Mower junkie that was a great copy you had there in BOSTON never New you was from there, don't they say SouthE or something like that, anyway it's happening over there , just wondering when the skip is going to happen over this way for us little fishes ,it was happening 3or4 days ago KATE was showing us on RUclips what a great set up she has , Anyway hope to hear you soon . Mower Junkie, Picked up one of these after your review video. Very impressed with the receiver in this little rig and the NRC noise reduction, almost as good as DSP, but, you’re right keep it low, maybe 1 or 2. Programming is easy with the software. It is not a 7300 but then it is 300 bucks. A lot of bang for the buck. Have not tried 15 meters yet, so the jury is still out on that one. I suspect it will perform as well there too, i just wish the frequency coverage was continuous between 15 & 12 meters. It cuts off at 21.500.00 MHz instead of covering straight through. Mine was NOT free. i paid for mine. Thanks for these videos. 73’
Awesome! I've done a lot of receiver comparison tests, and so far, my QT60 and QT80 have the best receivers in my collection. BTW, I got the QT60 for free too! lol. Thanks for watching, Enjoy the hobby!
@@MowerJunkie pretty impressive DX radio. The old radios certainly have their place in time. But, the technology has improved markedly over the years and makes for a much better radio experience today. I listened to your QSO with Kate, very clear audio even over a recording on the video. And, it is easy to program using the software. Another small note. The Anytone quad 6 doesn’t come with the programming cable. The Radio Oddity includes the programming cable. At least on Amazon. Thanks again. 73’.
I could hear you this morning 151 into the Green Mountains, very loud, I yelled for you a few times right after you talked with triple 7 from Mass but no luck on my end! Nice to hear or see your end of the radio / video. 73 Mr. Mower Junkie. 🏴☠14 Jolly Roger 8152

I started back on air after 30 years and the world was booming in and I could never get a contact outside of Europe so I got some power and then it was dead all summer, but the last week I have had , Australia, emirates, Papua New guinea, Germany and at last the USA, all best to everyone 26.oscar golf 44
Awesome! Just got mine hooked up. My first HF radio. Hating the s5-6 noise floor in my neighborhood though… gotta crank that rfgain down halfway to her to pick up some signals. Insanely cheap radio and blows my mind how well it performs.
I heard you this A.M. Mower Junky in Palm Springs, CA with around a 5x9 S units, called you a few times but condition weren't too great. Take care, UDX 4570 Palm Springs wavin 👋🤠🎙⚡️
@@MowerJunkie Oh Wow, yep you had a pretty good signal for a few. RF current is definitely a different character. Been to getting alot of the Carolinas the last few days. Maybe I'll catch you on the waves soon! Have a good one!✌️
I had an 11 meter call sign in the mid 70’s issued by the FCC, these days folks use area codes , birthdays, whatever etc, I love side band skip, I enjoyed ham radio myself, got into digital when it came out, but kinda lost interest though, 11 meter is hard to beat

I have a question using F instead of the D what the difference I use an anytone 666 I also have a Radioddity QT60 radio sounds great
VFO mode lets you scroll through all the frequencies without switching bands.

That’s the only problem with these modern units. The recieve is so sensitive they pick up any electrical interference

Are you making all these contacts on a dipole?
no, I'm using a 3 element Delta loop beam, It's a Maco VQ3.
@@MowerJunkie thank you. I made my first dipole last week.
How you get 11m call sign?
I think that you just make it up.
@@leos9865 i know that’s what you do with your handle but i wondered where you get the 3 digit number they keep saying or if that is just made up also
Same as a handle, pick any number you like.
