Your video on washing your hair in braids and/or 2 strand twist actually saved my hair, I can't thank you enough for that video bc I wash and deep condition my hair once a week...what a game changer, I'm actually keeping my hair on my head and not on the shower floor. I went on a hair journey (I’m natural) in 2016. I’m at hip length now, but that’s not the issue. I sleep on silk or satin pillow cases every night. I used to also wrap my hair up in a silk or satin scarf or wear a satin-lined sleep cap. However, I noticed much more itching when I did that because not enough air was getting to my scalp. I stopped covering my head at night about a year ago. I only wrap it at night if I have a silk press or other style I’m trying to preserve, which is rare.
    I’m so glad I watched your video and saw you in a hair net. It never occurred to me to wear one at night. It’s the perfect solution to cutting down on friction and allowing my scalp to breathe at the same time. I just ordered some on Amazon. Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

    My hair has been down to almost waist length in the past. Life kind of got in the way and I was not taking daily care of my hair so it broke off. I did a big chop a few months ago and starting my hair care journey again. For me, I use products that do not have any alcohol in them, and a few all-natural organic products I make myself. They are not expensive products, however, they do work for me. Yes, moisturizing the scalp every other day is great and I massage my scalp every day. I do low manipulation as well. I am blessed to work full-time from home. And if I don't have to go on a Zoom meeting, my hair stays in my silk bonnet all day. Most important is daily care and before you know it your hair will be down your back. Thanks for the video!👍😊

When i was natural, I washed like every 4-6 months!! I was scared of the tangling, that was a looonnnggg time ago!! @@IannaYvonne I received my oil and scarf yesterday 9/1/23. I applied the oil to my hair. My natural new growth drank it up. It was really too oily on my relaxed hair. I’m slow to put this on my scalp because I’m so oily already. But, eventually I will apply it to see if it clogs my pores. I’m thinking that I will use the Unlay and Rosemary as a scalp treatment before wash. I love the scarf. I will continue to keep you posted. I’m applying Unlay to my granddaughters hair tonight.

    You’re doing it right. It would come in a v shape, since the back is at the back of the head ( lower end) and the front is on top of the head, therefore, it would appear shorter but it’s not. It’s just coming from a longer distance, if you understand what I mean. Keep up the good work.

      Hello. Thanks so much for watching. I leave my hair alone as much as possible. If i can wrap it and leave it I will do that for DAYS at a time. If I air dry my hair and it’s simply in a bun I will moisture and seal every few days. Not really combing the hair… just running the product along the length of my hair.
      I will use both leave-ins at the same time. They serve to different purposes. The Moroccan oil leave in moistures, softens and smells amazing. The living proof keeps the hair strong. Hope that helps 💕

      @mrsx7944 10 месяцев назад

      @IannaYvonne thank you for answering my questions. I never thought about using two leave ins at once but im going to try it.
      Is it very hard to air dry when you're close to relaxer time? I would think the new growth would be troublesome. I am going to start air drying.

    Your hair looks great and definitely hair goals! Not sure if you’ve answered it before, but how often do you use the living proof repair? Or do you alternate with the shea moisture? With the shea moisture, do you spray all over your hair or mostly focus on the ends?

    • @IannaYvonne
      @IannaYvonne  Год назад +2

      Hello. Thank you for watching ❤️ I use the living proof leave in once a week when I moisturize and seal. If I notice breakage I will use daily until I see a decrease.
      I focus mostly on the ends when I moisturize my hair.
      I have a “week in my hair vlog” on my channel if your interested where I show my moisturize/ seal routine. It hasn’t really changed except I don’t always use steam.

    Ianna, your hair is GORGEOUS and so are you! ❤🤗 My relaxed hair is waist length and grows in a v shape just like yours. However, that v shape makes me feel like it’s slightly “see through” at the V. I had a trim 2 months ago and searched and destroyed 2 weeks ago. Do you think the v shape gives this thinning appearance?

    • @IannaYvonne
      @IannaYvonne  Год назад +2

      Hello! Thank you for watching ❤️The V Shape will definitely give you a more tapered appearance to the ends but should not have a “damaged “ look to the actual stands. The best why to determine if it’s damaged ends or just a tapered look is to look at the hair when it is air dried/without heat. Using heat can mask the damage. Much more obvious on air- dried hair (or blow dry on cool). If the hair is damaged there with be a noticeable area of demarcation where the hair suddenly becomes see through. If no damage… it will just have the V shape. Again this is best seen with no/ minimal heat application.
      Hope that helps

    From your experience, is there a difference in how the hair comes out when using optimum relaxer vs ORS relaxer. I used ORS before, and it was ok, I want to know if the optimum might be better.

    • @IannaYvonne
      @IannaYvonne  Год назад +1

      Hello!! Thanks so much for watching ❤️ The main selling point for me with the optimum relaxer is it’s ceramides for hair strengthening and the scalp protectant that comes in the package. I actually use it on the length of my hair to coat/protect it as I relax. Since doing this I experience almost no post relaxer breakage. With the ORS my hair was breakage so much I thought it was normal.

      Hello! Thank you for watching! I have seen that new studies show that women who relax more than 4 times per year or more likely to develops uterine cancer. It’s definitely a risk. I stretch my relaxers to around even 4-5 months so I usually relax 2 or 3 times annually.
      There a risk of cancer is almost everything you do, even down to what foods you eat. Overall I live a pretty healthy life so feel my risk is low. Continuing with relaxers for now, but may stop in the future.

      Honestly the way that people have taken that study out of context is really harming. I believe that with the results of the study was with people who relaxed more than 3-4 times in a year. So I personally used to relax every 3 months because the new growth would just be unmanageable. But I’m working with my hair stylist to stretch to 5-6 months by protective styling and maintaining my scalp health to leave my hair ALONE. But if you’re on the fence and already have a health concern maybe consider bringing it up with your doctor or a health professional to make the best decision for you. Hope this helps and wishing you all the best ☺️☺️

My previous hairdresser did it went from a bob to bra strap in 2 yrs and I never saw her with her hair up or in a protective style. Not even a ponytail so if there is any one who can do that make a video in my honor please.

    • @IannaYvonne
      @IannaYvonne  9 месяцев назад

      Hello. Thank you for watching! You can definitely grow long hair without using protective styles. The same tips will apply. Of course, the more you manipulate your hair the more potential for breakage. So low manipulation buns or protective styles really help with retaining length. It’s a tool you can use to achieve your goal, but it’s not a MUST.
