As a Lupe Stan, it's exciting for him to even mention Double Burger With Cheese (among other mixtape tracks). So much greatness in the guy's catalog that it feels wrong to chain him down to a conversation about one project, song, bar. But DAMN what the bars, songs, and projects are so hard, can you blame us?
@@Chi910 Love that song also, such insightful commentary. Wasn't it originally supposed to make the cut for F&L 2 btw or was it just another loosie track from him?
I wish lupe would see one of my comments. I stay blasting his name all over RUclips, especially reaction channels. Dude does not get the recognition he deserves. He's one of the best artists of all time. Conceptually he's a demon, his words and I agree lol. There are obviously great cases of storytelling in hip-hop but I don't think there has ever been something quite like what he did with the michael young history saga. That alone was incredible. And then add in some of his other conceptual songs like WAV files...how many rappers have anthropomorphic schemes 👀😆 if anyone by chance reads this comment and is big lupe fan do yourself a favor and listen to his single go to sleep. Its one of my all time favorite songs by him and if you like rock too, look up japenese cartoon. My favorite is gasp.
I personally disagree, as a listened. “Food & Liquor” for my era is my eras “illmatic”, and “the cool” is my era’s “It was written”, the best comparison I can think of, I’m 30 years old btw, was in middle and high school when those albums dropped, the cool dropped in high school for me. His mixtapes are very dope tho, don’t get me wrong.
This reminds me of a conversation me and my boy had waaaay back when The Cool first dropped. We were both obsessed with the album and I made the comment that I may have to put him in my top 10 of all time but I feel I should wait to test his longevity. And my friend said Lupe is definitely a top 10 rapper and if he'd come out in the right era where he fits with Jay and Nas then he'd easily be top 5 even.
I always say that lupe is the best mc of his generation. In my opinion, there is no mc born in the 80s or 90s better than lupe. Not k dot, not j cole🙄 And to me j cole is just ok. (But i mentioned him bcz everyone seems to think hes a top tier mc-- even tho hes not lol)... And for my real hip hop heads: lupes better than king los and daylyt .. Remember: im saying out of ppl born in the 80s or 90s-- which qualifies as lupes generation. And lupes NOT even my favorite mc. Im just capable of objectively analyzing the genre i love..

Lupe the Jedi and enemy of the state 😎
Lol in no world is friend of the people a classic mixtape… Let alone one of Lupe’s best
Double burger with cheese is still one of my favorite Lupe songs 😭
Um yeah we know that. And Food & Liquor was a 10/10
On Cup of Jayzus he did say “I feel my best work was album zero”

I feel like Lupe was the right MC who came out at the wrong time
He Actually Came out at the Right time. Because he's what hip hop needed back in '06.
@@Juiceish1 ...and NOW!
@@dfree1442 Yeah bro. Its sad that its been 16 years since then and Still Nothing has Changed. SMDH.
@@Juiceish1 if he came out in 2010 he would be mentioned with kendrick cole etx

Before There Were Lasers is the top Lupe Mixtape and one of the last great mixtapes of that era of Hip Hop/ Rap
Lupe fiasco street rap go hard, double entendre, theme songs
6:18 Go Go Gadget Flow definitely had a mixtape feel to it.
For sure it does, he used that same flow and some of the exact same lyrics on Don’t Get it Twisted off of Revenge of the Nerds. Both great songs
My favorite Lupe album the great American rap album
Very underrated classic album
Fans are dumb Lupe first two albums got some classics when it comes to awareness and consciousness
ROTN!!! 🔥🔥
I can actually agree
Are they on datpiff??
The Cool 👌

Tetsuo & Youth >
