Sorry pastor Dough Batchelor thankyou for for being there when I was sick and all that verse I needed help and you were there your sermons and Amazing facts helped me lot even in my rebellion thankyou and I am sorry
Well, this 'story' did come immediately after 6 consecutive parables. AND Jesus was speaking to a crowd. So.. It might make sense to consider it to be a parable as well. "All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable."(Matthew 13:34) And it contains the same theme as the parable just before it - unfaithful stewardship.
A meatier explanation of Lazarus (the LORD is my helper) and the Rich Man (Dives) can be gleaned from this Kingdom Parable: ruclips.net/video/vb_47-drJko/видео.html "But He (Jesus) answered and said, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel (not the Southern Kingdom of Judah, but lost dispersed Northern Kingdom of Israel (Hosea 1:9-10)). And she said, 'Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.'" Matt 15:24-27
This guy is beginning to make sense to me, Ive gone back to read the scriputires he's referred to, Im now reading it differently, didnt see that coming, some things are making more sense to me now...the all consuming fire, doesnt say the person burns forever thay are 'consumed' , we havent been reading correctly and taking for granted what we hear and not searching for ourselves
Praise the Lord. The Bible refers to it as the second death. So not burning alive forever. The punishment is forever, not the punishing. Several texts say the wicked burn as stubble or ashes. Read Malachi 4:1,3 this makes it very clear. Also read Revelation 20: 1-15, this tells everything that happens in order heaven and hell. Just think when Jesus brings heaven to Earth, and the wicked are burning on earth forever, what kind of Heaven would it be to see loved ones burning? They are burned according to the works shall be. Some shorter than others. Burned to ashes.
@@dianechapmanbettyboop Revelation says Satan, the false prophet and all unsaved people will be cast alive into the lake of fire which is the second death. No rest day or night . Their worm dieth not . The smoke of their TORMENT ascends forever AND ever . ( You have to be conscious to feel torment). In Heaven God said there will be no more tears. So somehow He works it out that you don't know your love ones didn't make it .
@@janetdavidson8798 the term forever and ever means until the person is dead. People are punished according to the sins they have committed, a thief will not burn as long as a murderer, Hitler will burn a long time, Satan will burn the longest. During the thousand years that the Saints are in Heaven, they will be judging those that didn’t make it, to see why they were lost. 1 Corinthians 6: 2, they will see that God was fair with His decision that their friends and loved ones were lost. The worm doesn’t die, because it is still eating of the remains. Don’t forget Revelation is figurative not literal in most things, full of symbols to be interpreted. But eventually everyone of the wicked die. Unfortunately, most people don’t know the identity of the Beast and the false prophet, they make silly guesses, the same with the Beast/Little Horn/Mother of Harlots/Antichrist, the same with the Mark of the Beast, because they don’t know what the Mark is, most people, including very many Christians will accept, many out of ignorance, because they believe in a false rapture, and when they find out they’re still here, they will be unprepared, and will accept the Mark. Here is a text to demonstrate that people don’t burn forever. For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven: and all the proud, yea, all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh SHALL BURN THEM UP, saith the Lord of Hosts, that shall leave them neither root nor branch. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of Hosts. Malachi 4: 1, 3. The Bible speaks of the fire at Sodom and Gomorrah as everlasting fire, the fire at Sodom and Gomorrah is NOT still burning. Matthew 25: 41. It burned until the job was done. Jude 1: 7 talks of Sodom and Gomorrah suffered eternal fire. Like I said it is not still burning. The effects are everlasting and eternal, but the punishment doesn’t go on forever. No one is burning in hell now as many believe, at the second resurrection of the wicked. Heaven has come down to Earth. Satan tells the wicked, there are more of us than them, we can take them, then attempt to attack the righteous, then fire comes down from Heaven and destroys them. Revelation 20: 7: 10, Revelation 20: 12-15 The second death means they didn’t burn forever. So many have been deceived on this issue. The wicked are not burning forever now, hell will be on the Earth(Revelation 20: 9) they were devoured or wiped out. Just like no one is in Heaven now, except for Enoch, Elijah who God translated, they represent those at the second coming will be translated to Heaven without seeing death. Moses Jude 1: 9 Jesus and Satan argued about who was going to get Moses and the dead that were resurrected when Jesus was resurrected Matthew 27:52, 53. They went to Heaven after being resurrected. They represent those at the end of time, that died, and Jesus will resurrect them at the Second Coming of Jesus. No one else is in Heaven, another false deception.
41The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
+ 47 And if your eye makes you lose your faith, take it out! It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with only one eye than to keep both eyes and be thrown into hell. 48 There ‘the worms that eat them never die, and the fire that burns them is never put out.’

The two sisters of Lazarus ("Martha" and "Mary") probably symbolize the two spirits that Lazerous received through fasting for two 7 day periods to cleanse him of his leprosy. Jacob fasted for two 7 day periods (worked for two 7 year periods) to receive his two wives. Females usually represent spirits.
Parable Matthew 13:34 KJV [34] All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: Even the evil kings sleep in their grave until the resurrection 1 Kings 16:25,28 KJV [25] But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all that were before him. [28] So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead. John 11:11,14 KJV [11] These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. [14] Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. John 5:28-29 KJV [28] Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, [29] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 KJV [5] For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. [6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
Interestingly I watched a newspring church sermon on hell and and he even read a few annihilationist scriptures out (Isiah 66:24 DEAD BODIES with worms and fire, and destruction, not living people with fire burning them and worms wriggling through them for ever), he still gravitated towards the eternal torment view. Okay the message is clear, either way avoid Hell - but somehow temporary torment followed by eternal oblivion. I also get Revelation 20 is a particularly tricky chapter when it has 'devoured', 'tormented day and night for ever and ever' and 'second death' all in the same chapter. Without studying the Greek, it seems we have a perpetually burning devil, city of Babylon, and those who worshipped the beast and the false prophet, but everyone else is incinerated.
Totally Correct, what he's teaching. If you happen to have ears and you're not deaf, then listen to him and look up the verses in your own Bible. But of course, you can also listen and follow "false" teaching, to suit your "flesh".
Jimmy Cudo In the resurrection people are raised on the last day to the fate that awaits them. The story suggests that these men had already met their fate.

The riduculous idea of the secret rapture is fairly new came about in the 19th century and yet so called main stream churches accept it based off 1 verse you should really have a concept of what adventists believe instead of comparing them to mormons and jehovah witnesses the church in america as whole is a complete mess with christians flocking to the likes of joel olsteen
He is correct: the wicked will NOT "survive" the wrath of GOD and "live" to tell about it! There is NO eternal "life/existence" in the lake of fire. Eternal life/existence is reserved for the saved, NOT for the damned!
Death is separation from God. So there are physically living people but until they are born again, they are dead, as in they are not unified to The Creator. Eternally, we can life eternal life or eternal death or eternal separation from the Creator, cast into the outer darkness. Concerning this story in Luie 16, it reads as people who were alive in this world, 'there was a rich man'....'there was a man named Lazarus'.
I think this is more than a parable. But actual people who experienced consciousness after passing from this life. 'There was a rich man....' is key to the opening of this narrative. Secondly, if it is a parable, Jesus wouldn't tell a parable or story that was contradictory to sound theology.
Have you watched the video 'Tamara Laroux Shot Herself and went to Hell?'. Strangely enough it seems she used 'The Rich Man and Lazarus' with a few extra descriptions thrown in. If this is true, better read up on Greek Mythology!!
Parables are meant to shed light on something. Like for instance, if you were talking about Usain Bolt the greatest sprinter of all-time, you might say, "There is a man from Jamaica, who is an absolute cheetah." This would be a metaphoric parable. People would understand that just like a cheetah is the fastest land animal, so Usain Bolt is the fastest sprinter. But it would make no sense, even metaphorically to call Usain bolt a snail or a sloth. It would not make sense literally or metaphorically. It makes no sense whatsoever to tell a parable about annihilation by describing someone dying and then instantly going into conscious torment in flames. What is the metaphorical meaning of a person being conscious enough to carry on a rational conversation while describing how he is "...in torment in these flames." Does this really sound like annihilation or torment? Revelation 20:10 says, "And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be TORMENTED day and night FOREVER and ever. . .Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if ANYONE"S name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." By the way, the word torment is translated from the Greek word Basanismos, and it means to torture. It absolutely does NOT mean to annihilate and put out of existence. Revelation 14:9-11 says, "“If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand...He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have NO REST DAY OR NIGHT, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” If an unrepentant sinner is annihilated in hell, (put out of existence) the phrase "NO REST DAY OR NIGHT" makes no sense.
The story of the rich man and Lazarus is a true story or Jesus would have brought false witness against Abraham and Lazarus. Since neither one of them said anything Jesus said they did supposedly. God doesn’t put words in a person’s mouth if Jesus said Abraham said something then Abraham said it.
" For by GRACE you have been saved and that NOT OF YOURSELVES , it is the GIFT OF GOD, NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS, lest any one should boast " Ephesians Ch 2 v 8 - 9 .The perfect salvation which is the free gift of God for all who simply believe upon Christ and receive what He achieved for sinners and any subsequent obedient discipleship as believers should not be confused. The perfect work of the perfect saviour saved us whereas our own works don't contribute to salvation. We are to trust in Christ alone for salvation and not trust in our own imperfect selves. Christ did it all !
This story spoken by Jesus in Luke 16 is very simple. 2 men, a rich man (who loved money) and a poor man (who loved Christ) and what happens to a believer and an unbeliever. Both men upon death go to PARADISE. Understand the word "heaven" in the bible means Atmosphere, not a place you go when you die. Paradise is where everyone goes when you die. 2 cor ch 15 states - to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord, as well as eccl 12 v 6&7. There are 2 sides to paradise, and between those 2 sides is a GULF which cannot be passed. The believers go to the side God is on ( hence lazarus is hugging Abraham) and the unbeliever goes to the other side. If You could see when you got to paradise that you were on the wrong side of paradise you would be in TORMENT. Its even stated when the rich man asks for lazarus to bring him "water" (KNOWLEDGE or TRUTH) he cant because of the gulf (in greek = a laseration - a medical word) so he begs to send a soul back to save his brothers, but since we are born once and die once this isn't allowed. No such things as ghosts is my point there. Very easy to understand if we rightly divide the word of God. People need to understand the Bible was translated from Hebrew Aramaic and Greek so a concordance and a KJV bible is criticle to grasp the true meanings, as well as idioms and figures of speech as well as social ways of life in those periods of time being studied. You should always be able to document.
+Michael Suchey It's actually about the Jews vs the Gentiles. Basically, Jesus was pronouncing judgment on Israel for her wickedness and unfaithfulness.
I think Lazarus and the rich man were the same person... The rich man represents "the flesh", and the poor man (Lazarus) represents "the spirit." It's a story about a man who became poor I'm spirit and offered up himslef as a living sacrifice to God, Then God resurrected him from the dead. Leaving his carnal nature in hell..it's the same story of Jesus on the cross. "The two thieves" likely represent Lazarus and the rich man...🤔 In order to be saved, we must do the same that Lazarus CHOSE to do..."TAKE UP YOIR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME" -Jesus
This is a 'truth' in plain words and NOT a parable. Yeshua uses the actual names for REASONS, unlike the 'parables', and it is because of what he saw. This truth is for those that feel they can contact the dead also, since misdirection is alive in the world, and the barriers put in place by YHWH disallowing all such movement. It is also Yeshua reinforcing 'Before Abraham, I AM' , and the truth is explaining many things to the believer in this scripture, and Yeshua is telling you in plain terms what he actually 'saw' in the spiritual realm, and in fact sees to this day. Were the writers of the scriptures you see in the 'bible' today not the ones Yeshua also spoke direct truths to also? Yes, many know other scripture was excluded, but even so what you see is sufficient for those not led any further. Yeshua said and did MANY things, and general commentary tells you there would probably be a shortage of books to include all. Do you think he never spoke to the disciples in parables too at times? Instead of hanging on just your own thinking, accept that the Holy Spirit teaches many things unseen to many, and few get it. If Abraham were just metaphorical, then Yeshua could have said Peter Pan. The Holy Spirit interprets in simplicity for the believer what is 'truth' . Pharisees had very long winded critiques and self thought logics built on technicalities , and no need to say where that got them.
Diane Chapman nope; I don’t believe a word of it! How do you explain that in Russian Synodal Bible, we have word to word translation, that absolutely the same word to word in KJV?? Give me explanation about it???? Make your own research about period, and time, and translators, of translation both of this Bible’s, and you’ll see: «who is apostate preacher»?? You see, you can not make your statement and doctrines against only on one KJV Bible; study German Bible’s, Spanish Bible, Russian Bible... the very first oldest translation of the great nation around the world!! Do you think that Holly Spirit gives mistranslated Bible’s all over the world for those generations that already pass away?????? And they believe in Diety of Jesus Christ as a false doctrine?????? Trinity of God as a false doctrine???? Hell as a false doctrine???? So many of the doctrines we believe in our day’s????? Is a false doctrines???? Really?? Don’t you think that God Almighty for these thousand years don’t stop that as an apostasy????? Answer my question!

@@Mike-qt7jp You are 100% correct. EXCELLENT comment. 👍🏻
The story of the rich man and Lazarus is a true story or Jesus would have brought false witness against Abraham and Lazarus. Since neither one of them said anything Jesus said they did supposedly. God doesn’t put words in a person’s mouth if Jesus said Abraham said something then Abraham said it.
...and even if the passage was a parable, the question we can ask, would Jesus say a parable that was theological inconsistent with reality.
Sorry pastor dough bachelor please forgive me you are correct that it's a Parable not truth thanks
Sell all you have. Give it to the poor. Deny yourself. Then lose your life for Christ or else. Heaven isn't a place it's just the future.
Sorry but this isn't a parable, Jesus said THERE WAS a certain rich man.
Bingo. The key to interpreting scripture. What does it say. 🤔
Michael Suchey Good UNbIblical definition n theory though
+Michael Suchey :: I like your soap bubble story, try again.
Dough batch is right and everyone else is wrong
I read KJV Bible; and i DONT believe a word of this “preacher”. He don’t know what he talking about.
He is speaking the truth, you are listening with a biased mind
This teacher ignores all the content about what happened to the Jews when they were slaughtered and thrown into the valley of gahenna in 70ad.
