No literally 💀 I have a hole in each muffler and my flex pipe is rotted out. Makes the car kinda loud but it sounds nasty, I think I'm gonna get the pipe repaired and just do a muffler delete
@@isaacsosa979 about 85 bucks for the muffler delete still have the resonator. i also have a dod delete from diablo tuning. so v8 mode all the time. And a prted intake msd 8.5 wires.
Sounded alot better with just the muffler delete imo, not too loud and not too quiet. I would've left it like that but hey more power to the guy if that's what he likes:/
Thank for this video! I swapped my stock mufflers on my 2013 Impala for a pair of Flowmaster Super 44. But although it has some throatiness to it, it is still too quiet. I was afraid if I did more it would sound raspy or way too obnoxious, but I was wrong. Might have to go back to the muffler shop to delete the mufflers all together and maybe replace the resonator with a small bullet muffler.
I have a 2016 impala limited, so the old body style just continued as a police vehicle. I originally did the same muffler setup before taking the mufflers off for more noise. Then I still wanted a little bit more and decided to go with a 18" vibrant bottle style resonator. Sounds really good and doesnt have that annoying rasp.
Had my mufflers out for a bit and 3.5 inch flared tips added. Thinning about deleting all the cats and keeping the resonator to keep it from being so raspy but still very loud. Love the rumble on it so far.
From what I "heard" if you just remove the third cat it makes a bit of power cause it's unnecessary and very restrictive and it shouldn't trigger any unnecessary codes
@@Durkhead I’ll be honest. After deleting the third cat it does feel a bit faster. I did do a ecu reset when my battery died haha. Maybe Its a placebo but it does feel more open toward top end than usual
Wierd, I have a 2012 LT and I just did the muffler delete and kept the res on because I didn't want it to sound like a Honda when I got on the gas. Surprisingly mine was louder than I thought but still very smooth and not as high pitched because I decided to keep the res on. Also, if you swap the factory airbox for a K&N intake or just attach a conical air filter instead of the airbox, the exhaust note deepens substantially, giving the car a better growl!
Everything I did for a cone filter gave me a check engine light and an open loop with shit gas mileage and lower power. Not sure if it's just the old ox sensors not handling the easier flow or what but I ended up removing the restrictions in the box and swiss cheesed it and it's fine so no clue at this point and don't want to waste money changing shit if it's just gonna keep failing with everything I've tried so far. Sounds a bit nicer but still nothing compared to when the cone was on there. :
I have a 2018 impala premier with this same delete on it and I can say the car has a different tone then most especially in person I am one that hates ricey car sounds but this impala does not produce them with this exhaust setup.
If u put a K&N cool intake would u have miss fire cause u had to take the sensor out from the stock cool intake that’s what the guy at advance auto parts told me
As long as the sensor works, you can take the car to get tuned for the changes like the intake or exhaust mods. Adding stuff like that can throw a code because the ECU is trying to run car like it’s stock. When I put my intake on my camaro and I got muffler and resonator delete it sounded badass but I did lose power. I went to get the car tuned and it sounded much smoother and felt more responsive
I did it to my 15 limited. They are not to loud with muffler deletes. But I have a small leak at the resonator so I'm just going to delete that too. Mine has a half tune on it. No speed limiter, 7k rev limiter, and the transmission and cooling fans are played with . I had to change the fuel pump and I think the fuel pressure regulator is bad because it's been hard starting still.
I've been trying to decide if I want to get some Flowmaster, Borla, Magnaflow. I seen some prices for all 3 and by far I can have a custom set up with magnaflow for the cheapest. Honestyl I might just straight pipe the damn thing! It'll be cheaper and the car, like this one is 2012 but it isn't to me, worth the dollars to get any real performance for it.
