Dolesh you have to understand that long distance passenger train travel is not very popular in USA. It is much cheaper to travel by flight than train travel. You can get a fare as low as $50-60 from NYC to Orlando on cheap fare airlines such as Spirit or Southwest airline. USA has some of best roadways so most people travel by road than by train. It roughly takes about 16-20 hours by road from NYC to Orlando by car. Imagine a family of 4-5 travelling by road. The petrol cost will be not more than $150 for this distance for 5 people travelling by car. Also, travelling by car is more convenient as you can stop where you want. The today's average cost of 1 gallon (about 3.8 liter) of petrol is only $3 (coversion to INR 260 so one liter is approx INR 68). Most people who travel by train are those who can't afford to buy and maintain a car or business travellers who travel short distances only as they dont want to drive due to traffic and cost of parking charges. You must do research and educate yourself and the Indian audiance accordingly. Be honest, did you check the flight fare from NYC to Orlando? If you did you know that you can travel for even less than $100 in about 2 hours. Train utilization in Asia, Europe and other countries are very differenct from USA. I am from India and I am in USA for over 25 years and I never travelled by train for pleasure. Within USA it is cheapear and more convenient for me to travel by either flight or car.
Obviously, he's not spending lakhs of INR on USA trip without any knowledge. HE KNOWS IT. It's pretty obvious when you visit any new country you tend to compare it with your country. It's similar to any Foreigner comparing cleanliness of their country with India's. He's built an audience with Travel vlogs. He will obviously want to travel in other country trains at least once regardless of how good/bad the trains are for the experience.
@@tejasparse9053 That is true, but it is also important to give context. If you are a travel train vlogger or any travel vlogger, you "should" give your audience, especially the Indian audience back home some context as to why the trains are they way are in a particular country so you complete the knowledge base around it. That makes a much more effective way to educate your subscribers who may not know why a country has what it has and any historical context behind it, the current affairs and what the future maybe. Nobody is asking for a documentary, but you can do small snippets during the vlog, that makes the vlog much more informative, while one shares their own experience. It gives an audience that has zero or limited idea about another countries infra, to have at least some baseline information. But your point is well taken, ppl will always compare good/bad from where they are and what they are used to in their home country.
US govt never wanted to fund railway infrastructure but wanted citizens to consume road infrastructure and air infrastructure than train system which is as old system worldwide...High Speed Train is being explored in few places but land acquisition costs and real estate rights are crazy!
That Moynihan Train Hall is named after now deceased New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who I believe was appointed as a US Ambassador to India. In fact if I am not recalling this wrong, his daughter was so impressed by Indian culture that she took up Hinduism. He had a long and illustrious political career.
Hat's off to your dedication and passion 🛐🛐 , That urge of you wanting to show us the amtrak journey was enough for u to go through the tough journey...!!!
I have watched your Indian railways video. Nice to see you here in US. Welcome. US has the largest rail network, if I am not mistaken but that's all freight services. Amtrack owns only 300 miles/480 km of tracks. The rest is owned by cargo goods companies. Amtrack trains are actually slower now compared to 1970s, on an average. They no longer have any priority over freight trains but it's the other way round. Amtrack is always in loss, most train coaches are old and there is a chance that lot of train routes may be shut down. Cannot compete with air travel (for both cost and time, much cheaper by plane) or cars for short distances. Btw, try NY to San Francisco by rail if you can. 4 days and three nights journey. By plane, it's 5 hours.

Very nice vlog. You are correct - USA is too spread out and most people use personal transportation or fly. Trains are used more for short distances including commuting purposes. Very few travel long distances. Most of US railway infrastructure still uses goods trains to move shipments. But I’m glad you had an experience of enjoying the natural beauty between Virginia down to Orlando. You should have stopped for a day in Williamsburg (1 hour from Richmond) to enjoy the history of US. Maybe next time. Cheers and stay safe
Since the US area is three times larger than India, the flight system is often preferred over trains - For Speed, Network, Frequency, Infra and Cost (Yes Cost! - Airfare is cheaper than Train tickets, especially for long distances)
Please avoid pointing at people or things in your vidoes… it’s considered very rude in US. Woh US hai… log sue karne mein expert hai. Koi sue kar dega for showing them in your videos without their permission toh bahut mehenga pad jayega

Railways in the US is not as developed as it is not that popular. There are just a few routes that are developed like Boston-DC. People don't use the trains for long journeys like India. You would have got a flight ticket from NYC to Orlando for a comparable price if not cheaper hence people use flights or just drive. Also the country is about 4-5 times the size of India so apart from the north east and some cities the rest of the country is sparsely populated.

I really don't understand who told you to use Amtrak. It's a monopoly service in the US and is not considered that good. Better to travel via air or car in the USA. Don't recommend bus or trains.
USA have high power locos and rail coaches but the tracks are not modernized for them... All Acela trains are about to be retired and a newer train's test runs have started, but, sadly... old tracks...

United States is a huge country, almost 4 times the size of India ..east to west. You cannot compare a very ordinary Vande Bharat to this age old train infra in US. As many have pointed out, the cost of building a train infrastructure even just for 400 miles is in 10s of Billions of dollars and that is mostly due to land acquisition and environmental regulations, along with high labor and materials cost, consulting fees and design and safety along with the hopes of having any type of federal or state funding for such a project. Just remember on PER DAY basis 45,000 ..yes 45K aircrafts take off and land in US, compared to roughly about 3500, 3.5K in India. US is all about Air Travel, even for shorter distances. However in certain pockets like the eastern corridor and or the pacific coast if high speed trains are introduced then many ppl would use it, but that is only a pipe dream if that ever gets built anytime soon..but things may change in the future with shorter routes and then expanding the network with the highest density of riders with high speed trains that go at 200+ mph which is equal to roughly 320KMPH. Looks like ppl in India are confused about mph and kmph. Cars in united states drive at the same speed as Vande Bharat btw. 75mph car speed in US is equal to 120kmph in the Vande Bharat train.
