I think there's a small error in the right side drawing. The image shows a divergent channel, meaning that the fluid expands but in a Curtis turbine there is no expansion!
If you mean increase of velocity due expansion, you are right for single stage curtis turbine. However, if the turbine has two stages, than there is expansion stage in the middle.
Thanks man, great video! I have one question tho, at the left side of the figure: we should have a nozzle so the section should go smaller to the end? Here it looks like the section increases and so it looks like a diffuser? (red part)
Actually. Curtis wheel ( or steam turbine ) uses De Laval type nozzles. Vey short distance converging a long section diverging. Yes, in my video this detail is not shown and it is not clear,. sorry about that
If steam entering the turbine has high pressure it is logical use curtis wheel. This is because curtis wheel reduces pressure a lot and increase speed a lot. Because the rest of the turbine will have less stages compared to a turbine without Curtis wheel.
Dear Fredrik, Thank you for visiting my RUclips channel and for your free offer to voice over my videos. I am sorry for my late reply. I was over sea for two weeks and busy grading my students grades with poor internet connection. After holiday vacation I begin to answer my RUclips channel comments. I would be very happy to work with you to do what you suggested. I checked your channel for your voice but I realized that you do not have any videos. Is it possible to send me small paragraph with your voice so that I should get some idea. However, I should warn you that you are trying to embark a difficult task. Thanks again and looking forward your voice file. No matter what I wish you happy new year.
Great presentation I always enjoy your videos thy make my day. Thank you.
your website is treasure trove, thanks for sharing

I understand more about concept of reaction turbine. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment and support.
Curtis turbine is IMPULSE turbine where there's no PRESSURE drop.
However, Reaction turbine has pressure drop!!

@@seyhanersoy8989 thank you sir
good video bro
Thank you for visiting my channel and supporting comment.
Seriously, if you make the animations and write the script, I'd be glad to read it for free. Great video but the voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

It'd be glad to give it a try! What would be the easiest way to send you an audio file?
send it as email attachment to mekanizmalar@gmail.com. Thanks
I just sent you an email, the subject is "voice example" and my email address contains my name (same as here on youtube).
