I'd also say Infinity Frequencies' Computer Trilogy (Computer Death, Computer Decay, Computer Afterlife) and Between Two Worlds are also incredible examples of liminal music. While dubbed vaporwave, I feel that they bleed into both vaporwave and liminal music. if you haven't, definitely check them out!
RUclips has been trying to stuff audio/sound design youtubers down my throat ever since I searched for how to program a formant filter, but this is the first time I feel like it's a hit. It doesn't feel as... idk, advertizy? populistic? idfk ok I just know this vibe is it and that the topics covered are majorly overlapping with my own interests.
Thanks for the advice. I'm learning how to write liminality, and invoke those feelings through words rather than a visual or auditory medium. It's really hard, and no one experiences liminality the same. I for instance liken it to remembering memories that aren't yours, or that were something you looked over and thus lack the context to place why it's familiar. It's like meeting someone with a familiar face, and you're not quite sure, but you feel like you know them. And you feel sad because you just don't know why. Like meeting your parents from a past life.
In all those examples of liminal chord progressions i was really expecting liek a break beat to come in but obviously that wouldn't be part of this vibe. :p
You all are missing out if you don't listen to Puzzle. His music is like the embodiment of a liminal space is what it feels like very often
give the link i can't find him anywhere
This is really well made! Surprised you aren't more popular. Keep up the good work.
i've been trying to find how to compose liminal sounding music for my Backrooms game and this has helped a lot
holy shit i looked up the exact thing i wanted to watch

i think a lot of vaporwave can be used as liminal music
3:32 this sounds like something one would make in Online Sequencer

your feelings are irrational
It's basically just dark ambient music. Plenty of dark ambient is already out there with tutorials, but people just had to give it a different name.
Thank you so much, that is a very nice and helpful video, i've searched for this kind of a video for way too long, thanks again!
You're very welcome!
I’ve been looking for a video on the music of liminal spaces. Because I’ve always wanted to try and make a liminal song
In all those examples of liminal chord progressions i was really expecting liek a break beat to come in but obviously that wouldn't be part of this vibe. :p
this is a great video bro!
Thank you!
I feel like you're going to pop off soon, given the quality of your videos. Hats off!
your feelings are irrational
@@Fire_Axus why be mean
So its like warped japanese jazz/house via the playstation. 🧐
Or dark ambient.
Well conducted 😤😤
Honestly this is such a good video. Even if i stumbled upon this late you just helped me so much thank you so much. Earned a sub for sure!
I can't believe you forgot about Backrooms vol 1 by Kane Parsons

Keep it up man
BRO PLEASE GET A DE-ESSER PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU
Neat.
Bro I SWEAR EVERY MINECRAFT SONG THAT C418 MAKES AND IT BECOMES REVERB SOUNDS LIMINAL
Bro how are are they’re only 4 comments 😂
supernice and competent video, thank you. although i suspect most of these channels nowadays use AI for the music (which i don't judge)
What did you do with the tail to make it sound like that?
You need to use reverb plugins, like Valhalla Supermassive for example. It will create these long and unique tails for your sound.
thank you
i think SAW vol 2 by aphex twin is a better ambient album
Are you High boi? (the youtuber)
Oh, I wish...
