- Just a quick and dirty single-take playthrough I recorded for a fan who likes to cover our songs - but I figured everyone else might wanna see it too!

I just have a few of these Korg Krosses that I play live with Alestorm, and then a Native Instruments S88 that's hooked up to my studio Mac. And a piano in my living room
I always love these videos. I was never good at keyboard or piano, so I've always admired those who were and it's cool to see the song played like this

Yeah the keyboard parts are in -4 to match the guitar tuning. Been that way since before I joined the band

What are the chances that the stems for these will be released on a USB drive?
Not this time; we didn't get the impression that anybody cared about those last time!

@@TheGameBoyss For sure! I can create new songs, mess around with the keyboards, drums, it's amazing. What would be more amazing is if these were available for download on their website or something for every album. I'd sit for hours and play with it.

hi, I'm trying to learn the song with my guitar and my recorder but seems like what I see dosen't looks like what I hear when I transpose it into tab so I was wondering if you where using any modulation on your keyboard or if i'm a just bad at what i'm doing?
Yeah every instrument is transposed to -4 for Alestorm songs, including the keyboards. That means your guitar should be in C standard tuning

@@ElliotVernonhey Elliot, I’ve just recently bought a new Kross 2 (mainly because I saw how well you performed with the older models) and can’t seem to get this transposition right. I’ve found the transpose page and set it from 0 to -4 but it sounds shocking. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? I know you put up a file with a bunch of the stuff you use for shows too, is there any way to import that directly into these keyboards or does it have to run off an external computer?

@@nankervisj if you bought a Kross 2 then no, unfortunately the files I use don't import for that keyboard. Kross 1 only.
about the transposing, are you sure you're transposing all of the programs with a combi? There are up to 16 sounds that make up one patch and if you only transpose one of them to -4 then yeah it'll sound bad. Alternatively just use the GLOBAL settings page to transpose the whole keyboard to -4
@@ElliotVernon ahh that’s disappointing. I’ve managed to find a couple of presets that sound similar which is a good start but I’ll have to do some refining once I learn how.
Worked out the transposing issue yesterday as well, turned out I was trying to do it through the wrong page. Went to global and it works fine. Now I’m able to actually learn by watching you play given I can’t really read sheet music, not that there seems to be any of that up on the net for your songs anyway.
Hopefully I can see you guys live one day, do you have any plans to do another Australian tour anytime soon?
