1:33 when the mood changed there it was so refreshing especially with the violins playing such a nice accompaniment and when A5 was played there it was so satisfying😩👌🏽
All wonderful and moving. I often think this is one the most beautiful II movement ever... maybe also one of the most beautiful music piece ever... Love this video😍🎼
Such a beautiful movement, and really well-played! That bit around the 5’50” mark always gets me - such amazing orchestration to reduce it down to the minimum - pizzicato strings and barely there piano, then adding masterful wind writing before bringing everything back in again.
Beautiful playing for a beautiful piece of music! I’ve been learning this piece and I’ve used your video countless times to help me, so thank you for making this :)
You are extraordinarily talented if you started practising piano when you were 37 years old. Congratulations on your recordings 👍, you always play with great intimate feeling and this is the most important thing to make sure that the music reaches the listener. I did not know the programme Tomplay, I like it. All the best 🍀
Thank you so much for this. It's brilliant for three reason 1. You play beautifully, 2. The score is numbered which is so important for exams. 3. You pause while the other instruments take over. I hope you do the other two movements too - will check with fingers crossed.. Thank you!
Really good. Love this piece. I'm seriously thinking of subscribing to Tomplay - seems like a great idea. I already have Pianoteq Stage / Play (the cheapest version) and that is very interesting software too.
I'm working on a solo adaptation. Here's what mine might sound like:drive.google.com/file/d/1j90pMp8qZ5TVJPFwv-6gm_IkAje_2XKg/view?usp=sharing The little orchestra you hear will be played by the piano. I may change this arrangement because I feel it may need more of the orchestra section, but this version is 1/2 the length and time of the original.
Here's a more complete solo version, but I feel the left hand is too busy, and destroys the mood. I may adapt this with a simpler left hand that keeps the entire piece more pensive. ruclips.net/video/YRLS-IkLh3A/видео.html
Here's my version as a .pdf It's slightly simpler than other versions on Musescore. I tried to keep the mood more pensive and in line with the opening. drive.google.com/file/d/1lRb893QisQpSbim3B5OJzjE38pSLWf_B/view?usp=sharing
I’m looking at getting pianoteq so this was very helpful. The bluthner sound is amazing. Can I ask how you record the tomplay orchestral and you playing. I’m looking at getting tomplay too....so your video was perfect for me! Many thanks and excellent video!👏🏼💜🙏🏼🎹
Hi, I use Tomplay on the iPad. To record the audio of Tomplay I connect the audio output (headphone) of the iPad with the audio input of my soundcard of my pc and record it with a sequencer program (Sonar). Then I record the piano on the pc to this audio track in my sequencer programm and mix them to a final track. Best regards, Dave
The piano controller is Kawai VPC1. But it's only a controller with no sound. The sound comes from the Pianoteq software. I used a customized Blüthner sound.
Beautiful and amazing playing, but maybe it's a little to much resonance? (Which doesn't mach the orchestra's level of resonance) if you have pianoteq pro there's a lot to calibrate and maybe you find this to be good, I guess it's preference
Amazing performance David, this concerto is one of my favorites. On question, how do you get your setup to show the sheet while you play in this way with the bar following through?
The piano notation and the orchestra accompaniment is by Tomplay (Tombooks). To make this video with my one playing and the piano sheet at the same time I had to use video software. First I recorded and exported the screen of the piano sheet and then combined it with my playing. Best regards, Dave
Hi Michal, thank you very much. It's a customised Blüthner of Pianotheq. Do you also play Pianoteq? I can send you the fpx file, but I need your e-mail address. Best regards, Dave
@@idaveit I will send you email adress on priv if I can find the option in new YT interface :) I've only tried trial version for now but when summer sale hits I will probably buy Pianoteq Pro. Also what is this orchestral accompaniament? Is it Music Minus One? Sounds lovely as well.
I have watched your video for many times now and installed tomplay as well. Do you know how to get the orchestra as a mp3 file of any other way so that i can put it underneath my MIDI file without pianoteq?? btw goood job!
Hi, in Tomplay you can choose to play only the orchestra without piano. Play this orchestra and record it at the same time via the audio output of your device on an extern audio recorder. Best regards, Dave
Just a couple days ago I mentioned to a friend how when this concerto was debuted the audience demanded the adagio be repeated. How many times when at a live performance I have wished a slow movement could be repeated! And, the Rachmaninov piano concerto #2 should always have the first movement repeated; first due to its beauty, secondly its brevity. Oh what a world! PWG
... I'm listening to this piece now for my daughter Ece !.. Greetings from Turkey !..
Thank you very much! Greetings from Switzerland.
The congruity with the orchestra is magnificent.
1:33 when the mood changed there it was so refreshing especially with the violins playing such a nice accompaniment and when A5 was played there it was so satisfying😩👌🏽
Thank you so much! Best regards, Dave
These are the subtle phrases Chopin used later on as well, no secret that Mozart was one of his heroes.
The violins bring an uplifting feeling
Why this doesn't have more views? This is completely amazing. Love it!!! ♥️
Yes, indeed. This is really amazing. Outstanding performance of this masterpiece.
Thank you so much!

Hi could you kindly share your pianoteq setup? I have a VPC1 and Pianoteq although couldn't quite dial in the sound. Amazing sound and great playing.
Hi, I can send you my pianoteq fx but I have to know your email address.
Vraiment 🙏
Can you share the orchestra accompaniment please?
Very nice 👏👏👏
Could you please share the sheet music which you use in the playing?
The piano notation and the orchestra accompaniment is by Tomplay (Tombooks). Best regards, Dave

i would absolutely love to play this on the piano. unfortunately, however, it is not a piano solo

Thank you, that's good. Actually the whole Adagio sounds in clear F# Minor (fis-moll).
Yes of course. The whole piano concerto consists of three part. While the Allegro is in A major, the Adagio is in f# minor, ... Best regards, Dave
Awesome. What Settings though? It sounds so lovely.

Hi Fernando. I use Windows 10. Sonar as sequencer and in this case Pianoteq. I use Tomplay on the iPad. Best regards, Dave
What app are you using for the orchestra mate
It’s amazing !
So I can play with it you know 😊
I play the violins, and after I play the piano above it

Quite lovely, you should have had a keyboard that would be able to play the orchestral parts, I have a Korg, Kronos 88 that can. still, lovely.
Thank you very much! A friend of mine has a Kronos, ..... it's great!
Hello. Is this music public domain? Can I use my project?
