As a dancer myself... Bro there were four people competing in this category ofc someone is going to rank SECOND behind FIRST. Otherwise what else was the placement supposed to be - 1st Xiaoting, 2nd N/A, 3rd Tsuki, 4th Eunbi, and 5th Sullyoon? Going by your logic of "never practiced it [the genre] before", either ALL of the contestants have had practiced the Latin style - as they already knew their dances - or NONE of them have - because Xiaoting is not a professional in this genre, she is a professional in Standard Dancesport (ballroom) and not Latin (Latin American Dancesport). The two genres have drastically different traits and requirements in terms of technique and execution. Also there was a 2.3 difference between the scores of XT and Tsuki. In the dance world that is a major difference, especially when dancers are being assessed out of 30 (we're marked out of 300 in my competitions). To dumb it down, multiply each contestant's score by 10 and then you will really see the difference; XT -> 292, Tsuki -> 269, difference = 23 points. Xiaoting was also graded harsher by the judges in comparison to the other contestants. If they were being graded on the same scale with the same expectations, XT would have easily scored over 29.5 with her technique and execution even with her costume malfunction and her timing mistake at the very beginning and none of the other contestants would have scored over 22.00 (due to their poor execution of the many tricks they included to upscale the difficulty of their dances, and, their unsightly technique/attention to detail). If you don't know shit about Dancesport don't say nothing about it being made easy bc its not. Everybody's but Xiaoting's dances were messy, and by saying it was easy for an untrained professional when it clearly wasn't basically invalidates the talent and hard work of actual professionals. And don't go about starting fanwars bc I don't care about Kpop I'm just expressing my thoughts as a competitive dancer.
