I hardly comment anywhere but seeing how far this game has come since I started playing it at 8 years old is just so insane. I'm 19 now, and I don't ever think 8 year old me expected anything like this to happen to the game he loves so much. I love Wolf Quest and I love Wolves!

17 years...wow. I remember playing the original on a potato computer in the TV room of my parents' house with all the graphics turned as low as possible. I remember reading about the game development before then, even. I'm about to turn 31 and the nostalgia hits hard. This is one of the few games I'll boot up and play when I need a couple of chill hours after a busy week, just to run around as a wolf where my biggest worry is getting enough food for me and my pups (and not bills and deadlines and other human adult responsibilities). Every time there's a new update it's like hearing from an old friend.
Same here I just turned 29 lol the nostalgia is right. We really deserve this and WolfQuest deserves way more attention. Best animal simulation game by far. I guess it’ll get more attention once the Saga drops and life continues. People will see then!
I genuinely eeped when I got the notification. I love the amount of freedom you have in this game. It’s not one story line you have to play over and over again, there’s so many options and possibilities!

Hearing "17 years" really knocked the wind out of me for a sec!! 😂 I've been around since the very first release and I will NEVER forget the feeling of zooming over Amethyst Mountain to my wolf for the first time. 🥺💜 I'm so excited for all to come. Every single addition has been a dream come true!
I remember playing WolfQuest Legacy when I was around 12yo on our family computer and hoping that some day I'd see a version of the game where you can play through a realistic lifecycle of a wolf raising your pups and growing your own pack. Now it's really happening. The game I thought would only stay as a silly dream is becoming reality right when I'm about to turn 29yo and I don't regret waiting for all this years.

Im playing as a confirmed generation for the saga when it comes out(with Lunari and her mate, Solstice, who are the pack leaders of the Moonstone pack!) and they aren't even close to 15 pounds yet 😅 I better pick up the pace haha!

But Lunari is going to keep on having litters until she dies. Currently Lunari had 6 pups, 3 girls named Dawn, Luna, and Io. And 3 boys named Lunar, Sol, and Eden! Eden got sick though :,) Peril had 2 pups I think, they were both males. I don't remember what I named them tho lol

He currently raise his first litter in HM (which is funny when you mention how Moonstone’s family pack died in his bio which I imagined lol). But I like the slight differences and similarities between Moonstone and Yurei. Like Moonstone hates water, which caused him to live almost all his life in AM because he preferred walking up the mountains than swimming through rivers in SC, when Yurei loves water and also his date with his first trial mate (which after all he didn’t choose) was to swim downstream Yellowstone river (Canyon Cruise achievement). The similarity between them is: both of them terrorised other wolves packs. Moonstone killed Wapiti Lake pack female leader, then her daughter takes the pack, and he killed her and her mate next year. Then he killed female and male leaders of pack which comes after Wapiti’s and then he did it again when the pack with the same name (it wasn’t the same pack). He also disbands one of the SC packs (it was surely Crevice Lake), when Yurei form other hand killed leaders from Cottonwood Creek pack because first the female leader comes with one subordinate and attack his four pups, and then her mate comes, also with subordinate. In this way Yurei disbands Cottonwood pack and takes few hexes from their territory.

Her den site is also at McBride lake, I thought it was fitting lol Lunari was also the only one who ended up surviving in her litter. She had 3 siblings, which were all males, and out of all of her siblings she was the biggest and the strongest! Eventually she set out on her own in Slough Creek when her siblings died. Both of her parents also died too, but it was from old age, but she was 2 years old when that happened. So she decided to venture away from Lost River and make a new pack in Slough Creek where her pack would be known as "Moonstone"! Also, her previous pack's name was HalfMoon(which is ironic considering her mother's name is Halfmoon!)

17 years..... Holy smokes, it's hard to imagine that WQ has been around for that long. And for a little more than half my life too! I still remember, to the last detail, the day I found the game back in 2008. I was in elementary school back then and had an old potato computer that could barely run the game, but I played the hell out of it. I know this may be thrown around a lot lately, but I am so insanely happy and proud of how far this game has come. ❤

A small and short part of it plays when you get close to the cattle ranch (when the request pops up, if you want to go there or not), but only 3 seconds or so. While the extended/full version plays when you meet a stranger wolf, and not the one you can start the courtship with (Slough, Druid, Specimen or Dispersal of your wolf's same sex)

its so crazy how ive grown up with this game, i started playing it on my ipad mini at 7 years old, played it everyday and as soon as wolf quest 3 came out i begged my dad to buy it. 7 year old me would never have thought how far my favourite game has come
You guys are amazing. Every time I watch the latest devblog I get excited for it all over again. Cause you don't have to add so much, it's a lot of work and it's hard to figure a lot of this stuff out, especially with all the variations on how things can happen. But you do. YOU DO. You do it! When most other companies would say it's too much and just leave it bare bones and unsatisfying, YOU GUYS DO IT. And it leaves me amazed and in awe of you guys every time. You probably know you're loved by your fans, since there are so many comments saying such, but seriously, that's cause you guys put in the work, this is so clearly a labor of love and we SO appreciate you guys for making it this good. It'll feel so complete by the time you guys are actually finished making it. Thank you so so much for giving us the most accurate (and yet still fun cause of all the options you've added!) wolf game we could've ever asked for. Literally a dream come true for so many people. i really like the idea of the time continuing to pass even after pups and mates die! i always find the way i play tends to make the game pretty fast, and i've never really experienced my mate or my own death, and thus, i never really experience more than one year progression. being able to keep going even after you become a lone wolf sounds exciting to me, as morbid as that may sound lol might help me discover aspects of the game i usually don't in a normal playthrough! :D

I'm still so surprised and so happy that the developers decided to keep at the game, even after the partnership they originally had ended. 17 years, I remember rushing home and getting on my dads computer to play on low graphics, and have fun, now this hits hard , I have both still up and running wolf quest games and it makes me so sad watching the nostalgia roll back

It’s crazy, I’m 13 and I’ve been playing this since I was 5, I started with the original game from 2007 and played until I was 9 or 10. Then exploded one day realizing that this game had already been out for a year and immediatly switched over to it. It’s one of my all time favorites and recently my computer broke so I haven’t been able to play, but hopefully we can fix it!
This is my first comment here and I have a question or I guess suggestion (I hope it’s okay!!!) But since we will be able to grow the pups to the next year, will you be adding baby bison? When WolfQuest actually listens to their community, compared to 99% of the gaming companies in this world who don't. That's why I love these devs and game, always have and will, even when WolfQuest's development ends for good.
I would love for your wolf to stay the same age but all the other wolves age. I just love the idea of watching your pack evolve over the years. The pack getting bigger or smaller over time but you stay the same age
Hi Wolfquest! I have an idea for the Saga, if you would consider it. So, as you know, when you get a major or minor injury, you get speed/strength/stamina stats taken away. Maybe instead of it lasting for a few days and disappearing all at once, it was taken away slowly over time. For example, if it started at -7 stats, it would go to -6, -5, then -4, all the way until it got back to zero. It’s just an idea, but I would be glad if you added it! By the way, I’m so excited for the Saga! You clearly put a lot of effort into your games, and I am very grateful for it. Thank you for all your hard work!
Hi there! I love the progress going on with the saga, I can't wait for it to be released! The 'growing pups' quest pups looks.. kind of odd, they dont look like pups and look rather uncanny but I'm sure it's fine. I have been wondering if you are going to have those huge bison herds added in? With all the calves and female bison, out in the open or in the open forests? I think that would be such a cool feature, if it isn't already added in.
They want to add bison herds that include females and calves, but having those huge herds is very lag inducing so they need to find a way to implement it without it being super laggy before it can be added. Maybe someday. And I do agree the pups look a little odd… I wish the stage where the pups just become smaller adults was more of a blend between the pup and adult model. I don’t think a totally new model is necessary but it could use some improvements. But I think the coats are the biggest issue, more so than the model in some cases. A lot of the coats, like Big Blaze, Aiden, ‘06, and Luna don’t even look like wolves IMO. Compared to coats like Grizzer, Buffy, Frosty, and even some of the original 2.7 coats imo, there is a stark difference in realism. I hope they improve those coats in the future, because I think having more real looking coats would help the pups look a lot more wolf-like and immersive.
@@elysium_music yes agreed, I also thought the coats don't look similair to real life wolves. and almost every gray/light colored coat has that white or black strip by their shoulders and some other distinct markings that show they're a wolf, if yk what I mean. I understand it would be lag inducing with the bison herds too. yeah, a blend would be nice

It’s so sad just 4 years ago we only had amethyst Mountain and lost river then 2 years or 3 years ago we got slough creek one year ago lost river dlc and hell roaring mountain a few months ago now we’re on the final part of the game it’s done so far

You probably know you're loved by your fans, since there are so many comments saying such, but seriously, that's cause you guys put in the work, this is so clearly a labor of love and we SO appreciate you guys for making it this good. It'll feel so complete by the time you guys are actually finished making it. i really like the idea of the time continuing to pass even after pups and mates die! i always find the way i play tends to make the game pretty fast, and i've never really experienced my mate or my own death, and thus, i never really experience more than one year progression. being able to keep going even after you become a lone wolf sounds exciting to me, as morbid as that may sound lol might help me discover aspects of the game i usually don't in a normal playthrough! :D
Wow. I can’t believe when I was a kid I used to play the old wolf quest game. And now seeing the saga brings me to tears. I love this so much! I can’t wait to play it.
Imagine it releases on Thanksgiving, and we can all be like, "We're grateful that Wolf Quest is finally complete"
Moving as a pack during the winter and not having to worry about those dang on bears taking over carcasses will be such a relief 😅

I am SO excited for this and for Saga finally being released!! I'm still so surprised and so happy that the developers decided to keep at the game, even after the partnership they originally had ended. I was so sure the game would die after that, but it hasn't at all. You are hands down one of the best developing teams I've ever had the honor of following. 17 years, I remember rushing home and getting on my dads computer to play on low graphics, and have fun, now this hits hard , I have both still up and running wolf quest games and it makes me so sad watching the nostalgia roll back

It’s crazy, I’m 13 and I’ve been playing this since I was 5, I started with the original game from 2007 and played until I was 9 or 10. Then exploded one day realizing that this game had already been out for a year and immediatly switched over to it. It’s one of my all time favorites and recently my computer broke so I haven’t been able to play, but hopefully we can fix it!

I would love for your wolf to stay the same age but all the other wolves age. I just love the idea of watching your pack evolve over the years. The pack getting bigger or smaller over time but you stay the same age

Hi Wolfquest! I have an idea for the Saga, if you would consider it.
So, as you know, when you get a major or minor injury, you get speed/strength/stamina stats taken away. Maybe instead of it lasting for a few days and disappearing all at once, it was taken away slowly over time. For example, if it started at -7 stats, it would go to -6, -5, then -4, all the way until it got back to zero. It’s just an idea, but I would be glad if you added it!
By the way, I’m so excited for the Saga! You clearly put a lot of effort into your games, and I am very grateful for it. Thank you for all your hard work!
Hi there! I love the progress going on with the saga, I can't wait for it to be released! The 'growing pups' quest pups looks.. kind of odd, they dont look like pups and look rather uncanny but I'm sure it's fine. I have been wondering if you are going to have those huge bison herds added in? With all the calves and female bison, out in the open or in the open forests? I think that would be such a cool feature, if it isn't already added in.
They want to add bison herds that include females and calves, but having those huge herds is very lag inducing so they need to find a way to implement it without it being super laggy before it can be added. Maybe someday.
And I do agree the pups look a little odd… I wish the stage where the pups just become smaller adults was more of a blend between the pup and adult model. I don’t think a totally new model is necessary but it could use some improvements. But I think the coats are the biggest issue, more so than the model in some cases. A lot of the coats, like Big Blaze, Aiden, ‘06, and Luna don’t even look like wolves IMO. Compared to coats like Grizzer, Buffy, Frosty, and even some of the original 2.7 coats imo, there is a stark difference in realism. I hope they improve those coats in the future, because I think having more real looking coats would help the pups look a lot more wolf-like and immersive.
i think they look fine in my opinion. i like the goofy look cuz it's like they hit puberty
@@elysium_music yes agreed, I also thought the coats don't look similair to real life wolves. and almost every gray/light colored coat has that white or black strip by their shoulders and some other distinct markings that show they're a wolf, if yk what I mean.
I understand it would be lag inducing with the bison herds too.

I can't wait for the saga! this is becoming exactly how I always dreamed the game would be- live as a wolf, however you want!! its so amazing that time and life will continue for your wolf no matter what happens to the other pack members, AND you can join rival packs!? thats something I thought would never actually be added. story building and role playing will be SO FUN
