I have a blind family member and they don't watch TV/movies but they hear it, like imagine people from like many decades ago, they had radios not televisions so when they would watch the game they would hear the broadcaster explain what happens, they get context clues from background music and the surrounding sounds of the show, now sure they can have trouble watching things with subtitles but then at that point they just won't watch
