- On 4 Apr, 22-year-old Singaporean Maximilian Zeng inspired his Imperial College London team to a comeback at the finals of the University Challenge, overturning a 15-point deficit to snatch the trophy minutes before the final gong rang.

To those who doubted Sheriff and Jackson, in the finals you will see that all teammates points were important in helping them to win over Reading whom they narrowly won by 10 points. If Sheriff had not gotten the Atropine or A.E Housman one, or if Jackson had not been a badass in identifying Amsterdam as the badass flag, Imperial would have lost. It's juz that Max Zeng is clearly the fan favourite this season and bcos he is Singaporean entering University Challenge which is one of the hardest quiz shows and doing so well so some may focus on him and neglect the rest.

the trophy represents 2 pages (metal pages) that contain various drawings/inscriptions representing architecture, geography, chemistry etc - CULTURE.

I like how each of the imperial team wore something reasonably significant to mark the final like mays’ tweed jacket, Jackson’s cute light blue jumper and Sheriff’s sparkly dress.

Watched the whole episode and I must say, Zeng is indeed a GPS. But everyone in the Imperial Team has their own chances to shine in their respective subject matters. While the Reading Team was led by Hutchinson indeed. Such a great captain.
EDIT: That Brecon Beacons question was the turning point of this match. Zeng buzzed probably a millisecond earlier than Hutchinson. Btw, your editing is hilariously great. Haha.
For all those critisizing the participants based on these 4 mins clip let me give u a brief about them.
1)1st guy is zeng who is a master of geography and chemistry.he scored (34/38) opener for the team.
2)to his left is a girl named sheriff who has better knowledge of litrature and movies or drama and also has some knowledge about human biology her topic has limited questions and she scored (11/14)openers for her team
3)to her left is the caption who is may and he has a far more general topic to cope up with and he is good with questions related to physics.since he has a vast subject he has a wide range of questions.he scored (16/24)openers
4)the last one is jackson who also has a more of general topic to cover and he goes well with music related questions.he scored (6/14) opener.
Now since sheriff and zeng have more specialised topic all there points are self earned while around 25 percent of the points of may and jackson are from the group discussion and guesses since they have a wast topic
And about other team there is hutsinson who is their caption who all takes care of all topics(geography chemistry history music art litrature etc) and to his left is the women(osley maybe)acts as a filter to his answers and she is good at litrature philosophy and history.and the other 2 ppl who were at extreme left and right were not of much help to their team so it basically was 2 vs 4 situation for them but they fought hard.
Overall if any1 was to given best player of the season it is definately hucinton as he carried his team to finals(he covers all topics compared to zeng who specialise geography and chem so i prefer him over zeng)

If you want to know the real meaning of carrying, then you should see the matches of Reading University who were the runners up and lost against this team. Their Captain almost won it for them. Zeng couldn't have won without his teammates but Reading's captain would have and he almost did.
Imperial team members were all doing great but Zeng must be the MVP of the final.
