Has anyone noticed this song is a tribute to Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe? Maugrim is the witch's wolf general, the “lady who shadows the sun” is the witch who turns Narnia into eternal winter and destroys her home world charn with a solar eclipse, and turns everyone to stone in Narnia. The children (Edmond specifically) also are in love with the dessert called turkish delight. I love her even more for making this song and making it sound so magical too!
I had no clue, is it for sure a tribute or just a crazy coincidence? I read the book as a kid in the 90s and saw the first movie back when it first came out around ‘06 but can’t recall much of the dialogue at this point. Very cool if it’s a tribute, thanks for pointing that out
Omg! i was in another page on internet and i had played this playlist and when i return on youtube page I thought that was a record in studio so it was perfect but no it was a live.. Such a great talent, Susanne deserve to be more famous.. ! Love her
I still like the studio version better... with the theramin and celeste intro/outro. But that's just a matter of having extra instruments/musicians on stage. Her singing and keyboarding is still on point here.
Angels are lost in the sooted fog Of a million fallen dots on a disc of mud All the closets forgotten All the lakes are frozen Well if eternal winter, if eternal snow I'll have a Turkish delight I've got the freeze, they offer me holy wine It gets me through the night The moon lingers on and shines down Upon the shroud that covers both the living and the dead Of a forgotten empire You better kneel, you better kneel down Before the lady, the shadows of sun And if eternal winter, if eternal snow I'll have a Turkish delight I've got the freeze, they offer me holy wine It gets…
@viperlikescat The first album was called "Susanne Sundfør", the second album "Take One" (which was a rerecording of the first album, in aucoustic version), and this is her third album "The Brothel".
@sleppnynorskenfri Absolutely. Haven't read it, but there are lots of references I think. The title, the bit about forgotten closets, and snow/frozen/eternal winter, and people turned into stone, Maugrim, and the Lady shadowing the sun...
@pornofashion one question, is that her debut-album? i am from germany and here they said this would be her debut-album, but some songs i found on youtube that are not in this album. and this such a great live-performance! many artist cannot sing live, but she's awesome :D
she should be as famous as Adele. I'm sorry like she's a freaking genius. I feel like if she came out with her music in 1995 she would have been at least as famous as Tori Amos. Except Susanne is a better producer and has more interesting lyrics.
i'm turkish and i've never had something this much delightful. thanks susanne.

Her timing and intonation in this song are perfect! It really grabs me!!! I listen to this every so often and it always gives me goosebumps
Yes, the whole Brothel album does it for me, but this is the one I can't get out of my head the most :)
same :D
It's stunning how clean and precise her singing is. It's pitch perfect. And the runs are absolutely perfect. Amazing.
I am speechless at the intensity and depth of this version 😵💙

This song is simply marvelous. This rendition is breath taking. The best song on The Brothel! :) You are a goddess Miss Sundfør! A song goddess!
Angels are lost in the sooted fog
Of a million fallen dots on a disc of mud
All the closets forgotten
All the lakes are frozen
Well if eternal winter, if eternal snow
I'll have a Turkish delight
I've got the freeze, they offer me holy wine
It gets me through the night
The moon lingers on and shines down
Upon the shroud that covers both the living and the dead
Of a forgotten empire
You better kneel, you better kneel down
Before the lady, the shadows of sun
And if eternal winter, if eternal snow
I'll have a Turkish delight
I've got the freeze, they offer me holy wine
It gets…
her music forces you to close yourself into your deepest pits and yet contemplate the mountains

Definitely! This song is inspired by Narnia. Good thing my kids are just about to start exploring that literature!
I thought Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine had the most beautiful voice ever.... man was I wrong!
Vakreste stemmen ever!

Susanne makes Adele and Tori look silly, her music is on a completely different level imo
@@acidshrooms true 😆
Is it a cover or is this from Susanne Sundfoer ? Thanks.
Hey hey This is Susanne Sundfør singing her own song. :)
