    • @e.c.winner7252
      @e.c.winner7252 3 года назад +100

They don’t view other people as human.
According to critical theory & identity politics, people are not individuals with agency & inherent value. Every ‘person’ is merely an instance of their various overlapping identity traits. They are, therefore, participants (“complicit”) in whatever sins the other identity groups want to assign to them. Their idea of “justice” is twisted, perverse, nonsensical, and, ultimately, untenable. They demand “accountability” from people, but don’t allow for the freedom to choose otherwise. For example, if you are white, or straight, or male, etc, you can’t *help* but be an oppressor. You must atone for your original (and inescapable) sins, but you will *never* be forgiven.
This is why they hate everything and everyone, including themselves. They’ve made everyone an un-person while simultaneously assigning the “oppressed” minority-du-jour very human feelings of sadness, resentment, pain, rage, and fear - which are all justified, regardless of whether they accurately reflect reality, so long as said minority group claims that they are justified. They weaponize our western (“hegemonic”) morality and the belief that it is unacceptable to cause harm to people, in spite of the inherent dehumanization required by their “justice”-oriented ethics... so who can be harmed when no one is really a person?
It’s sick, psychotic, and sadistic - and wholly impenetrable to any logic or reason. No apology will ever be enough.
So we deplorable and “oppressive” normies must reject the entire system outright. There’s no value to arguing with it or trying to convince its adherents that it’s a load of nonsensical garbage. Never apologize, never kneel, and never admit that even a shred of what they say is true. Mock them or ignore them. This is the only way we can move on.

Watched the actual video a long time ago so my memory is hazy but IIRC contrapoints suported struggle sessions as a part of regular cancel culture in order to give the canceled some way to actually be forgiven. Don't remember how much she actually supports this "improved" version of cancel culture or just sees it as a less bad version.

As someone who worked on computers in a public setting, it probably wasn't even his fault. When you have rotating staff at a desk, someone can input something wrong, or forget something, or a trainee could have made a mistake (since a lot of jobs do "on the job training", and then likes to chew out their trainees for doing something wrong the first time around). The guy probably knew when the encounter escalated that he was minus his job - the customer should have asked to speak to the manager if no resolution could have been reached with the desk clerk. The desk clerk can't do whatever he likes - he has very definite limits to actions he can take.
Wish I could say that behavior is the exception, but I've seen (and experienced) several instances like that. People jumping to conclusions because 'hitting back" at low paying employees (who they consider below them) makes them feel good and superior. :/

That’s entirely different than the cancel mob, which is a mass of ideologically homogeneous hive-mind activists who can suffer no dissidents to their ever-shifting and contradictory creed. "Her content is good and she's funny though" No, even entertaining this kind of acceptance of what she *PROBABLY KNOWS - BECAUSE SHE IS VERY WELL-READ AND INTELLIGENT* - is evil (Maoist struggle sessions) is a bridge too far. Because - as a well-read and intelligent leftist - I assume Contra and others have also read the basic revolutionary texts.
They KNOW what they are doing when they preface genuine evil with "Well, Y'know, I've had this thought that, like, maybe... we could... have redemption... moments? Kinda thing?" No. They are arguing for struggle sessions. They all KNOW that their every public appearance is another inch leftwards of the overton window. They KNOW what they're doing.
These people are genuine, psychopathic, power-hungry evil people. How can we stop them though?
Source: Sorry it's anecdotal, but I know multiple friends whose parents were put through struggle sessions (EDIT: and I have spoken with them and asked them about what they were willing to share), and then I went and read about them. You think online cancellation is bad? Try spending a week tied up to a post with your entire neighbourhood shouting at you IN SHIFTS, in the street, so that you can't sleep about how "counter-revolution" you are, while sometimes-boiling or sometimes-frigid water is tossed on you to keep you awake. Because of that, she's leaning over more and more to that side of the spectrum (and I believe she was quite Left based on her content since I discovered her online). Also, the halo effect in the silo-ing of audiences on RUclipsr channels doesn't help a lot - audiences claiming their RUclipsr is the best thing since sliced bread, and every other RUclipsr that disagree is just plain wrong. The thing I don't get is that she's not exactly a younger RUclipsr - she should still remember the old newspaper and magazine articles covering all the consequences that that political ideology had on the regions of the world that was 'touched' by Marx.
I was quite disappointed to see her blasting the average Conservatives who was still trying to make an effort to reconcile with rational Democrats on a Leftie show (in a time period when both sides were equally in the wrong), and saying ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about what the Far Left was doing. Still love her comedy clips, but not sure I could watch anything else. :/

@@sigmacademy I can't speak for her but the far left's power is being projected by those spending their time whining about it. They're idiots on twitter, accept that they're there and move on. They don't represent leftists as a whole and they have no tangible power.
Also, I remember old newspaper articles, and current articles covering the consequences of Capitalism too. What's your point?

The thing people don't get is that consequences are supposed to be proportionate to the actions. Ruining someone's life with no chance of redemption is not a reasonable response to writing an offensive tweet 10 years ago. Though, I do find it a little funny when people who support cancel culture get it turned around on them.
Also, there's never a good reason to censor. Throughout history, the ones who've burned books have never been the good guys.

If I was watching that guy film the guy having a breakdown I'd have broken more than his nose.

Boycotting is not buying something you don’t like. Cancelling is snitching to platforms to have said thing removed.

Posting that recording of the man having a breakdown really reminds me strongly of bullies at school looking for any way possible to humiliate the "weird" kids in their class. I feel so disgusted just watching it.
The idea that ANYONE deserves that kind of treatment just because they made a mistake at work is seriously f***ed up.
