  • There’s nothing better than FREE help for seniors! Except for free services for seniors AND their family caregivers! Getting help for the elderly living at home can get expensive and families often don’t know who to call for the little things.
    In addition, family caregiving is demanding and can be stressful, so any FREE technology for family caregivers to free up some time and make things less stressful should be a welcome resource for you. Well, this video has both: Tips for helping elderly parents get much needed FREE services, and also how to make caring for elderly parents easier by using technology.
    When your elderly parent needs help with things like cleaning, driving, moving, getting food or needs support when in the hospital or is ill at home, there are FREE solutions to help out. FREE services for senior citizens and the elderly are hard to find, but this video will cover four amazing FREE resources to make things a bit easier on you. I’m sure that at least one of these will be a benefit for you and your aging parent at home, and maybe you’ll find all four useful!
    The next time you say things like “I’m so stressed, my elderly parent needs help at home and I don’t know who to turn to”, turn to these resources for assistance.

    I made a medical binder for my dad and now have one for my mom.

    This is phenomenal!
    My grandfather is going to be 84 in a couple of weeks and grandmother will turn 82 beautiful years young next week. And as their primary caregiver for the last umpteen years, it's getting harder and harder for me to do it all. And, to be quite honest, I'm sick myself. I'm still undergoing lots of diagnostic testing to really try to nail a much more definitive diagnosis and prognosis. Moreover, so I can plan appropriately. I do not intend to tell either one of them because that will only leave them both with more, undo stress.
    Thank you again for sharing this information. ❤

    I (and my parents) are very lucky that they have retiree medical insurance through Kaiser Permanente so I don't need a binder. :-) Neither of my parents are good at understanding and repeating the care instructions, but at least they've completed their Advanced Medical Directive and authorized me to access their health records online.
    The Elder Helpers link. OMG. This is so useful. I can't wait to let my parents know about this!

      @Kayolo Lindenberger you are so far ahead of many! Good for you and your parents! I have come to find out that Elder Helpers has a "donation" fee, but it's still an amazing service!

    As of today (5/5/2024) the Elder Helpers website says "Access Code $50 per month" is charged to get the contact information to reach the volunteers.

    • @SofiaAmirpoor
      @SofiaAmirpoor  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, they consider that a “donation” . I know $50 a month is a lot for many people, but I suppose it is less than hiring a caregiver or other helper privately. 🤷‍♀️

    • @kianay3875

      You shouldn't give her a choice. Find someone with thick skin and let them know what she's like and hire them. (If they will take the job) Your mother may just need to get used to someone but in the end it will be better for you and everyone. She may even make a new loving friend. Be strong. I feel your pain sis!
