I had a yellow (not stock color) '67' Chevy Van. It had a 6 cylinder motor (230 ci ?) with an automatic transmission. I loved that thing. No windows on the side, just two in back. I built a bed in back, carpeted the entire box top to bottom. Custom stereo, cool lights, the whole nine yards. It was my first ride. 1976. Had way too much fun with that thing. Sometimes I still wish I had that van and those days back.
Kool, your story is a perfect example of the 70's! A time when Mom always made sure you had spare change for a phone booth call, not a care in the World and good-times with friends! Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Cheers Spudman
That brought back memories. Had one I bought from the company I worked for. It was used as a work van for air conditioning. Had it for a few years and around 84 I sold it. That one looks very nice.
Had a 68 chevy long cargo van with two front seats only and a rebuilt 307, 3 on the tree!!! Given to me from a good friend!!! Body was a little rough but ran like a top!!! Was used by his family hardware and furniture store!!! Did some wiring work and a new battery and drove her 600 miles in one day moving out of state back in 1985!!!! Drove her to work for a few years!!!! No ac and the heater didnt work to good but was a blast to drive!!! Would like to have another one!!!!
And already painted in the base color for Fred's Mystery Machine. These vans were so much fun to drive. Sitting on the front tires made for a different driving experience.
Lot of good work done there. Solid ride! jeez I hope the future owner don't go down the "Scooby Doo, mystery van road". That's been covered extensively. This fine Van needs an original future going forward.
Hello , I once was a freelance electrician. I still own the 67 g10 chevy van that i used doing those electrical jobs. Right now it's off the road. I got 755,000 miles out of that 67 van doing free Lance electrical gig work. I went through 3 engines, two trainees (3 speed on the tree) two rear end rebuilds. That undercarriage needs rebuilding... Its in bad shape. I live up north in a rust belt state... in my honest opinion there is nothing in the world that can prevent rust damage unless you visit a rust proofing dealer every two weeks in winter.....Rust can form even under a good paint job.....I,m going to painstakingly going to rebuild that undercarriage it out of stainless steel when i retire. .... I have both mig and tig welding processes along with body shop plasma cutters. Right now i,m driving a 1979 chevy van that was extensively modified with stainless steel. Especially the brake fluid lines. Fuel lines are copper of course. I don,t believe in using OEM METAL. That to me is a sicko car cultists ....... Those door hin😅ges custom fabricated out of stainless. I adore that. I may do the same. Thank you for the presentation l However my restoration s are not intended to show off in the Sunday afternoon parade of classic vehicles. I may still use that van doing free Lance electrical work. I enjoy being practical as opposed to just showing off. Hence, maybe I may if my department of motor vehicles would let me convert that 67 van to all electric using a rebuilt subway car 50 HP direct current motor at 600dc with Chopper controller to regulate battery powered applied. A win win. Miss Paula Walach-former industrial electrician-member IBEW. Licensed since 1972 still working as a rail mass transit electrician
@@spudsgarage Why do only the OLD CARS excite? These new cars look terrible, and DO NOT give one the "thrill"" - that CLASSIC CARS do! Oh, do I ever LOVE old cars! I was only TEN YEARS OLD in 1968!
Cuz like a princess, she was layin there...Moonlight dancin off her hair...she woke and took me by the hand she gonna love me in my Chevy Van, and thats alright by me...
Some of those old mid engine chevys had small block V8's. So did Dodge. The old Ford's didn't, but I love the ford body style. But I'm partial to the fords. Bought one when i was 13 and I still have it at 67. I made one Badazz street rod out of that thing.
I had a Dodge van like this. 6 banger, 3 on the tree. I remember the dog house getting hot as hades in the summer. This Chevy is top drawer! Gorgeous color.
Thank you, it is top-drawer fun, and the period color fits it character! This Chevy G10 doghouse runs comparably cool to the touch. The original factory under-body splash/vent pans "remain in place" (they are designed to flow forward fresh air in/out of the engine compartment) along with updated larger radiator, custom fan shroud and renewed engine cover insulation. She's a blast to drive… Cheers Spudman
@@spudsgarage The side mirrors are so cool. We used to put trucker style mirrors on our vans. That’s where you mounted your CB antennas hahaha. Cheers from Chicago.
Had a friend with a body shop that used it ... I built him a wood stove that he painted with a deep blue Imron paint ... Don't know how it's holding up 45 years later ...
Mine was sport van 108. With all the windows. 6 Cylinder. Had big Is alteran tires. I loved it. My 100 lb cream color Cho Cho would set up on the dog house. What a sight go down the road
I had that same van. 1rst vehicle. I was 16. Paid 950.00. For it at used car lot. Was running rough. Paid 18 bucks for a headgasket and installed it. Ran perfect 68 chev panel van. 230 straight 6. 3 on the tree. Metallic brown. Mag wheels etc. Rear tires stuck out 3 inches. Drove for around 7 years. Should of never sold it. Was so cool.
