I think they're hard to use because there's really no way to clean off the pencil from them. I've literally assigned ends of my tortillas for colors and graphite because of this.

I think it would be a neat idea if you both went to an art store, buy a few few little art materials for each other and make a drawing with the supplies you bought for each other. It'll cost a little bit of money but it'll make for a cool doodle date in my opinion.

Started at 4 yrs old and I wouldn't swap them for anything else when sketching or working out a project, or pre line work. I've recently returned to oils, so I've just bought Sepia and senna colour sketch pencils for my canvas as graphite tends to shift and move, mixing with your paint in an inconvenient way... Love the doodles, thanks for the smiles and the duck lol x
Funnily enough, oils are one of the few mediums I've never tried before! Our house is pretty small though so it's probably a secret blessing I haven't got addicted to working on huge canvases (yet) :) Hopefully one day I'll be able to give it a try, it looks fun! & wasn't that such a pleasant duck haha!

I'm a budget artist and used to use the same sketch pads as you from the works till I was in hobbycraft the other week and they have these new sketch pads. they are called West design and are pastel shades on the cover. and range from £1-£4 a pad and are such good quality and seeing as you have almost finished your sketch pads it seemed a good idea to let you know.
