    Wow, this brings back memories! I was with Ourimbah 1 then, first truck on the left 10:00, and our Cat 9 on the right waiting for the fire to approach. It come in hot and fast!!

    I can remember this. I was 11 when this happened and I can remember listening to ABC Newcastle as it unfolded. I'm not sure if I was also listening to the RFS radio traffic or not, but it was still chaotic nonetheless. Even though I have radios that are capable of listening to the digital systems that the emergency services use now, I still kind of miss hearing the analogue radio traffic.

    we were in a fire like that in another county, fire was just crossing the road and we asked the ff's of that county why are you fighting the fire, they said it's to hot so i put my brush truck and we fought the fire before it spread any further. any way a fire chief was mad at us for stopping the fire from spreading.

    srsly I was 4 when it ignited, and i only lived 5km away from the actual fire front
