Only one problem with the second tower light. For Red-Green colorblind people there isn't a way to visually differentiate green from red. (Regular tower lights, like traffic lights, have positional differentiation between the red and green lights.)
The nice thing about DIP packaged ICs is the fact that you can shove them into sockets. So if the DIP IC blows up, you pull it out and shove a new one into the socket. That's how I designed my prototype 12V LED strip dimmer, then decided to make a nice compact SMT version, because who cares if the diodes or 555 dies, just swap the whole tiny board. I really need to start learning the FTDI thing. Adjustable power brick... I feel like I'm gonna plug it in, forget it's set to 24V, and blow up something expensive like a NeoPixel strip. So I might get like 4 of them for each common voltage (3.3 5 12 24). Inexpensive compared to getting one each of a Mean Well brick.
Make it a 12v and make it waterproof and get rid of the multiple colors and flashing. Make white light and sell it to boaters. There's not a good boat light available.

That power supply works well with a TS100 soldering iron (which heats up faster at a full 24V)

Now i need a piece of code to sync this usb warning light to MS Teams to signal my coworkers...
Better to sync it to your issue tracker and just put it randomly near the QA testers.
