Arcane is an excellent series, would highly recommend watching regardless, apparently Vi and Caitlyn's scenes were essentially supposed to confirm that their relationship is Canon, especially since it's been *heavily* implied/hinted at in the Game the Series is based on for years now

frr, arcane is seriously amazing. their relationship is painted in a much clearer light than the short clips, and the scenes make more sense. not to mention the storyline and the ending ruined me for weeks after i watched it
My theory is Mak wasn't simping over the Arcane scenes because Vi is really the most simpable character in the show, but Mak IS Vi, so of course she wasn't going to simp over herself, lmao

For Vi and Caitlyns relationship, i recommend looking into their League Of Legends stories, and looking into their in game interactions. Theyve been a couple since their release. Arcane just kinda profits off it
It really has never been that explicit in League tbh, lore is not why people play the game most of the time, the characters in Arcane that directly come from the game were never as fleshed out as they are in Arcane, people at Riot have even said that they gave a lot of freedom to the producers of the show in terms of storytelling and characterization. So it's become part of the lore but it wasn't canon. Most people that love Arcane haven't played League, if they did they'd know that Riot has been highly problematic in regards to their female employees and only recently have been working on some minor queer visibility because the community as a whole is a pit of toxic masculinity. 'gay' is still routinely used as an insult in chat and as a female player you just get assumed to be either shit at the game or 'fishing for attention/money'. I really like what the animation studio that made Arcane did, the writers also did a phenomenal job, but it was a project almost entirely made separately from Riot. So if anyone profits off of this queer lovestory it would be Riot because they can both claim that they had no say in the story (when there's backlash) yet be applauded for the representation (when it's received positively). Riot doesn't deserve the praise imo.

It's not as popular now but Max and Chloe from the first Life is Strange is one of my favorite ships! 👹However it is not a show, it's a game, but it's story-telling game where it's almost like you're watching a movie.

arcane is worth every single second of its watch time, truly. i saw the scenes before watching the actual show and while i thought that they had pretty good chemistry, it doesn't compare to the way the show actually fleshes them out. this show is a piece of art and it highlights not just their romance and physical attraction but also a connection that transcends their polar opposite upbringings, despite the basis of the show really being about the conflict of those two sides. this show, warrior nun, and portrait of a lady on fire are my top three couples ever, and this is coming from someone who has seen an innumerable amount of queer media. truly worth the watch as understanding their relationship creates such a gorgeous story that i and others would love for you to experience
just to note for why Vi keeps calling Caitlyn "cupcake" its like a part of her theme as a character. In the game she sets cupcake traps to stun enemies in. I haven't seen Arcane yet so I don't know how the ability is implemented in the show but I can imagine this is just their nod to that in-game ability. Also they're buddy cops so that explains their interactions a LOT.
Vi and cat’s relationship is getting set up in s1 and they could do that because they know they’re getting a s2 and so they can tell the story they want without rushing things. (That’s what I read anyway when it came out lol)
