You put a lot of thought and love into this album and it turned out beautiful! Using the paper to go along with the story is genius. I like your choice of dark brown paper underneath - my first thought was gingerbread and then you said it so I knew we were on the same train of thought. The brown looks perfect with that paper! TFS your talent!
This is such a nicely engineered mini album...with wonderful paper choices. Thanks for selecting gingerbread brown as the base for this mini. Black just doesn't seem "right" for a joyful Christmas album. Love the cover!! I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon watching the tutorials...looking forward to making this for my family, Thanks for taking the time to make this video. So glad I found your site...joining as a subscriber. Happy holly!
Oh, Martie, thank you for your wonderful comment! I'm glad you agree with the base color choice. I'm so used to seeing black or kraft. If you have any questions, just ask away and I will answer as best as I can :) and thanks for subscribing, too ;)
I know I'm late to this party but I love this album! love that it's made for 4x6 pics..especially love your use of theme! love the booklet pull out idea .. can't wait to make this!
Hi Mandy, Thanks you! It is a fun Collection to play with. I will be getting more 12x12 pads of this in my store Scrapbookmaven.com in the next few weeks if you are not in a hurry. Or check around the internet. I also have the New G45 and Marion Smith Collections available for Preorder, if you are interested. I offer preorders at a discount to ease the pain of waiting until they ship out ;)
Scrapbook Maven Hi Thank you. I am in the UK. Craft products are less expensive in the USA, and you generally have more choice. But unfortunately shipping is usually high, and we can get customs charges on top.
mandy capaldi Yes shipping is a bummer. Hopefully, there will be a Scrapbookmaven.com sale on products that will be worth the shipping for you. The flat rate boxes can come in handy when you save up your wishlist and order a bunch at once. Good luck and Happy scrapping!
This is the best album I've seen - in particular I love that you have places for photos that don't cover up the beautiful papers. Awesome. I am going to have to try one like this. x
Wasn't sure I liked this paper until I saw your album. Now I'm headed back to my LSS for a 12x12 pad. Also, subscribed to see what other lovely creations you've made!
Just ordered my G45 paper...you're sure it's only "1" pad...??? Wow....I love this mini. It's beautiful...and just what I love. Now I have to just get the Brown paper. I'm so happy I saw this one....it's my favorite so far this year of any I've seen. I like simple and clean.....
Yep! One pad of paper made this mini plus the mini in the tutorial! (RUclips cut out a 50 minute chunk of Tutorial Part 2 so I am uploading a Part 2b to fill in the gap.) Love the albums on RUclips but can't afford to buy multiple pads of paper, so I like to make it look great with less. My albums are full of love, less of money :)
I know these videos are a year old, but I just keep being impressed with your clean and creative style as well as how well you articulate. I love that you use letter size paper as I have am abundance of that in different colors whereas my Michael's only carries black and white and hobby lobby has kraft. Did you do a tutorial on this album?
Thanks Danielle! I look forward to making some of your projects! I noticed the wet glue you use is Aileen's... Is that the regular quick dry glue or is it an acid free version?
Great mini! I have this paper and want very much to make a mini, just need to find a tutorial, as I want to make sure that I do these papers justice. TFS!
Thanks! There's lots a great tutorials out there on YT. I plan on making a tutorial of the this album using different paper soon. I also did a tutorial on my Eerie Tale Mini, if you're interested.
Hi Debbie! I just uploaded the tutorial on how I made the pages for my Eerie Tale Album, if you haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I would love to make more tutorials. Is there anything specifically about the mini album you would like to see a tutorial on or is it the whole album from start to finish you're interested in?
Thanks for getting back with me so quickly. I would of replied sooner but we lost power for over an hour...grrr. I'm interested in all of it. I'm new to crafting, and love all the flips and folds..:) not sure if I can do it but would love to try.
Scrapbook Maven I am very interested in how you made your flip up flaps. I love how the part that holds it to the page is hidden. A quick explanation would do for me- I am not new to crafting. Thanks. The album is lovely and your craftsmanship is superb.
Judi Taylor I will be doing a remake of this album to share. A quick explanation would be to determine the size flap you want, for example 4x6". Make it 4.5x6" and score at the 4", so you have a 4x6 with a half inch hinge flap. Taper the hinge flap. On your design paper make a slit just long enough to insert hinge, glue it down on the back and THEN glue the design paper to your page. Hopefully, what I wrote makes sense. The video will be more clear. :)
Very cute. I agree that it seems like a waste of designer paper to mat the photo mats. I am going to use your idea on the large pocket inserts I.e. using a folded mat. Another thing about not putting extra paper on photo mats is that it makes the album less bulky with more room for actual photos. Tis.
Thanks, Dianne! Yes, I am a little too practical sometimes, but it saves paper and it's all about the photos in the end, right? Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi there, just found you, love your album. I have just ordered the paper for this mini album but I know that I wouldn't be able to make it without watching your tutorial. I have spent hours searching the net for a christmas mini album and when I found yours I knew that I had found what I was looking for. Would love to be able to recreate it by just looking at it but I am reasonably new to scrapbooking and don't have much imagination. Do you think you will be doing this tutorial soon? Warm wishes Jan
Hi Jan, I'm so glad you like my album! I plan on starting the remake tomorrow. It takes me forever to edit video, so I will try and upload it bit by bit, maybe as soon as Friday/Sat for the cover and binding...I will be working with my leftovers, so hopefully there won't be too many substitutions ;)
I just discovered you on YT! Beautiful mini albums! Could you tell me about how many sheets of brown card stock you used to create the Night Before Christmas album. I usually create using black or craft cardstock, so I need to purchase some brown. Looking forward to watching the tutorial on how to make the album! Thank you for your help and sharing of such beautiful works!
Thanks, Cyndie! I used 12x12's but letter size would work well too, for this style. I used one sheet per page, two for the cover, and one for each insert, for a total of 12 (I think) I will know for sure once I remake and film it :)
Hi Cyndie, I've starting remaking the mini and I will be using letter size. I will be using about 20 letter size papers. That's that 12 for the base album and 8 plus for the flaps, etc. I am sure if you use 12x12 you will need less. Having extra on hand is always better as I did not back every tag with cardstock, which you may want to do. Also, I like extras as I always cut or score something wrong at some point ;)
Hi! I am totally impressed by your work and I'm so motivated to make my very first mini album. Where is the link to get the complete instructions with all the measurements and such. I can's seem to find it. I would be so appreciative if you could point me in the right direction. Thank you so much! Debbie A.
Hi Debbie! In the description box above I have the links to the video tutorials. I have only written the measurements out for the binding on my blog here: scrapbookmaven.com/blog/make-twas-night-christmas-mini-album/ I am partially remaking the mini for a friend and I will be following along with the video tutorials myself, LOL! For me, the video is better at explaining than in words, especially since the type of punch you use can make a difference in the measurements of your flaps. It's best to watch a step or two in advance, then rewind and playback to follow along. Good luck with your first mini! Take it step by step and don't get too caught up in perfect measurements and you will do fine :)
Thank you so much for the quick delivery on my order... WOW! love my papers!!!
You are so welcome! Don't your fingers just itch to get playing with them- Marion Smith makes gorgeous paper :)
I loved your mini album sooo beautiful paper and you make it soooo gorgeous.
Hugs Astrid
Thank you, Astrid!
Oh my gosh, absolutely beautiful! My new favorite! Merry Christmas.
Hi Carole! Thanks so much. Merry Christmas to you :)

+Jenney Garcia Erickson Thank you for your beautiful comments!
This album is fantastic. You did such a neat and clean job. Love the shutter idea!

Fashionably late :) Thank you for the wonderful comment. I hope you do make it and love it!
Very pretty album. I like that you didn't use too many embellishments. The paper is beautiful and speaks for itself.
Lovely Album. I would never of thought of using Brown with Christmas papers but I think it works perfectly. I NEED to buy this paper collection!

Thanks, Laura! I had a lot of fun making it and I hope you will, too!
This is beautiful. I too would love too know how you made this, especially the album itself and the binding.
