Watching Carrie run frantically round a room full of books is something I didn’t know I needed on a Wednesday evening (definitely made me laugh 🤣). Those bookshelves are AMAZING Carrie, you’re living the absolute dream (I know everyone’s been saying it but it’s true!!) And now time to channel my inner book nerd. Here we go. The Love Square by Laura Jane Williams has 4 people on the actual cover so you were right with that one. For the question about the book that you own that is written by someone who’s famous for something else, you read that out whilst standing in front of Zoe Sugg’s Girl Online Going Solo. Love that haha! Eve of Man is BRILLIANT, it isn’t usually the genre I opt to read but I fell in love with Eve and Bram and their story. I also read the second one and am waiting for the third! Argh I’ve got so much to say, I’m rambling. I need to stop. Hope you’re having a good evening/day, whenever you’re reading this (whoever is!) 🥰

My having moved every year of the past decade means my five bookshelves are down to one bookcase and it breaks me a little tiny bit.
So I am living VERY vicariously through this, imagining running through your shelves like a little book elf.

Carrie is basically the person that I wanted to be when I grew up/grow up. Like, shes from England and has an accent (I'm from the US), she's a singer with killer vocals and is such a talented actress, and shes a giant bookworm with an awesome library. Literally everything i've ever wanted to be:)))

I've found an app called Book Buddy that I'm attempting to use to keep track but annoyingly it doesn't alphabetise by authors last name which is how I've organised all my books! 😂😅

the way that you talked about loving books set in London is how I feel about All That She Can See since I'm from Plymouth. I think that's the only book I've ever read set in Plymouth so thank you for letting me finally experience that joy!
i bloody love the return of the bookish content!! :D I have that same wee box set of LOTR and as soon as you read the map question i was like "yes, yes you do Carrie its right behind you!" hahah. also, babe, saaaaames, I don't think ill ever get over the end of noughts and crosses, I remember reading it at roughly 13/14 and there being lots of blank pages at the end of my copy so i felt like i was hoodwinked into believing something was gonna save him! xx

Wow I am so so envious of your library and bookshelves! I have zero space for books these days, still living at home and instead having to hoard other items such as dog grooming equipment as I’m a trainee 🐶💕. As a result, I’ve converted to a Kindle which I do love but it makes me sad that I don’t have a tangible book collection like this 💔

I would really recommend selling your books on Vinted rather than Depop just because there aren't any fees that cost the seller to lose out and also you can do Hermes selected store shipping which is miles cheaper than standard Royal Mail :)

I read The Marriage Plot earlier this year and loved it! It'll make you laugh and cry and cringe and remember what it feels like to be young and in love
For the TV adaptation one i yelled ‘GOOD OMENS’ but theres also Sherlock Holmes, that has multiple tv series
That one about the book with two maps, I was immediately saying out loud 'the ones behind your elbow!' Of course the Tolkien books have tons of maps xD
We still use stamps for the Carnegie etc :) we definitely use stamps for more children's book awards than adults' in the UK. xx
oop! cannot recommend the marriage plot enough! had to read it for class a few semesters back and it was the most enjoyable bit of reading i ever had to do for college!
I only just got the notification for this (youtube whyyy) but I've recently got back into reading, growing up I'd read 5 or 6 books a month, but it's taken me over a year and a half to get through 3, but the latest one I did in 3 days (it helps that it's the series that made me want to be a writer), definitely going to give this challenge a go myself later! Your content always helps me relax and calm down when my anxiety is bad, it's such a lovely community here!
I can see Undercover Princess by Connie Glynn on your shelf, that would count for a book written by someone who was famous for something else first! For the book turned in to a movie, I was shouting Beautiful Creatures at the screen! 😂 It was right there! 😂 Loved this video!

i am not a reader (dyslexic so i just get fed up why too fast) but if i had the money for my dream house i want a library with floor to ceiling bookcases containing thousands of books ... not sure why, but i want one XD

Mass Market Paperback is when a book is printed on cheaper paper. The paper usually yellows pretty quickly. Also, the book is very small and the binding usually isn't as good as a standard paperback book. Mass Market Paperback books can usually be found in convenience stores. Long story short, a mass market paperback book is just a cheaper print of any book.
There is nothing more adorable than Carrie reading a prompt, exclaiming "yes!" and then spinning around (rather theatrically, I might add) to retrieve one of her favorite novels! ❤️😂

I just bloody loved this video. The happy energy you were giving off was practically palpable and I just wanted to instantly join in around my own bookshelf (which is rubbish compared to yours due to lack of space and mostly filled with travel books and play texts (bookshelf of a drama graduate!)).

I don’t know if anyone will see this but if you like books based in London try reading London by Edward Rutherford- there is also Paris etc- and is about the history of the city told through the stories of people
It also has maps in it!

carrie, i have literally grown up with your videos - i was about 11 when you started making les mis videos back in 2013 and they were what made me absolutely OBSESSED with theatre so seeing you make these 'it's way past my bedtime style' videos fills me with so much nostalgia.
yours and oli's videos literally helped me survive lockdown and helped me keep schedule during a very unsettling time.
i just wanted ti say thank you for being there for me when i have had tough or difficult times in my (albeit short) life and being like a virtual big sister (as weird as it sounds!)
