Brilliant thanks, I wish I had known as I would have been very interested to film the building of these great traditional boats !

I visited these during the build and spoke with the boatwright building them, the biggest shock was the price of the completed build far less than i imagined compared with a fibreglass copy

Shame you didn't document the whole build there are still some young yorkshiremen who wish to build cobles but obviously the builders are happy taking there craft to the grave. The dory boat book by John Gardner preserved dory building in the east coast of Canada Shame we cannot do the same to our beloved Coble!

I believe one builder tried to get youngsters in to train them fully in the art but none were interested, a sign of the times? I blame no woodwork and metalwork craft lessons at schools! The Danish still offer wooden boat building apprenticeships, they have fleets of beautiful boats.
