For many years I cooked turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, broccoli and cheese, peas, Brussels sprouts, fresh bread rolls, gravy and pies. Now that all the kids are grown, most of the time it is only hubby and me and our grown son. So now I just cook prime rib and baked potatoes for us. On the years when our daughters and 7 grandchildren can come, I cook it all!
I really like hearing about your life in Italy, Greta. It’s so interesting. And I like when you and Christopher visit and do videos there. Keep up the good work. Love you
I loved your story of how your father taught you to drive. It brought back many pleasant memories with my father teaching me to drive. My first car was a manual and I think it's a great skill. Best of luck to you!
For Christmas, I always make 4 stuffed roasting chickens, honey glazed ham with pineapples and maraschino cherries, Swedish meatballs and I make meat pies for each of my siblings to take home. For dessert I make coconut cream, lemon, cherry cheesecake, pumpkin and pecan pies with real whipping cream. Mind you I host a lot of ppl
My mom makes the best Salvadoran tamales that we have for breakfast with coffee. Then she makes a atol drink made out of ground up corn kernels so it turns into a thick drink that you cook up with cinammon and sugar it’s amazing. And sometimes she makes pupusas. So good
I usually make bolognese with pappardelle and homemade garlic focaccia, with a chocolate olive oil cake for dessert. It’s just me and my son, so it’s nice to do something non-traditional. I grew up in Minnesota, so every Christmas was usually ham and all the trimmings, but I grew away from that when I left and don’t regret it a bit.
1 year, when I was like 10 or 11 years old, I was able to visit my mother in England for Xmas and New Years. We had the best brunch at this restaurant in England on Xmas Day. It was bangers (english sausage. Totally beats American breakfast sausage imo) heinz beans (SO good and u can get them in the states!!) And of course eggs and toast. Yum. Best Xmas meal that I have ever had.
Yes greta my dad taught myself and my two sisters stick lol my husband at the the had no idea how to so i taught him and he was brought up in manhatten so that was a challenge
