Topo recently became my new favorite shoe brand 🔥🔥 Topo has the "Altra" philosophy of wide comfy toe box following the foot shape, but the shoes are way lighter & the midsole is far more responsive. I currently own the Cyclone2 & the Specter, which is awesome!!
Thank you for this video, you’re one of the few influencers that I watch before purchasing any shoes. Please don’t stop this great work and value add you provide to the running community. These shoe companies should be paying you!
I am so glad you agreed to review the Topo Atmos. I've been enjoying the Topo Cyclone 2 and was looking for an easy run / long run partner. It looks like I found it, thanks to your review!
Never heard of this shoe until it was recommended by a buying guide recently. Really happy I found this awesome video by you to give details about it- great stuff!
Really like Topo shoes. I have a mix of ASICS and Topo. But slowly going more towards Topo. ASICS does a good job with the foot shape especially at the 5th metatarsal
Bought the Cyclone 2s based off of your review and love them! Since then, I bought the Phantom 3s as my daily trainers and will get the Atoms for my long/recovery run!! Look forward to seeing if they will drop a marathon shoe soon! Love your content!!!
Topo just announced a second version of the Specter to be released mid 2024. It will have a full pebax outsole just like the Cyclone 2, but with a much higher stack height. I guess the Specter 2 will be their marathon shoe.
Thx Mike. In your intro, you mentioned the Topo Cyclone 2. According to sources from TRE, Topo is coming out with a Topo Spectre 2, which will be a higher-stack, yet lightweight, non-plated racing shoe. I look forward to your review of that shoe, if it happens. Cheers
Great review as always. Interesting comparison to the more v4. When I saw the stack of the topo I thought it would feel similar, but you did a great job describing the difference in stability feel which helps a lot.
You can kind of tell from the low number of comments that Topo is still struggling to make its mark in the shoemmunity. But maybe this means I'll be able to score an incredible deal on a pair some day.
I had a bad experience with my first pair of Topo trail shoes. Made my heel hurt, were hot as hell in hot weather and were awful in wet weather. I’m gonna try the Atmos and Mtn Racer 3 and see how they go.
Commenting before I watch this rn - I hope it’s good because I ordered it last night! I’m getting sensitive to these tiny ass toe boxes in a lot of shoes! Couldn’t even make the 1080v13 work for me.
Currently running in the Atmos and the Altra Via Olympus 2. The Olympus 2 is zero-drop and a tad heavier than the Atmos, but underfoot these shoes feel so similar it's uncanny (to me, anyway). Both great shoes!
Topo has some solid offerings out right now. The Cyclone 2 and Specter are pretty light for what they're doing, too. I'm going to have to go try them on and see how they feel on foot.
I’m not a runner but a walker. I have flat feet and currently recovering from injuries related to flat feet. Based on the research I’ve done so far I think these would be a good sturdy supportive shoe for the problem I’m experiencing. What is your opinion on these as far as arch support, flat feet and just everyday walking? Thanks 😊
Seen this rec a few other places, but: Keen WK400 (TTS) plus an Inov8 Boomerang insole (size half up from the Keens). Elastic laces make them a sweet slip-on
Foot issues here too. I ADORE the men's WP TrailVenture!! I cannot tell you how comfortable and supportive they are. And yes, I use them for everyday city walking. Lovely toe box. The women's may be narrower.
Great review! I’ve been curious about this shoe. I adore my Cyclones for workouts and racing under 10K (nailed a 5K PB in them). I’ve also got a pair of Specters that I’ve been less enthused about. I’m not quite sure where or how they fit into my current rotation. They seem to be perfect for strides, but too stiff for daily runs and easier efforts. Not a racer either. Merely ok for longer efforts. Glad to hear the Atmos isn’t stiff, but at that price point I’m tempted to wait for the Triumph 22 to drop in the spring.
Hi Kofuzi, Love your reviews! I been running in a pair of Topo Atmos for less than 100 miles. On a 19-mile run, about mile 12, I started to get a hot spot on the outer edges of my feet below the pinky toes. Any suggestions what I can do to avoid getting hot spots? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
From a channel that is in love with the vaporfly, a super narrow mid foot shoe 🙄 narrow compared to the forefoot…sure. I have a wide ish foot and these are actually foot shaped. Roomy but not overly so in forefoot and well fitting through the arch and heel. I think they would feel pretty sloppy if the midfoot had much more room.
Awesome mr Kofuzi....always follow your contents. At moment now i like to running with low pulse . it's good?... and any advice from you. thanks....👍👍👍🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️❤️
Search low HR + Kofuzi on RUclips. I’ve made a bunch of videos. But keep in mind I’m not a coach. There are also books and coaches that will be more suitable instructors. My videos are more of a documentation of the journey
I love Topo shoes. But unfortunately the ATMOS is disappointing. The first 100 miles were great. But then consistently at around 45 minutes my feet get really hot. It feels like they are too squishy causing friction. However, they are great for short recovery runs
Thoughts on how the Atmos compares to the Endorphin Shift? The stack heights and drops are similar but I’m guessing the Shift feels lighter, but stiffer and perhaps less stable?
I don’t think these two are comparable at all. Shift was much firmer and more stable with heavy reliance on the rocker to move forward. These are much softer without as much roll forward. Feel the totally different under foot both running and walking
@@kofuzi aaah I see so they are both like easy run/recovery shoe, would that be the case for altra via Olympus 2 and torin 7. Thank you so much for the reply
Im using Hoka Clifton 8 for my daily runs and fun runs. Now i frequently join 10km fun runs, currently my average time is about 1.5hours to finish, would you recommend other shoe to use to up my time or is the clifton 8 enough? If there are, can you recommend older models as they are cheaper in outlets. Thanks
Clifton9 everyday trainer,i have topo ultraventure 3 trail, its pretty good,i see you ran on some dirt or tra8l with the atmos, traction? Wet slippery? Concrete wet? Anyway im not going to knock to many shoes cuz todaybwe are all spoiled most shoes are pretty good nowadays, im 62 so ibran in blocks back in the day haha,i lean more towards cushioned shoes with a little pop ,but if a lil heavier i dont care as long as at the end of my run im still good for tomorrow and not like oh s__t i need 2 days off to rest my shins, anyway thank you great info
It seems pretty obvious he created this review before going to TRE. TRE previews (such as from BITR) are just starting to show up here and should be increasing in number every day. Wait.
You seem to be landing more mid foot rather than forefoot like I believe I usually see from you. Am I wrong? IF not, is there a reason for this? Thank you
Atmos offers wide, but not Cyclone 😞 Altra no longer wide, and fall apart fast 😞 Topo runners are 5mm drop 😞 Anyone know of a 0-Drop 4E foot-shaped pebax foam runner in 11/11.5 mens? lmk!

topo toebox is the one!, and their rubber outsole dont rub out like altras...

It will be a very different experience, but a good complement
Great to see Topo getting some❤ I’m a big fan of Alta and Topo- happy feet always 🏃🏻♀️Thanks 😊
Topo is making some good shoes. I’m excited for what’s next
these sound intriguing .. topo coming up huge. they have had a smaller following .., but its growing now.
keep up the great work TOPO

I didn’t think it was gonna be a racing shoe
Def need to get into the TOPO line up soon!

I'm a big Topo fan. I wish they would send more of there shoes to Australia. We still haven't seen Cyclone 2, Phantom 3, so hopefully we see this one.
🤞

@@meGTrxUGA After two months, I lean towards the Olympus - it's a bit more flexible than the Atmos. But I still enjoy both!
Easy to see why Topo is popular among the ultra crowd.
It kinda reminds me of the brooks Glycerin 18 which were my all time favourite for a while
I’ve run in a couple different glycerine. This doesn’t remind me of a glycerine at all
The 18 were the best Glycerins. I stopped after the 19…

I'd go for NB More v4 ( $99 ) over Topo / Hoka .
But nb don't have a wide toe box right
Topo atmos or Saucony Triumph 21 ?
I wish they would make women’s size 5. Please let them know!
Just yesterday, I got my first Topo pair of shoes... for the trails/hikes...
Hope you enjoy!

Thomas from BITR said it was a little narrow in the midfoot region near the arch and he has narrow feet. Any issue with yours?
no issues, but I understand where he's coming from

Does anyone know how high the arch is in the Topo Atmos? Topo arches tend to bother me a bit as a flat footed individual
which shoe do u recommend from them as a distance runner putting in many miles a week?

How does it compare against the novablast 4? (i'm really interested in the 4s, can't wait to try it)
It might be more appropriate to compare the Novablast 4 to the Topo Specter.
Novablast 4 is a squishy daily trainer. It’s going to be very different than this
This or wait for the specter 2 as my daily trainer? I have new balance more v4 as my recovery shoe already
I think there would be a lot of use case overlap between Atmos and More
