She’s right, and although she was clearly joking around here, there’s definitely more than a few seiyuu trying to otaku pander with the “I’m a shy loner” shtick. For the record, I don’t care what kind of personality they put on in public as long as it’s entertaining, but some are more convincing at it than others.
She really is Bocchi, her quirkiness, silly goofy character, her personality overall. I mean if we ever see Bocchi years ahead where she have grown into an adult in the manga (that's unlikely to happen) I imagine she would be like Yoppi san now
Usually when seiyuus were talking about their past, I always had the 90's in my mind. But, now, the seiyuus were the same age as me, so when they talked about mid/high school story, they were actually talking about the years when I actually lived. Feels weird.
Wait, I never thought about this until now…🤯 I just realised I was doing the exact same thing, thinking they’re talking about the 90s when they’re talking about high school. This comment literally blew my mind.
As Oregairu's Bocchi Radio coined the term, people like that are called "Business Bocchi" or B.B. for short. As implied, they are just Bocchi for business, just a facade to attract people, to be related, but in truth they live a reajuu life with an ikemen face.
@@albertochavez7631 Arararagi Koyomi at the start believed that. and then gradually came to realise through his own experiences and those he shared with others that he really need people in his life that he could lean on. lucky for him he learnt it early in life and grew out of that edgy loner phase before uni.
nah. The harem king is like a whole different level. He is basically just a great awkward bundle of massive social anxiety and introversion. I can force myself to be social when needed. I mean if it involves money at any rate. But the bro struggles with even that. like at events you can see just how uncomfortable he can be around others. I shit you not, I have seen him physically manhandled up to the center of the stage by a senpai to say something at a live after unsuccessfully trying to melt into the group of his colleagues. Then there was a clip from 1 radio I saw where a female seiyuu asked if Matsuoka didn't like her or something. I forget who they asked, was male and they have done a bunch with the bro. They responded that the dude was just uncomfortable around chicks he wasn't familiar with. So yea, pretty much Male Bocchi.
She may also be doing marketing by saying, "I didn't have any friends when I was in college." But I know she's an entertainer, so I don't mind and enjoy this radio show.
I feel she not lied with "I didn't have friends when I was in college" because her friends are from outside the uni like her seiyuu idols group she part of for example.
That's nothing which you should wish to an introvert. Having many friends is stressful. It's better to have few friends. Not no friends, but also not too many. The problem is that social interactions are usually draining for us. Usually there are _some_ exceptions though. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean that introverts are antisocial, it just means that we prefer to focus on less people.
AFAIK, JP seiyuu go through a crazy bootcamp thing that like all other parts of JP culture is crushingly hard and leaves you with no personal time. I think "having no friends" is very common in JP culture

So basically she fell to the vibe marketing those seiyuus did at the time lol
i love how 90% of this podcast seems to be yoppi sharing her Ls

Look at good parts, she voiced Bocchi!
I knew the Bocchi poster would be here 😂
Of course you'd be under any video that talks about BTR
Bruh, the whole not having friends thing just reminded me one of those anime characters that cut off bonds in order to get stronger. Sheesh~
like? Which ones?

Also there is a character called Kurai, Kako from Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu who is like that.
Nah bro Yoppi is hilarious XD
I think maybe that part of the non individualiastic culture is that even if you dont have friends you somehow manage to get along
I feel like she would get along with Matsuoka lol.

how would it be marketing to say you didn't have friends during college???
maybe the seiyuu back then actually didn't have friends until they made more "friends" after they've become seiyuu?? idk
She is the same type of people as our lord and savior the harem king
bruh she become bocchi in her real life, poor her i hope she got lot of friends right now after this and then
