O-ring really smooths out the highs and lows of the sound, bringing forward a more consistent sound across the whole board. My favorite is definitely the O-ring by itself, it sounds more premium with the highs and lows of the sound signature being tamed by the O-ring.
Absolutely loved the editing on this video! It gave me a very melancholic, somewhat terrifying feeling especially with at the beginning with the train shot and the Japanese announcer in the background like I was watching a zombie movie lol. As for the build and gasket options I think Neo Studios absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one! I feel like they took some design notes from the TKD's Cycle 7 and doubled down on the gasket options. It's interesting how significant the acoustics change between the gasket sleeves and the gasket dumbbells. Personally, I preferred the gasket dumbbells because it really brought out the sound clacky sound of the switch which I've found to prefer after finally trying out a thocky switch. As for combining O-ring and gasket dumbbells while I do find it nice that we can combine gasketing options, the sound of the space bar sounds very odd. I'm not sure if I'm hearing something else but there's a low and high pitch almost like hearing water drip from a faucet. Either way, this was an extremely well-done and insightful video. I really wanna buy the Neo80 now but I just got my Neo70 in and I'm very quickly running out of space and money to buy such an amazing keyboard.
First of all, thank you so much for this wonderful comment. I used some footage from my recent trip to Japan for the intro because I thought it would suit the music I chose for the video. The slight melancholy is definitely what I was shooting for, but I didn’t expect it to be frightening hahaha. Anyway, I'm glad it was enjoyable still!! It's my first Neo keyboard, but I've followed their releases closely. I'm a big fan of Qwertykeys and what they've accomplished with the QK and Neo lines. The ball-catch latch system is definitely not new to the hobby, but I think the Neo80 may go down in history as the board that made it a widely available feature. I'm no keyboard scholar though. My favorite options for this board are the gasket dumbbells and the O-ring. When used together, I think there's an increased stiffness to the board, which also made the spacebar sound a bit muddled(?). You're right in that it's hard to describe. I think the brass standoffs for a sandwich mount was my least favorite configuration, but a good option to have nonetheless. This hobby is seriously a money sink, but I'm glad that it seems to be getting cheaper over time. Space is the bigger issue for sure though. Someone needs to create a space-efficient keyboard storage system soon. Thank you again for watching! I hope you drop by again for future videos 🙏

Wow - thank you!! 😁 I did not notice any hollowness or case ping while typing, but I did keep the case foam beneath the PCB (just didn't use the plate and PE foam). If you look closely, there are also rubber pads on the four corners of the bottom case that the top case sits on top of. That definitely helped mitigate any potential pinging.
130$ is with a solder PCB and shipping is 38$. So, it's at least 160$ even with the 10$ discount. False advertisement. Still a decent board at a good price.
Apologies if the description was misleading! But at this point, we should all know that shipping is not free. If it's "free", you're paying for it in the product price. Thank you for watching 🌞
Don't see how excluding shipping cost is false advertisement, especially since, like mentioned above, it varies depending on where you are. If you shop online and your cart says $50 but at checkout you see $65 after tax and shipping are you gonna complain that it's false advertisement because your cart total and checkout total are different? No. The price of the board starts at $130, shipping is shipping, it's never included in the price of the product itself.

The only Neo80 build config that actually sounds decent lolll ❤️ Great work btw. Did you notice any hollowness or case ping while typing on the board?
Wow - thank you!! 😁
I did not notice any hollowness or case ping while typing, but I did keep the case foam beneath the PCB (just didn't use the plate and PE foam). If you look closely, there are also rubber pads on the four corners of the bottom case that the top case sits on top of. That definitely helped mitigate any potential pinging.
혹시 이게 로우는 아니죠?
스탠다드 입니다 😊
The space is quite muted, do u hay way to fix it???😮
If you want a louder spacebar, I would suggest the brass standoffs for the sandwich mount. Switches and keycaps are going to change the sound as well.
@@TAZAKEY thanks mate
130$ is with a solder PCB and shipping is 38$. So, it's at least 160$ even with the 10$ discount. False advertisement. Still a decent board at a good price.
Shipping costs aren’t the same for everyone that’s why it’s not included when saying “starting at…”
Apologies if the description was misleading! But at this point, we should all know that shipping is not free. If it's "free", you're paying for it in the product price.
Thank you for watching 🌞
@@HoodSwami Thank you for clarifying on my behalf ❤
Don't see how excluding shipping cost is false advertisement, especially since, like mentioned above, it varies depending on where you are. If you shop online and your cart says $50 but at checkout you see $65 after tax and shipping are you gonna complain that it's false advertisement because your cart total and checkout total are different? No.
The price of the board starts at $130, shipping is shipping, it's never included in the price of the product itself.
