    The move "Gravity" secretly increases accuracy by 5/3. The move "Grav Apple" increases in power by 1.5 when used in "Gravity". The move "growth" increases attack by 2 instead of 1 under harsh sunlight. Jumping moves like "High Jump Kick" and "splash" will not work under "Gravity". Non Ice type pokemon have lower accuracy with the move "Sheer Cold" than an ice type pokemon would. Sticky Web remembers who it's user is. If your own Sticky Web got Court Changed to your side, it cannot activate Competitive or Defiant due to being induced by a teammate

    On Gen II's light ball, you can use thief on red's Pikachu if I remember correctly, as his Pikachu carries one (I am more sure this works in the remakes). It was essentially made to make his Pikachu more threatening lmao. That's the real reason it exists.

    The everstone also has another hidden ability. If you give it to a Pokémon in the daycare all the offspring will have the same nature as the one holding the everstone.

    • @zigazav1
      @zigazav1 Год назад +11

      That's the Everstone's most well-known secondary effect, especially when how much Breeding was useful for competitive Pokemon (especially when the region has a Battle Facility that WILL cheat, you'll need all the power you can get to succeed at times.) in the more recent few generations of Pokemon. As one who would actively breed Pokemon to try to get the strongest of those species I could get, to the point you could call me a Pokemon Breeder, I am very well-informed on hidden breeding mechanics like that. But, unless you were told or read from somewhere of that secondary power of an Everstone, it's very unlikely one would figure it out on their own, as I doubt the games outright tell you about that secondary use of an Everstone. If I remember correctly (and I could be wrong, as it's been forever since I played through Alola Pokemon games) I THINK a single NPC informs you of the use of the Everstone for regional variants breeding in Sun and Moon, that was stated in the video of this comments section. But only that one NPC.

    For gen 1 that trick, it's not limited to safari zone. It's based on the last place you were before flying there, however you can "clear" the location by doing the catching tutorial before flying there

  • @reg1990
    @reg1990 Год назад +92

    That outside of battle effect of Cute Charm also allowed for some great RNG manipulation in the gen 4 games. If you have a specific combination of Trainer/Secret ID and a Pokemon with Cute Charm, Pokemon of a certain gender ratio will have a much, MUCH higher chance of being shiny. Of course, you'll never know your Secret ID without accessing your save file through external means, so I'm not sure it really fits in a video like this.

    • @MarvinPowell1
      @MarvinPowell1 Год назад +2

      I tried to do that before, but trying to get the right trainer and secret ID is so convoluted and so hard to pull off requiring a timer to get the perfect timing down to the second, it's not worth it. It takes like 50 to 100 attempts to get it right usually, and who's got time for that?

    3:50 To be fair to this one, this trick and the MissingNo glitch happen due the exact same oversight, and the exploit works with any location with grass encounters that you fly from. The main thing that enables the MissingNo glitch is that watching the catching tutorial puts the player name as the encounter data until you clear it (which entering a town or water-only route doesn't).

    The Normal and Gorgeous Box items are significantly more obscure than the Gen II Light Ball, especially considering they can only be obtained via Pokemon Stadium 2. There's also other unique transfer items like the Brick Piece and also the Gold and Silver Leaves.

    I actually discovered the Natural Objects mechanic by pure random chance. I was fooling around with a Gyarados I had caught after beating the game, and it had Twister as one of its moves. I used it during a wild battle, and got a Kebia berry. It was then that I found a new mission to complete in the post-game: Find at least one of every berry that weakens a super-effective attack from a certain type. I still have yet to find the berry for Water type attacks.

As long as you had Pokemon Yellow connected and the Starter Pikachu was in a PC in the cartridge game, you could just take the Light Ball from the Starter Pikachu and place it in the box. To clarify, the safari zone trick applies to any patch of grass you were last in. That strip of coast keeps the encounter table you last used.

    I know about Cute Charm’s added effect but I think most people today know about it, unsure if it was commonly known about back when Emerald came out, I think I found out about that during gen 6 so I was late to learn about it.
    For the stuff gens 6-8, yeah, I knew about it from when those generations were new too. I use to go around looking for the jagged rocks because I used my game given thunder stone to get Jolteon & I wanted to get Raichu for my dex. I remember doing a call with a friend & they found a thunder stone before I could but we touch traded their Raichu so I got it registered in the dex eventually.
    Actually, on & off breeding Alolan Meowth in Galar, I wanted it to be a particular nature so I did have to go through the trouble of synchronizing timid in Ultra Moon & hunting for an Alolan Meowth to catch & transfer up so I didn’t have to deal with taking someone else’s Meowth & put up with whatever nature I was given since you get the nature passed down from whoever is holding the everstone & Meowth needs to be the one holding it. I knew this little trick since gen 7 was new & kept it in mind in case I wanted to breed something with a regional variant like if I wanted a Kantonian Diglet in Alola or something but it didn’t really come up until gen 8 when I wanted to breed Alolan Pokémon.

    In many of the games, the daycare person has a tell when an egg is produced. Like, for instance, in Sword and Shield, the Daycare Worker will do a puzzled pose. And, in BDSP, the Daycare Worker will look off to the left of the screen instead of looking to the bottom.

    I actually knew about the Gen2 light ball, and I also knew that literally NOBODY wanted it, because it involved getting rid of the ONLY talking pikachu in the game it was meant to be in.
    Like, it would have been cool if it made pikachu follow you in Gold & SIlver, but it didn't. lol
    EDIT:
    Gen8's quirk isn't new. You could do that in x/y as well by tapping the screen.

    An NPC tells you about the background stuff in X and Y and I discovered it by accident by messing with moves before meeting the NPC. So it is arguably the least hidden one, but apparently most players ignore NPCs that aren’t plot important seeing as a lot of stuff is not known by the community at large.

    5:09 he should'ce mentioned using the PC save hack in order to clone your pokemon. In 2nd gen, If you place your pokemon in a pc, start to save, and turn it off before it completes the save, when you turn the game back on youll have the pokemon in the PC and in your party.

    Knew all of this except the Gen II Light Ball and the Gen VIII attack animations in the summary screen. However! The Light Ball is an extension of the feature that Gen I Pokémon brought to Gen II will come with a held item based on the specie's catch rate. And in Gen VIII, clicking the stick is just a way to implement a feature from Gen VI, where tapping the Pokémon on the summary screen will make it play an attack animation. This kinda was in Gen V, actually? It would just turn the Pokémon around.

    Yeah the first one is probably a glitch. You mention it doesnt require glitching like getting the missingno to appear there. But it still relys on the same "mechanic" and is most likely a glitch/bug itself.
    It isnt likely that the devs specifically programmed that area to act like that.

    There was actually a few pokemon from generation 1 games that retroactively was given items. You could use Pokemon Stadium 2 to take those items off those pokemon and then move them any gen 2 game. Mostly berries, but yes it worked with the Light Ball. I want to say Ditto also almost always had Light Powder, the Abra line with Twisted Spoons, Machop with Black Belts and the like, but it's been years so I could be misremembering that.
