Thanks for sharing about your Native 5 LW. I love the blue FRN. I'm not super familiar with cpmSPY27 steel, but what I do know from the testing I've seen is it seems to perform similar to s30v; which is more than adequate for most people's EDC needs. I'd certainly like to know what you think about it after you've had some time with it down the road. 👍I recently picked up another Native 5 LW in cpmMagnaCut and I'm still testing that steel myself. So far it's way out performing every other super steel I currently own. Anyway, regardless of whatever blade steel its made from, the Native 5 is a great design from Spyderco and I love it too. Take care and Cheers!
One of the best looking ones I had a hard time warming up to their looks when there are so many pretty knives out there that do very similar things to the Spydercos The only one I bought so far is the Delica and that for someone else who asked for it for her birthday Really nice review and all of you especially Erica are working to convince me lol Love you bro Keep pitching
I’ve been carrying my Para3 LW as my EDC but after all the positive reviews ( and I love its blade shape ) I decided to order a Native 5 LW. I’m anxiously awaiting its delivery.
Love them. Have a bunch of them. I’ve been edc’ing a native 5 lw serrated maganacut and it’s great for my line of work, cutting rope and materials as such. MXG is a good clip for this knife. Lynch nw is great also.👍🏻
Nice review, thanks, you are 100% correct, the native is superb. Deep carry clip is OK if you aren't a hard user. If you have large or X-large hands, the deep carry clip puts a nice hotspot in a place you will feel when you blast out a big load of cardboard or other hard use. Stock clip is perfect for large hands. For soft EDC use, deep carry is fine.
This is spyderco's best knife imo. It's the perfect combination of everything that makes the company great. It has the ergos: forward choil, no thumb ramp. It's a strong blade for a spyderco while slicing better than most knives. Back lock suits the forward choil better than a finger safe lock, ages better as well. Prefer the g10 version for the smoother action, difference in weight is negligible to me.
Have to agree with you on the blade shape! 👍 This one does look much better! 👍 Let us know how that new steel compares with their other offerings! 👌 Have a great week off! ✌
The Native 5 Spyderco’s are amazing . They are a perfect EDC knife for sure. I think you are Spot on, I love my Para 3 but I think the Native 5 is actually better. Thank you for the video and all of your content. 👍👏
The Lynch Stubby deep carry pocket clip ($20) is the perfect addition to the Native ... but it's about time Spyderco put a decent factory deep carry clip on all of their knives.
If you remove the finger guard with the metal file and sandpaper to smooth it out etc...makes this knife so much better and ergonomic ( Only took 2 minutes ) makes the handle bigger too
Be aware that with Spyderco, if you need a 50 cent bushing for your knife pivot, you will have to send your knife back (paying shipping both ways) and pay to have it replaced. They will not simply ship you the part you need. I have a Domino with the paper thin cheap bushing that fails and it will cost me $30 to fix a $1 worth in parts. Their customer service is crap! They never took responsibility for the shit design of the Domino's bearing and bushing.
Sorry guys, i meant to say I will be given away the Delica 4!
Great knife i have 3 of them, one of my favorite spyderco blade shapes

Great review of this blade! Really dig the design of this one, definitely looks beefier than a regular LW knife and love that drop point!!

It is one of the best knives that Spyderco ever put out……. Thanks for showing it Kevin stay well buddy 😊
I agree. It’s one of the best from Spyderco. If you haven’t checked out the manix 2, it’s a must. Also one of the best in my opinion
Gota love the manix 2
The native 5 has been my go to EDC blade for a while now it's fit in the pocket is great the whole design is just great in my opinion.
I've had my Native 5 LW for a little over two years now, and it's definitely my favorite Spyderco knife. Glad you got your hands on one, buddy!
The Native 5 is a great knife and I think that you will enjoy Spy 27. I have a Manix 2 LW in Spy27 and so far I like it.
Yeah! A flickable back lock is all we need! Amazing knife!
Awesome knife, love it, want it, need it ❤
I think you will be pleased with it!!
I have several Native 5's in G-10 & FRN. They're great knives & other than my Smock, among my favorite Spyderco's!

Very cool buddy 😎👍🏻
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Great review! Just ordered it and can’t wait for it to arrive 🤙🏼

Absolutely agree 👍🏻! Thank you for watching and supporting!!
One of my spyderco favorite blade shapes
My Native 5 with AWT scales is probably my favorite knife I own, and I own a few😅🤙🏼
I've got the one with carbon scales. You think those Awt scales are better
native 5 lw is my go to work knife, been using the rex45 native 5 lw for a few yrs now it is def a hard use knife.
Can’t wait to put it to work!!! Love it so far!!
My native 5 in s90v and carbon fiber is one of my fav to carry
That’s a great steel! Had the bugout in that steel and it’s excellent
Nice one Buddy!!!! 😃
Thank you Benjamin!!
You just might like the sage 5 lw. It’s almost a mini manix 2 with a compression lock.
Fun fact, the Sage 3 had a ball bearing lock, that really was like a smaller Manix!
Only con with the native 5 is the foward finger choil constantly gets caught up when cutting. That's it thought.
First ❤
Yes you are 😃
The Lynch Stubby deep carry pocket clip ($20) is the perfect addition to the Native ... but it's about time Spyderco put a decent factory deep carry clip on all of their knives.
Awesome knife buddy
I'm on vacation this week and next week ❤
Work hard play hard!!
You deserve it!!
@bostonbladereviews919 thanks Kevin, enjoy your time off 😀 👍
@@addictedtoblades2 thank you enjoy your time off as well my friend!!
I prefer native 5 knife shape rather than para 2, 3
I love native5
Native five. The prettiest of the ugly Spydercos. I love em. Great video Boston.
If you remove the finger guard with the metal file and sandpaper to smooth it out etc...makes this knife so much better and ergonomic ( Only took 2 minutes ) makes the handle bigger too
The length of the cutting edge is a joke.
I've got the carbon fiber native 4m5 and I love it. Carry it everyday

I’ve sent them two knives for repair and wasn’t charged anything. I just paid the shipping to them.🤷♂️
