I may have commented before, but this is still in my rotation. It's so beautiful I get the chills when it comes on.

Jason and Adam Hurt both come at it from age old places through windows of fresh air and needed sunshine. Wonderfully hypnotic and beautiful.

Such dreamy goodness Jason has fashioned from this old time Appalachian fiddle tune... so sweet as it rolls along... reverberating upon itself.

A banjo alone sounds good, but when you add a guitar or fiddle or anything it creates a much more beautiful sound!

Yeah, you get a cleaner more delicate sound like that. Good for songs like this.

seems like a kind of tapestry of rolls, forward and backward in varying amounts, and pinches and whatnot. Three-finger, Scruggs-ish techniques, but disassembled and put together in a more subtle, and complex and unique way than a lot three-finger/Scruggs-style picking.

Anyone know what tuning this is in? Lovely!

  • @ArkRed1

Sounds a little like the tuning Hattie Stoneman used for her version Cumberland Gap.

Sounds good but I see no resemblance to Cumberland Gap. Should call it a new song if you’re not including lyrics
