    Matt’s durability test: I ran 30 miles in it and the outsole is still on, so it should last 300 miles for most people 😂

    Great overview, thanks! I understand you focused on 2024 shoes, but I personally would prefer to include also older shoes that are still available and relevant. AP3 is still making a lot of podiums, VF3 will be relevant for many athletes, and Nike pros seem to prefer the VF2 over the VF3. Would have been interesting to have them in the running as well to hear what you would recommend out of the entire market.
    Love the podcast, keep it up!

    Another awesome podcast. Yes, slow runners are better off with super trainers with more stability rather than top notch light unstable carbon plated race shoes.

    FWIW, having never heard of Anta, I looked them up and found they are the third largest sporting goods company in the world, behind only Nike and Adidas. They own many popular brands that everyone here will probably know.

    Interested in more information about how long you need to be in a shoe before racing in it. I know that is very individual but just the concept of 'adapting' to a particular shoe or being comfortable in it, prior to racing. I have a LOT of shoes I run in, both super and non-super. I'm 61, run 55-70mpw in 5 running days, take 1 day for cross training and gym and 1 day for complete rest. 1 days a week I do a WO and usually my LR (14-18 miles) has some intensity/quality work included. I routinely just rotate random shoes for my daily miles like the Prime X V1, Superblast, Invincible, Hyperion Max, Speed 3, Triumph 21, etc. Same with WO shoes, might be AF 3, VF 3, Adios Pro 3, Endorphin Pro 3, etc... I stay very healthy and uninjured but am starting to feel my hamstrings a bit more 4 weeks into this block. Just looking over some data and noticing I have used the Prime X quite a bit more than all the others. Do you think that shoe is shifting the load to my hamstrings and hip/glute area? If I did decide to just use the Prime X for daily miles, what kind of injury risks might I need to watch for? Also, I have the good fortune to be running most of my miles on groomed dirt roads where I live and do all my WOs on the roads, never going near the track. LOL Any ideas, thoughts, comments appreciated as I hope to stay injury free and, if the weather cooperates, attempt a sub 3 marathon in Chicago this fall.

    Quite intrigued by C202 5 GT, how would you compare it against adios pro 3 in terms of ride and performance for HM? Also I saw there is another pro model of the 5GT, not sure if you have experience with that?

    • @weiwei8072
      @weiwei8072 4 месяца назад

      C202 5 GT is for cadence runner with the typical scooped carbon plate like the metaspeed edge+ and vaporfly next% 2 it also has a dual density foam separated by the plate. The Pro model is i) more expensive ii) its more like the sky+ with a flat plate / more foam forefoot to increase stride iii) it has one foam
      Theres another one higher up in the series called C10 Pro, Bekele wore that model.

    Hey DOR, I'll answer the ANTA nomenclature question--it is undoubtedly very confusing for many runners.
    "Is there a non-GT version?"
    Yes, there is. Why? You may ask. Well, there are many factors at play but to simplify it, ANTA is trying to provide more specific products for different paces/runners--detailed explanation of ANTA's C family of shoes below👇🏽
    C10 PRO
    • This is what Bekele has been wearing to race since joining ANTA
    • Decoupled design
    C202 family
    • Now in it's 5th iteration, it has 4 variants that I'll list from highest to lowest in terms of price
    • This is ANTA's answer to the long-distance carbon-plated racer and all variants feature nitrogen-infused midsoles and a carbon fibre plate/shank
    C202 5 GT PRO
    • more aggressive tweaks to the GT
    C202 5 GT
    • 2-density nitrogen-infused midsole and a full-length plate
    C202 5
    • the base variant that has a full-length carbon fibre plate
    C202 5 LITE
    • lower stack, has a carbon fibre shank, and a generous amount of rubber on its outsole

    After feeling how hard rehabbing a mid-portion achilles tendinitis can be, insertional tendinitis is a new fear unlocked kind of thing. I guess the s&c is a bit different since going too hard on the eccentric may damage the calcaneus part too much? Would you still do bent-knee and straight-knee drops?

    Bekele wore Anta C10 at all his marathons since signing with Anta. It is their top tier marathon racer like Alpha is to Nike.

    • @RunNerds
      @RunNerds 4 месяца назад

      I don't think it's top tier. The C10 is designed for 5k-10k. The real top tier are C202 GT and C202 GT Pro.

    • @KT-ll4tn
      @KT-ll4tn 4 месяца назад

      When C10 was first released in China, Anta claimed it was designed for marathoners who are able to complete their marathons within 2h 30min. Thus it was the costliest when released together with the 5th C202 series of shoes. C202GT Pro and C202GT are more for the mass marathon runners. A bit like Vaporfly Elite is to C10 and Vaporfly 4% OG is to C202GT Pro/C202GT.

    • @RunNerds
      @RunNerds 4 месяца назад

      @@KT-ll4tn Simply because the C10 pro has a 30mm heel-22mm forefoot stack height and a firm but very bouncy foam (pretty similar to Powerrun HG). It's not a max stack and comfortable shoe like the Alphafly. Also take note that most pros prefer the Vapofly Next2 over the Alphafly.

    Replacement for endorphin pro 3 for HM, sky Paris or edge?

    • @dbo4506
      @dbo4506 4 месяца назад +1

      Endorphin pro 3 is my favourite race shoe. Not the fastest for me but stability and comfort is amazing and I don’t seem to get injured in that shoe whereas other shoes give me plantar fasciitis and Achilles issues. For me the Paris edge was the best for sure. I don’t like super shoes that make me run different to suit the shoe (alphafly are bouncy, Vaporfly make me want to hit the ground really hard and lengthen my stride etc). The sky Paris gave me similar vibes to the Vaporfly where I wanted to hit the ground harder and of a longer more powerful stride. The edge just makes me wanna tick my legs over with my natural gait which is what I like and it’s the same feel I got from the endorphin pro 3. That’s my experience with them anyway. How that applies to you 🤷‍♂️
