that was definitely a spooky story to listen, i never knew there was an older steam tram engine that use to work on toby's old line before he even arrived. at least you did a nice job on doing the audio story.
Tristan found peace I feel after the old manager was sacked and Toby and Henrietta being saved by Sir Topham Hatt somewhere in the afterlife Tristan is dealing with the spirit of one of his own Roger
I will say this. As your stories go, this one is very good, but also very confusing. I find it hard to understand how the subplots about Toby's arrogance and the mean-spirited lorry driver tie into the theme of how all engines deserve whistles and bells, and how a whistle is a sign of respect. Nevertheless, you succeeded in spinning a pretty chilling tale. Tristan was such a tragic character. And his end was not like others' such as Albert, 98642 or 87546 in that he did nothing to bring it on, which only made it more gut-wrenching. May Gawdry bless his soul.
Ah, thanks! I really like a good ghost story myself, and felt it was time for a change from the ghosts being of those who caused their own fates. My apologies if the subplots didn’t quite fit in - I’ve just been so busy with work that I guess I forgot to explain their significance. However, I have an idea for a sequel which may explain their significance a little more (I don’t normally do sequels, unless I feel there is a need for one, as may well be the case here). Thanks, all the same, man!
@@TARDIS9 i look forward to seeing it! I don't think the anguished cries of Tristan in his dying moments will ever leave my head. In your opinion, do all engines go through that level of agony when they're scrapped?
I’d guess so. It probably depends on how it all happens, and whether they’re even conscious at the time (considering some were scrapped after an accident that left them beyond repair). My apologies for not answering this sooner - lot of stuff irl has been happening to me as of late. Thanks! :)
Erm, actually, no it doesn’t. Around 1945-6, Toby was still working with his brothers in a harbour during the events of ‘Toby’s Seaside Holiday’, and had yet to arrive on the tramway in the first place. By 1951, the tramway had closed and Toby was sent to Sodor. Therefore, his flashback takes place AFTER World War II, specifically from 1945-1951!
Well, actually, not deliberately. It was kinda a little bit more out of me thinking of a book character called Tristram Shandy. I just liked the name and felt it made a fitting parallel to Toby. However, I do see what you mean - it does also seem appropriate that his name has the word ‘tram’ in it! ;)
This story makes "A Fine Place For Sick Engines" seem satirical.
I love how the cadence of the whispering is that of a steam engine puffing

Does anyone still think Tristan still haunts the area even after the tramway closed? Or do they think that his spirit has finally moved on?
He moved on he finnaly had peace
Nah I think he's still there after all he said he didn't want to die and haunts the tramway, maybe just maybe he finally has tramway again.

WOW!
What a story! Outstanding! And Toby is right about bells and whistles being a sign of respect.
Nice and chilling story my friend
*Wow this was really good!! Can’t wait for more stories like this in the future*
Chilling, but impressive
That was a chilling story
That was horrifying! So fearsome!
the wispering scared me
Fantastic story! This the kind of content I wanna see and hear.
Amazing work

@@TARDIS9 you doing amazing job doing Tristan’s Screaming
One last question about Tristram, what would say was his approximate life span, from when he was built until he was scrapped?
Toby’s Flashback took place between 1932-1939 prior to World War II.
Erm, actually, no it doesn’t. Around 1945-6, Toby was still working with his brothers in a harbour during the events of ‘Toby’s Seaside Holiday’, and had yet to arrive on the tramway in the first place. @@TARDIS9Well that was my head cannon idea of when the flashback could take place.
Oooh loving the new mic! Although the old one will always be nostalgic
Was the old manager's main reason for scrapping Tristan to cover the money he had embezzled?
I’d say so. That, and also Toby was the more powerful engine, so he saw no need for Tristram anymore.
@@TARDIS9 oh, Tris-Tram! Is that a play on the words Tristan and Tram?

One question: After seeing Diamond Jubilee Engines Part 1, I have a question. Are Diesel and Denise friends?
I recommend listening to the whole of Diamond Jubilee Engines Part 2 to find that one out! ;)
