Thanks -- I am 76 and the place looks the same -- we used to have family picnics there and we would just get turned loose -- had to stay out of the river though -- loved the conversation.
Cool! My grandma used to take us to Ledges and we would play in the water crossings. At the time (mid 1960s) there was a place in Boone that sold broasted chicken, so we always had a picnic lunch. Thanks for the video.
It really is a cool place. It would be a GREAT place to have some fun rock crawling an RC. I think next time I'll bring my Axial SCT10 4x4. Not a crawler, but plenty of fun spots to rip that thing.
Could be Carl Fritz Hennings old house, he was my great great great grandfather. Made the ledges a state park, had a petting zoo of local wildlife outside his house that was in ledges sometime ago, according to the old family stories at least.
I yost to love legis

Maybe that was some type of shelter to go & warm up (fireplace) in the winter?
Thanks for the memories.
Grandparents took us kids there every year. Better than Christmas!

It was fun to see another part of Iowa that I never would have ever known about. Hope you keep the adventures coming.
I hear alot of people talk about going there to climb rocks with RC rock crawlers.. Never been there.. cool.

What was the name of the trail u went up to the cliff?
Looks cool but not for me. That amount of isolation gives me the willies.
