This brings back so much memories of my childhood when we had dhikrs often, lately life is so modern that we seldom know of dhikr going around in our family. Gosh I have sudden tears now just thinking about my late dad and grandmother... May Allah SWT grant them all Janaat ul firdos inshaAllah.
Maasha Allah! Really does bring back memories, when Gadat was a weekly thing. I'm living in London for the last 12years but listening to this always takes me back home. Maasha Allah. Shiekh Dilawar doing what he does best!! May Allah reward you , Inshaa Allah.
Mashallah absolutely beautiful. Took me back about 25 years ago when I was in Primary school. How I miss Thursday night 'gedat' . Our kids dont really know it. We were so blessed back then . Shukran to mlna khan and dilawar and all others for keeping our heritage alive
maa shaa Allah - beautiful melodious sounds.... may Almighty Allah reward those who made it possible for us to enjoy, in shaa Allah ameen. makes me miss two very wonderful people... My late parents...Hadj Abdurahgiem Salie and Hadj Nabowia Salie - this was a regular Thursday night drill from as long as I can remember. Alhamdulilah. May Almighty Allah reward all our parents who kept us on the straight path with the koedrat of the almighty Allah.
This is really good, but can barely hear the crowed. Can only really hear the ones with the mike. If you record this again, then please make it so that the crowed can also be heard reciting.
Stellenbosch Masjid. The one near the university campus. Also the only one in Stellenbosch I think... Nobody does this much anymore. I know it's just post COVID lockdown but it's sad to see the links between Cape Malay culture and Islam die especially when Islam is a corner stone of the Cape Malay identity
Mohamad Ceraj you should really go even if only every other time. It's only when you're older and have lost some dear ones that you draw back on these memories. insha'Allah hope you take this advice.
creationsfromrubbish I started following the salafi way as a teenager and I have since moved to Saudi Arabia and Qatar where salafi Islam is the state religion

What's with the extended madd on the ayatul kursi? Sounds so weird and it's like singing. In Tarim they never read like this

I’m probably the only person in Cape Town who at 12 years old refused to go to such gatherings
