Thank you so much! My “trainer” when I got my pump - never told me about putting air into the cartridge! I was up at 2 in the a.m. getting help by phone & found this out - he told me to go to RUclips to see this. VERY helpful!
Thank you for that, what I was taught how to load the cartridge was wrong, and I have had uncontrolled sugars for months now. Woke up last night to it saying it was empty, iwas able to draw 140 units out of the cartridge, woke with a sugar at 488. Finally today got the my pump back running.
Many thanks for these videos. I had in-person training, but it was fast and the trainer did a lot of it for me. I appreciate how slowly you go through this. I could watch and insert and fill and load at the same time. Great videos--very professional, easy to understand, and reassuring. Thank you!
Thank you for this. I’m a new pump user and I’ve watched this several times…to guide me as I fill the cartridge and then on the other days to become as familiar as possible with the process. Your explanation is clear, helpful, and thorough.
As a Mom who has a little 8 year old with type one who just started the t slim this video was so much more helpful than the actual tandem videos. Thank you so much it gives me so much anxiety I never know where to start videos are life haha
The problem with the the cartridge is the filling port is so small my husband can not see the tinny tiny port to fill. He hates this system. The Medtronic was much easier and he was independent with his pump. I must also say I like the system due to the reports it gives
I’m a Medtronic defector. Changing a site was so easy absolutely. I recently changed to Tandem t:slim. Love it. The site change procedure, not so much. I did bite the bullet and splurged on a Cierta gizmo that lines up the reservoir and syringe so the needle lines up with the tiny white port every time.
Your videos are fabulous. I am having trouble with the air process in the cartridge resulting in having to fill tubing over and over resulting in screen that says “cartridge has to have over 50 cc’s do you want to add more insulin. I add more and then get screen fill tubing which wastes insulin. Any advice? I have been on Tandem since middle of August.
If you are asking whether to throw insulin out from an old cartridge that is being replaced, then yes, you would throw away any remaining insulin. I would not recommend mixing old insulin with new insulin. If you have a lot left over every time, then try and fill cartridge with less. Just remember that the min fill is 85u.

Well done I liked it the most because no distracting music is piped in as it is in so many other videos.

Very helpful tips and reminders. Advice when you are finishing one bottle and starting a new based on your steps here

Best teacher/coach yet. Informative.

Thank you! Let me know if you’d like me to explain any other processes or features that you may not be familiar with. Glad it was helpful 💕

Thank you for this demonstration! I have been doing it wrong for the last 2 month I have been on this pump
Excellent demonstration 😊
Amazing video thank you so much. The tandem videos don’t do near as much good as this video. I subbed and hope to learn more from you
So very helpful. Thank you.
intelligent trainer. 👍
So, So Helpful!
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks you so very much. The Tandem video was very confusing for me.

I called Tandem. I was doing the air wrong. Things are better now.
Very nice
Do you still add air if using new bottle of insulin?
Yes, Maria. You will feel more pressure, but it will make getting the insulin out easier.
You always add the air.
Do you remove insulin from cartridges or just throw it away?
