    Thanks for the review. This seems like a great display. I wish we had a 27" 16:10 ratio monitor in 4K resolution. I am using the SW240 since past couple of years and it's a solid display. I use Dci-P3 colour mode, but it's too saturated and high contrast. So, I have to reduce "vibrance" and contrast to have a soothing look. I wish the SW242Q was available back then. The jump in resolution and USB-C is really advantageous.

    • @ArtIsRight
      @ArtIsRight  6 месяцев назад +1

      Remember that if you are on Mac you would run this at scale resolution. if you are on a PC you would set it to zoom inteface. This would be the same story as 27" 4K or 5K and 32" 4K or 6K or 8K on both Mac and PC. If you like to use the display natively without scaling, then I would recommend SW272Q - 27" 2K :)

    I'm glad they brought this out. I commented on this channel late last year about lack of choices for the sw/photo line. it's unfortunate that is a 24 inch because this really needs to be a 27 inch 4K model, with proper retina resolution. dealing with apples scaling is a pain in the butt sometimes but not all the time.
    I probably would have bought this if this was out late last year but I went with a 32"LG instead.

      @@ArtIsRight Yes that's true.. I haven't looked in a while, however I don't remember it has retina level of dpi, and it was $1,000 more than this model more or less.

    Hi Art, I have some questions to ask. Thank you for your help.
    1) I'm using Spyder X to calibrate my SW240. The Spyder X has a small flashing light. Should it flicker or not during calibration? Mine doesn't flicker during calibration. Is this normal?
    2) What is 'xy' and u'v' in Pallet Master Ultimate software? Which one should I choose?
    3) I select V4, Absolute Zero for black, gamma 2.2, white point 6500k, brightness 120 and Panel Native in the settings. Are they correct?
    4) What is the black and white mode of the SW240 screen used for? Can it be interpreted as a black-and-white interpretation of a color image? Or should I stick with the b&w mode in Photoshop as a true black and white interpretation of a color image?
    5) Can the black color of the screen background be considered Maximum Black? Can it be considered also the maximum black in Photoshop?

    • @ArtIsRight
      @ArtIsRight  4 месяца назад +1

      1. I can't recall if the light is on or not, but as long as it calibrates it does not matter if the light is on, off or flashing. It could simply be the LED going bad.
      2. You can just choose XY for the most part.
      3. Yes
      4. For the most part I would just stick with PS or your editing software, way more practical
      5. For the display, if you have the black set to 0 0 0 then yes that is the max for the display

    Are you still making a review video? And can this be calibrated with the original Xrite i1 Display Pro? I’m currently deciding between this and the new Eizo CS2400s. Upgrading my beloved NEC PA242, a somewhat lateral move if I get the Eizo with addition of USB-C. I’m a bit concerned about the BenQ quality control, but at $479 vs $889, it seems worth the risk. The BenQ has a card reader, increased resolution, and 90w vs 70w power delivery….very enticing.

    Hi Art, thanks for making/uploading, it’s wonderful to see a 24” model with USB-C connectivity. I’m not sure if you remember, but I had the issue of upgrading to the new ultimate software where sadly the profile was way over oversaturated, I’m still using the old elements software. Have you heard of anybody having the same issue or was the ultimate software updated so it shouldn’t be an issue going foward? Just had a question. I have a 16 inch MBP with M1. With the display size, does having a high resolution display make it hard to see on this? I tried out a 4k 27 inch monitor awhile back and this was the case and had to return it. Just wondering if it will be easy to see on this. I believe this is related to pixel density though not too sure. I remember having to decrease the resolution of the monitor to make my eyes not strain which seemed to defeat the purpose of such a high res monitor. Any feedback is appreciated. Great content!

    • @ArtIsRight
      @ArtIsRight  5 месяцев назад

      At native resolution it is going to be easier to see compared to 27" 4K running at native resolution which I don't recommend doing. And yes it is related to the idea of Pixels per inch and how many are there.

    • @ArtIsRight

      Great questions; for the best result, the air should occupy 1 slot and mini on another because these computers output the signal slightly differently. You can, however, use the same connection cable for both of the computers. The connection cable has nothing to do with the hardware calibration slots. Hope this clarifies things.
