The thing that stands out for me is that they may not have been able to find one of the actual props of the TARDIS so decided to make their own, which is fine but it sort of looks like the person who made it isn't quite sure what it actually looks like

Unfortunately, much of Wendy's time as Zoe with Patrick Troughton wasn't seen here in the US (the B&W shows didn't air on PBS), but she's quite lovely and engaging. Nicola Bryant, as Peri, was something else in the 80's, and is still just amazing now; she has matured so well. Having fun seeing them again.

In 1983 she said there wasn't selfies then so shook their hand!
I have met many famous people since a small and had pics taken with them at the start as my dad took on his film cameras and then later on in the 80's a digital camera in 1988!
And a few of them like for example: Michael Ball turned the camera around to us both in the pic and said say cheese after his performance in Les Miserables lol

This is the first time in 60 years that I've seen Wendy Padbury who was Zoe gosh how the memories come flying back. I don't know that I can see the same problem as you.
They're asking them about present day, in lye of an anniversary, and reflecting on the past. That includes both the past and present and it seems both guests are able to tell quite a bit about their past or current thoughts and feelings.
So what is the issue? Should they have been acting as if Patrick Troughton were still the Doctor?
Pretend as if nary a year has passed?
