    Finally some Fuseta love! Thanks for this video Nick. My family is from Fuseta and I've been visiting it since I was a small kid. This helps me relive great memories.

    Those are the Swallows(Andorinhas) at 20:10 ....That bird brings the begining of spring/summer in Portugal and by law you can't remove the nests or do any harm to those birds.

    Fuseta is beautiful, and so many nice boats there. A real nice place to walk and enjoy nature. Love it!

    Nice place, Nick. I like the details in the paving in the pedestrian area of town, reflecting the importance of the local fishing industry. Talking of paving, lucky for you that you're a Slim-Jim, any larger around the mid-section, you'd have trouble fitting on the sidewalk in some streets there! Take it easy on the Feijoada.

    Totally different in summer when the place is just busy, but not spoiled yet. Let’s hope it stays that way.

    Hi Nick, great video as usual. Fuseta has really positively changed over the past few years. Went on a beautiful walk yesterday myself...it's called the Terras da Ordem trail; it's just over 12 kilometres and starts just North of Odeleite. Highly recommended before it gets too hot!

      @@AlgarveAddicts Nick, I discovered this trail and many more in a super book from the Tourism Board called 'Guide to Algarve's Walking Trails'. Do you know of this publication? It's in English as an option.

    It is so quiet for 8:30 in the morning, nothing but the sound of doves, a few nesting birds and one lone cat 😉 Interesting how abruptly the city comes to an end, with the railway tracks demarcating the boundary or limit.
    Sorry to say, I have never spent any time in Fuseta, so it's great to join you on your morning walking tour. Thanks, Nick.
    SIDENOTE: Nothing to do with this tour, Nick, but are you able to tell me anything about buying a car in Portugal e.g. prices, electric vs gas, process etc?

    8:24 Buy tickets there to access the Islands !
    One of them, (a 5 min boat ride) has a DJ in the Summer and superb Passion fruit Sangria !

    09:12 For anyone who lives in central Algarve and has a boat/PWC , this is arguably the best place to launch and recover.
    (The slipway can get slippery at low tide, so don’t rely on a 2WD car at those times! )
    It may be tricky to find a parking space for your car after 09:30 in the Summer, so launch early and take a breakfast in one of the cafes?

    Thank you so much for all of your videos. I'm coming for two months end of Sept to The Algarve and staying in Portimao for one month. Could you recommend a good place that's a little busier where I may meet some other travellers/digital nomads like myself. I'm 52 and been searching for so long and just want the right place. This looks so peaceful but too quiet. Many thanks, Zoe :)

    I love this place. We come here every year. But i am surprized how empty ist is. We came here in November, January, April, August and September. I have never seen the seaside and the harbour like this.
    But the quiet life is going to end. Oncomming weekend a new crime series is going to start here on Germany TV: ARD (first German TV channel) prime time on saturday night. "Lost in Fuseta". It´s written after a VERY successful crime novel. 5 different novels meanwhile. I don´t know if it´s filmed on original sites in Fuseta but the name will become very well known.

      Interesting! Is it all in German or dubbed from English?

    • @godsowncountry3605
      @godsowncountry3605 2 года назад

      @@AlgarveAddicts It´s likely to be in German only. The protagonist (even the portuguese) are mainly played by german actors who look like southern Europeans. Only the supporting roles are Portuguese. German TV does this a lot. Italy, Turkey, Britain (!)= Rosamunde Pilcher, etc. But Lost in Fuseta recieved very postive reactions by the critis. I haven´t seen ist yet, because it will be starting on Saturday night. The plot is: A German police officer comes to Fuseta via an european exchange programm. Additionally he suffers from a mild to medium Asperger autism which results in a lot of personal and cultural (funny) clashes. He jars on the locals nerves but after some hurdles he gets part of the portugues team. First episode is about a murder within the water mafia. The author of the novels and the screenplay knows the Algarve very well. All locations in the books do exist in reality. Bar o Farol at the harboursite for example.

    Thanks for sharing your superb knowledge & Tips. Great Vlogs. I visit Olhao on Feb 17th-24th. As I've stayed everywhere else on Algarve. Love the place. Roll on Saturday. Take Care.

    Thanks for sharing. Initially I saw some nice homes on the west side of Fuseta but after visiting the village I found it really too much of a village for my taste. Even for basic groceries you'll end up taking the car and when I visited in December, the place felt dead with lots of shops, bars and restaurants closed for business.

    • @AlgarveAddicts

      Yep, it definitely dies down in winter into a quiet little seaside village.

    Is this a spoof video? Filmed at 8:30 am on a damp, cloudy March morning, this video couldn't make Fuseta look less appealing. This is a vibrant but relaxed village, especially popular in summer when people flock from all over Portugal to enjoy the lagoon beach and the island (Ilha da Armona), yet it comes across as a shabby, tired ghost town in this video.
    I've owned property in Fuseta for 16 years and am astonished at how unappealing you've made it look. I guess I should be pleased really as I wouldn't want it to get any busier! For a more balanced perspective of Fuseta, I suggest viewers start here - ruclips.net/video/V82cP6_QQUU/видео.html

      Hahah, Ian it's real life. Not a manufactured airbrushed look at something that may not always be like that.

    • @maxflight777
      @maxflight777 2 года назад

      Wow Ian … I must have watched a different video!
      I have friends who live in Fuseta and I know it well.
      Much of the town itself, is “Portuguese shabby”.
      The sunny blue skies in the video reflect well on the place ! I think Nick “nailed it “.
      It’s not that highly thought of, and although prices for property have risen a smidge, it’s very cheap.
