked from an office on Main Street. His practice in Ventura was the inspiration for Perry Mason. The court house use to have actual jail cells in it. Jack Nicholson filmed some of The two Jakes there. Up in the back parking lot is a nice hiking trail back up to The Cross.
I visit Ventura once a month when I Navy drill at Port Hueneme. Did not know much about Ventura before my billet but, now......I look forward to my monthly trips. Hard to leave Ventura. God's country, really.
That was amazing. I was a long time resident of Ventura. It 1:25:20 was an artist haven. My Ventura Hot Glass Art Studio was a mile from the beach . Thanks for the memories. Ventura is looking better than ever!
watching this because I miss my home so much ❤️ I moved out of state 2 months ago, but nothing compares to the 805 and I’m moving back soon
We miss you too!
it's my screen saver and I love the scenery. So relaxing, makes me feel like I'm there.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoy it!
Thank you for posting, I lived near Ventura until age 12 in the 1990s. It brings back memories.
Miss your videos my friend 😍

Hi! From the old rugged cross all the way to the fishing pier, a lovely walk in the Californian weather. Watching again just now! Cheers Don ;-)

I'm mexican and I wanna live in Ventura it is my dream, because it's a calm city
As usual ... beautiful video. You make really beautiful videos. 👍
Thank you!!
Fantastic walking tour of our town. Thank you so much!
Awesome! Born and raised in Oxnard not far from Ventura. I’m living in Iowa now but I do miss my hometown.
Me too. Old St John's Hospital in 1960. I am still in Ventura. The Wagon Wheel bowl and roller rink are gone. The population of Oxnard has gone from 40,000 to 220,000 it's hardly recognizable.
Are you in Des Moines?
@@coolcarlosa66 Unfortunately not lol I live in Sioux City.
Love your videos man
great. so stay there!
Ventura is my hometown 🔥
So cool! Thank you for sharing
Beautiful place!👏😄
Nice video. I'd like to suggest you someday go walk all around the Ventura Harbor. Some great shopping areas there, beautiful harbor with lots of shops and the harbor walk is super nice and it's also a nice walk all along to the Channel Islands museum and then across over to the harbor beach front areas is really nice. Great views of the Channel Islands from the beach across from the harbor.
You want to have the best fried fish in the World you go to Brophy Bros (not Andria's Seafood but right across from there) right above Maggiano's at the harbor.
Will be posting it soon. Hope you subscribe to get notified.

I've been in Ventura 60 years.
317,000 Acres of grade 1 farmland.
33 private cattle ranches.
Biggest fishing industry on West Coast.
The largest single employer in Ventura is the naval base.( also home to the Seabees)
Undeniably the best weather in the world. Average 65 degrees year round.
Three different microclimates within the county. You can grow almost anything year round.
Cannabis grows well here. (See videos)
@@FionnghulaThell population of Ventura County in 1955 was about
150,000. Now it's close to 1 million!!!
@@FionnghulaThell The Wagon Wheel bowling alley and the 101 drive-in theater were brand new in your Mom's time. Great memories
Beautiful video. Anybody know what that is at 48:15. This was recorded during time they were tearing down statues. Was that the Junipero Serra statue? Didn't he found and name the city? He put up that cross on top of that hill overlooking the mission?
Born in Oxnard , California and lived in Ventura , California . As a kid
Hometown!!! Not like Oakland but I miss it😌
Hermoso lugar
In 1982, while I was a senior at Sophia University in Tokyo, I participated in a homestay program in Ventura for a few days. The home was situated in a suburban area, approximately a 30-minute car ride from the beach. I still vividly recall the enjoyable moments I shared with my host parents in Ventura. I wish to reconnect with them and express my gratitude, but unfortunately, I have misplaced all the photos and information I had about them. However, I do remember that the husband's name was Matthew, and the wife's name was George. Both of them were likely in their middle to late twenties and had met each other at Ventura College. If anyone has any information regarding their whereabouts, please kindly reach out to me. I currently reside in Japan.
Nice and Creative Videos, This is really my favorite channle.:).
I really glad to see your post and your world was so brilliant. 🌴🌴🌴
excellent and Much appreciated!!🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 from:
Ventura City Ventura
we also want videos after the rain !
Great video. Watch it often as I've been there and really like it a lot. One question: Near the beginning, while in the park with the cross, there is a constant low roar, almost like traffic or the ocean. Why is that? Seems odd to me. Thanks again for your videos!!
Thanks! Might be from the vehicles on Highway 101.

IF you dig BOMB fish tacos 🌮 and you’re venturing over into Ventura- go straight Spencer MacKenzie’s taco shop on Thompson Blvd!
So Fresh! So perfect. Enjoy!
Beach house is better. Ahi baby! Actually it’s a tie. Like em both
We love Spencer MacKenzies!
Wow its been awhile since I've left a comment but an hour long video when I'm typing this message it's currently 8:15am i would say grab the popcorn but it's way to early for that So all go grab some Cereal CTC is the best
Now I live in Klamath falls Oregon it has really cold winters
If you've lived in Ventura 30 years or more, you'll probably see like 10 people you know in a video like this!
I know were Buena Vista and Channel island Road is . used to hang out on the peir until 1 Am.
I live here and always will, although it is kinda expensive
👍👍
How do u make your livin there? At such a nice Place.. must be expensive??
Rent is so expensive! Worth it if you can afford it, but maybe that's why there are so many homeless!
Grow up in Ventura graduated FROM Ventura high school 1987 used to hang out on that pier until 1 a.m. used to be a Thrifty Drug store on Main Street my dad used to work there..when Ventura high school and Buena High school play their Brown Bowl football game Because my English teacher MS. Susan Brown died at the hands of a Drunk driver
👍
do a walk in thousand oaks
1:14:38 So cute! :>
Where's all the fruit trees and water fountains up there???
Never seen the whole main Street blocked
Art walk probly. They do it every year.
Probably will be blocked off permanently. It was blocked due to covid so people could dine in the streets.
Our Main St is blocked so the small businesses can remain open with CDC guidelines :)
At that corner use to be a good place to eat at ..used to be a Thriftys Drugs store the adult store is not there any more the whole main st is blocked off that is new used to hang at the library the theater is new
I was the high school girls basketball equipment manager Mr. Caochle was the coach he had one eye elected MS.Folks as Teacher oh the year
Ventura it never snows
Wrong live there it does snow ,storms bring don't last long
makes one in São Paulo Brazil
Looks cleaner than LA. Didn't see any homeless person
So many homeless in Ventura. It’s really bad.
It's not worse than any beach town in America.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩❤️💋
You know, videos like this bring the hoards up from LA to jam up the traffic and crowd up the beaches. It also inspires more people to move to Ventura.
It's already happening. I give it another year and Ventura will be just like all the LA county beach towns. Ruined.
Quit telling the world an it will stay great ,was beautiful 1964 lived
Yep here it is 2022 and all the housing built right up TO the sidewalks, like on Thompson, San Jon, Santa Clara St. The traffic is already getting thick with RUDE drivers that feel entitled, and gang and crime influence is bleeding over from neighboring cities/towns which I won't mention. Litter along beaches has increased, etc. as well as the rents and the greed. It makes me so sick and so sad to see this beautiful city turning in to a trashy one.
Oh be quiet..
They didn't show all the bums at the park or on the main Street. Or how dirty the city really is
мы чем-то похожи простые люди,а вот ваша верхушка нас не хочет нас равными.Sevastopol Russia🤗🤗🤗

😇
All the faces are different
Be careful the homeless don’t stab you in the neck and kill you like one did to a man with his family that were having dinner ne
Nothing compared to Florida. Plus, considering that Newsom won the recall, I just pass any opportunity to live there. Thanks but NO!
Live here. Don't come here kooks
Not a good place to surf. Looks rather boring
