Sorry for the comparison haaaa, I've been listening to KPOP for years including their live performances... pero wala pa 'kong naririnig na ganitong level kumanta. Yung pag kumanta sila ng ganito, di mo aakalaing POP group pala sila. Yung vocal range, harmonies, yung emotions... iba talaga e. Sana mas makilala pa ang PPOP natin. :( Solid sa talent e.

Try searching for Mamamoo, kpop’s vocal queens. They have Dingo Killing Voice performance. In fact, Dingo Killing Voice started because of them. Take a listen, their harmonies are insane. Their individual voices are crazy and they are even better together especially performing live.

TBH I had a bias against ppop groups... you know the usual thinking that they are 2nd rated kpop copycats. But after giving SB19 and G22 a quick glance, I am now hooked. Lesson learned, always keep an open mind... and ears.

I’ve never been happier with our local music scene!😭 Parang since 2018 pagaling nang pagaling na ang artists natin. Paganda nang paganda ang quality ng kanta. Our music industry has never been more diverse. Ito ang matagal ko ng hinihintay… wala akong masyadong gusto kasi sa mga OPM dati. Just like how our food is a mix of cultures but we still make good food, this I think is what was missing in our music. Nakakatuwa na ngayon, ang dami ng experimental, nageexplore ng iba ibang genre. Para bang nakuha na natin ngayon pano gawin magmix ng iba ibang genres, iba ibang sounds, but still make it work. Our country have always been an mix of cultures and I am so very glad that it now also reflects not only in our food, but also our music.
FR 😁 Nag sasawa nako dati sa mga hiphop tracks and ballad. I miss the RnB era then PPOP came. A lot of groups sets the standard so the PPOP scene became more competitive but in healthy way to pierce the global music scene.
