I know this is like 2 years old, but I just wanted to say, I've been diabetic for 22 years and been on MDI my whole life and this is honestly the most balanced view I've seen so far between the 2. I really appreciate that you've made this :)

My Omnipod Dash doesn't hold enough insulin and need to replace it every one to two days, not three is a pain. Am considering going back to the Insulin Pen.

Good info jazz. Another problem with pump is that few schools objected a child entering examination center of 10th 12th std and NEET and we had to literally fight with them. Our daughter vidhi was not allowed to enter somnath temple because of the "security" reason !!!! Despite explaining them what's pump and why it's essential to stay with her and can't be detached they remained in stubbornly denial mode and we had to cancel darshan in temple. Yes pumps are costly so are the consumables. Another problem I found in the pump is during summer heat of 40 plus, when a working person or a student is outdoor the insulin analogue in pump gets somewhat less efficient and they get high sugar and even ketones. Perhaps cooling pouch like that of pens or vials can be answer to that or some heat protecting ideas....With newer longer insulins like degludec and new upcoming ultra short acting insulins MDI will be little easier
Thanks for the informative video stay active stay blessed

I have been on the pump for almost 2 years and I just can’t get used to it, I REALLY wanna go back to my injections. I just think the pump it’s too much work for me, it stress me to no end. I’m just waiting for my A1C to be good and stable so that I can go back to my injections-pens. But I feel SOO guilt that I don’t like the pump, that I didn’t get used to it.

I can't decide between pens and pump. I have been a T1D for 5.5 years. The pens seem easier to use. My Endocrinologist isn't pushing for using one or the other.
The best piece of technology is the Dexcom G6. In 50 days my A1C is 6.9 from 7.9. I have no affiliation with Dexcom other than use the G6 and its apps. It is wonderful. Although, Dexcom can be a little slow for delivering transmitters. But, so far it has worked out okay.
    Stay healthy! :)

I’m 15 years old and I was diagnosed when I was 1 year old. And unfortunately there is no cure for diabetes. There’s no treatment that can cure diabetes, but you can always manage it. But remember, always talk with your endocrinologist.

totally depends on the pump you opt for. The medtronic pumps have much cheaper consumables but a higher one time cost .the omnipod or t-slim is opposite.. .
