The stage names in this game have always cracked me up 🤣 "gesticulation" "protuberance" "rotary bypass", I feel like the developers just thesaurus'd the heck out of a bunch of words like "rotate" and "move", I love it
Touch & Roll is in a weird spot in the Monkey Ball lineup. I believe it's pretty overlooked considering it recreated a lot of the Monkey Ball 1 & 2 levels while having a good bunch of its own. The physics aren't that bad and the thing that's holding it back was the fact it was on the DS. It was challenging in its own right and I think it deserves some recognition like Banana Splitz did.

bOy Am I eArLy! Anyways, I think they should add Touch and Roll to Banana Mania as DLC, and maybe even Banana Splitz or JR. I definitely think they should add Deluxe Practice, Challenge, and Story Mode as free DLC or an update, I don't know why it wasn't it the base game.
for being a game I used to play years ago, this at that age was really hard! I am getting a 2ds soon so I can replay all the games from my childhood. This was one of them, very nostalgic.
That's Because It's The Original Version Of "Monkey Island" Used in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, The Game That Came After Super Monkey Ball: Touch And Roll!!! Banana Blitz Had A Lot Of Touch And Roll Remixe's, And For Sakura Edition, Pirates Ocean Is Literally Pirates Ocean, Except With Monkey Island Music LOL 😂!!!
For a while this was the only SMB game I had (got it in 2010, my mom decided it was a good idea to sell the old GameCube with SMB 1 and 2 in 2009, and the Xbox copy of Deluxe we got didn't work in our X360), and I actually loved playing it all the time. Even managed to unlock all the worlds within two years. So in a way I grew up on this game
How'd you get so proficient at controlling this? Monkey Ball without an analog stick (or gyro) is undesirable; I'm trying to replay this and I'm having a tough time. I use Aiai, if that means anything.
Play through Meteorite Mayhem and Big Bang Boom in Challenge Mode, and make sure to take the red goals. Once you've done that _and_ cleared all 10 worlds, a banana counter will appear. This will also unlock the first secret world: Studio One. Until you clear it, the banana counter will not add up. After that, you must collect 2,006 total bananas in _Challenge_ Mode. Bananas collected in Practice Mode will not affect the counter. Every banana you collect is automatically saved, even when you reset. I suggest playing through Wet & Windy a bunch of times. Play through it while collecting every banana you can, and reset when the credits roll (There is no way to skip them). Keep repeating this, and you'll have 2,006 bananas in no time!
I always used the d-pad when I was little. For some reason it never occurred to me that you could use the touch screen even though it's literally in the name.
Check out a stunt I did in one of the levels for this game!

Oh god I remember doing the same stunt for that level! The nostalgia is real

That's normal for Super Monkey Ball.
There's something about using 2d sprites in a 3d environment that just makes me love this game so much
This game is criminally underrated

Everyone just thought that it was touch screen only although it could do with a movement hack like SM64 DS
OMG nostalgia, I forgot how many times I played this game on my ds when I was little. Im a huge monkey ball fan

I love just how much the last world (mesh mosh) is literally a mish mash of smb 1 and 2 levels just slightly altered
One of the first non-Mario games I ever played.
What I hated the most is going through the credits everytime you complete a world.
Turn off and then on your DS, or reset emulation on emulator. Shaves off MINUTES.
@@shirohimayumikira234 wouldn't you lose progress by doing that?

One thing I just recently noticed is that the touch screen's giraffe-print background moves when you move.

just changed the thumbnail ;P
I love the atmosphere of extra 1 I played first time when I was around 10 yrs old at spa in the town next to my home.
The stage is lmpressive for me.

Wet ‘N’ Windy: Monkey Island
Junglistic Journey: Firefly Forest

Meteorite Mayhem: Sinking Swamp
Big Bang Boom: Space Case

Funny how this and the old iPhone Monkey Ball game are practically the same
In Big Bang Boom, the characters had sprites in 3D.
