If I had to recomend another anime about war, I would go for Youjo Senki. Is set in WWI, filled with a lot of magic nonsense, which makes it epic, but I would for once enjoy a regular war anime, without mágical girls and mechas. Anyway, youjo senki was apparently very popular, it is well animated, and the plot is interesting. So far I watched till the 3rd chapter before finals started, but it seems good overall
