Was really fun watching Toast play in a ChilledChaos lobby, love that guys content since most of the other YTers I watched dropped social deduction games pretty heavily. He does a bunch of ToS, Modded AmongUs and Project Winter as well as other party games.

0:00 Coming from Chilled's video that makes so much sense why he wasn't talking as much. My man was half asleep.
A few notes:
- While ritualist and doomsayer make giving out roles dangerous, everyone should at least give an alignment (limiting what evils can claim later on)
- Keeping an eye on what slots have been filled can be helpful in ratting out evils, since there often is no room
- Always check what happens at night. You actually missed the message which said the mayor was visited by another trapper
- Any town investigative should provide their info at the start of each day (they cannot die to rit or doom)
Another is in the notes (if evil) or will (if town) you want to type out every number and write their claims next to their number and an extra mark for confirmed roles (they protected, vet kill and reveals as an example). Makes it so much easier to keep track of the claims and what to push during the day.
and 1 more thing, you should learn all the roles and maybe watch a video on it, even watching someone else play and taking a few notes is a good idea
Regarding Town Investigatives, I say Spy and Coroner might not post first 1-2 days and it's fine

@@remenyip950731 the way trapper works, it takes a day to set the trap up at home, and as soon as you can place it, it triggers as soon as theres another visit. So when skadj went on me, toast had the trap primed and ready to activate~

I recommend once you get used to the game trying all any for a chance for neutral apo roles which are usually game threats
I am making some notes for Toast!:
1. You Should claim if you are Town investigative on the first couple of days so that way people can have info!
2. Likewise it is encouraged to claim what you are, usually town does this thing called VFA in which they go down the list to get the ALIGNMENT (like investigative, protective, power, etc) of the person. This is useful so that you can catch evils of guard and force them to commit to a claim!
3. Pirate is like rock paper scissors incarnate, and each DAY chooses a person to duel. That person cannot do what his role says (unless otherwise specified) and must pick one of three options to defend. If you guess the one they picked you win the duel and basically kill them. Win twice and you win the game and you "leave" the town.
4. You can check previous chat logs with pressing the double sided arrow located on the top right of the chat box.
5. it is useful to write stuff down IN YOUR WILL (NOT NOTEPAD!!!) with who you visited etc on most characters, that way town can reference that if you die!

Terms for roles in TOS2
TI= Town investigative roles which can check others for info. Immune to Ritualist/Doomsayer
Tk= Town killing roles which can kill other roles but killing a town member may have consequences
Ts= Town support roles which have special powers like roleblocking, proposal and remembering other roles
Tp= Town protective roles can protect other people from evils and sometimes town
TPow= Town power roles are the strongest roles and each have special powers that, if use correctly can win the game but, used poorly and everything can go wrong
NA= Netural Apocalypse are on their own team and their goal is to kill everyone not on their team (ignores roles like jester and exe). After they complete a certain objective, they transform into roles that can only be eliminated by being voted out

NK: Neutral killing roles are roles that only work with themselves and their goal is to kill the whole town
NE: Neutral evil roles are meant to cause chaos and have a certain objective to complete and after that, they leave town most of the time
CPow: Coven Power Roles that work for the coven and have strong powers that can easily win the game and normally gets the necronomicon early
CK: Coven Killing Roles that work for the coven and have the ability to kill and gain more killing abilities when given the necronomicon
CD: Coven Deception Roles that work for the coven and main job is to deceive and manipulate the town
CU: Coven Utility Roles that work for the coven and are very similar to TS roles and are meant to support the Coven

With a premade lobby it’s good but the playerbase are all currently 1k hour players of the first game and powergame it heavily. There’s very little social deduction it’s a flowchart they follow
@@Saniteee the flowchart type thing makes the game easier to play but honestly it ruined gameplay for me with the first ToS, especially because i was more of a casual player (but i also played often during school lol) and i felt like sometimes/a lot of the time you'd get ignored because people wanted to win a certain way.
@@interstellarloli5226 can you explain what the flowchart thing is? i used to be a half-serious player 6 years ago but i dropped tos after getting busy and having it blocked on the school firewall and when i came back everything changed. what the hell happened?
Welcome to the ToS fold, trapper is a good passive protection role but if you get roleblocked during the trap making then you have to spend another night trying to make the trap again. Keep that in mind if someone claims trapping someone after being roleblocked night 1.
Toast and chilled in the same lobby is a recipe for some serious big head gaming shenanigans!!! Been wai5ing for this forever 😁
Quick Explenation:
So the way the lovers work is, IF you love a villager, you get stat increases, can "care" for them twice a game to give them Powerful Defense (can only die by Tier3, "unstoppable" attacks, which are very rare) that night + clear effects like insanity (from dreamweaver), poison, douses etc. and get lifelinked (if 1 dies, both die). HOWEVER, if a neutral or coven accepts the proposal, you enter a Toxic Relationship . How that works is, you DON'T get a statboost, the admirerer gets silenced for 1 night and you DO NOT get lifelinked. The Admirerer is supposed to tell about the relationship after one day and call out the bad guy.
Reading this as a tos player gave me cancer
Don’t forget they can also reject it and that the admirer only gets 2 proposals all game and can’t propose to the same person twice

Y'know it's always great to see Among Us-style stuff from Toast, really reminds us of how happy these vids made us during the pandemic, and also lets us see how far he's gone (also that was 3 years ago? Time ain't real)
town of salem predates among us by 4 years and mafia predates town of salem by 28 years but ye
among us was just an odd little mafia spinoff that wound up blowing up due to yt/twitch, then later was modded to steal designs from and make it more like town of salem which is the extremely (comparatively) complicated form of mafia that has all the distinct roles with their own effects + more emphasis on >2 teams
I almost started crying. I have lived tos for so long. Seeing people actually giving tos2 a chance makes my heart so happy. I hope this breathes life into the game and opens it up to people who want to play instead of the usual trolls.

As someone who knows how to play tos (even though I don't actually play myself) I hate seeing him not know how to use the chat properly to check the history is hilarious... until he found the chat log. Plus seeing a full town in a discord chat XD never thought of that
So cool to see toast finally play some Town of Salem! It kind of got me into social deception games and was one of the pioneers in the genre. Definitely hope he'll play some more and that he can contribute more when he gets better.
I somehow missed the early days Among Us when everyone is trying hard to win and really competitive...now it is all just a proximity chatting around even in goose goose duck they don't even do task or study their roles now....but I still love watching otv&f group their interaction is still fun, just want to see some sweaty serious lobby every now and then.

I'm so glad you're bringing more attention to this game, it is genuinely one of my favourite games of all time, I've only ever played 4 steam games for more than 100 hours, and Town Of Salem is 2 of them

id recommend watching pipetron if you want to learn more about TOS2 and the meta. there’s a lot of intricate parts that newbies usually don’t pick up on and he’s really informative + entertaining

If your curious about this game Pipetron has been playing TOS1 for like 8 years and tos2 before it even came out and a video that explains what roles do (though its slightly outdates for something like trickster or coroner that have been changed 3 times)
I LOVE ToS. I haven't played it in forever, but I was obsessed with it back when RPGMinx and Ohm and friends played it. I just can't remember there names. They had twitch chat playing in the lobby. It was so much fun, but to this day I'm still salty about one game that was enshrined into a video where lovely Minx was being dumb and couldn't wrap her head around there being an Investigator AND a Sheriff even tho SHE MADE THE LIST.... so I died for nothing and I still get heated when I watch the video

Town of Salem did pioneer the modernization of this genre and it all started with StarCraft 2 mods. Both og Town of Salem, back then a SC2 arcade map called SC2 Mafia and another one called The Thing were two projects I was involved in that eventually culminated on this game and Among Us
Watching toast won the first game, then unlucky with having his teammates all died / dc’d early for the rest of the stream until that awesome last game was hilarious.
Watching you stressed (gives me pain), but watching you cook on a new game (with the cogs turning and levers being pulled) brings me joy in the same way (1st week) in Among Us.

Pirate is the one evil role that town doesn't have to lynch. It has it's own win condition that requires beating 2 others at rock, paper, scissors. Pirate can side town or side evils. If town thinks pirate is going after other evils, they might leave them in. The same applies to other evils. If they (Coven or Apoc roles) don't feel targeted, they may leave the pirate be.
Looks like Fishburger never really listened to any of Bonzai's gun safety tips after all. Tragic

A few things to know about TOS 2:
1. The Ritualist/Doomsayer can guess a revealed player's role to town and still kill the revealed player.
2. You can tell what team each role belong to. If your role is in green, then you side with the town. Purple means Coven, Red for Apocalypse. Aside from Neutral Evil roles, kill everyone that is not in your color (team).
3. Descriptions for each faction:
Town: The good guys. Goal is to kill all evils in the game aside from Neutral Evil roles. Town must always have the majority vote because if they dont, they will lose the game.
Coven: A team of witches whose goal is to kill everyone who opposes them. They could do many things other than just killing like deceving town, getting information for the town and the list goes on. The Coven has a book called the Necronomicon that allows the holder to deal a basic attack to their target and be seen as innocent to sheriffs. Only one coven member can hold the book at the time and no other factions (not even their teammate traitor) can have this.
Apocalypse: A team whose goal is to being the apocalypse to the town. While they start off being the weakest force in the game, if they are left unchecked, they will become the most terrifying force in the game (even more than Neutral Killing roles) as they will transform into a horseman of the apocalypse (informed publicly to town) which can only be eliminated via lynching along with abilities that makes other evils claim their true role in an effort to weed the apocalypse out.
Neutral Evil: These roles do not go against anyone in the town as they have their own goals to complete. When they have succeed, they will essentially die in victory, ignoring which faction will win in the game. But they need to take care not to die at night or get lynched (other than the Jester as that's their win condition) as they will lose the game if they do.
Neutral Killing: Like with Neutral Evils, they work alone, except that Neutral Killing must eliminate everyone except their own kind (if they have multiple of them, unlike Coven/Apoc, they do not know each other). Usually they are the most capable killers such that they are able to kill multiple players in a single night. Because of their lone nature, they have Basic Defence so that they dont die to coven that easily.
Plaguebearer/Pestilence: As Plaguebearer, every night, infect a player with a plague. Infected players will unknowingly infect other players via their visits or being visited by an infected player. If all non apocalypse players are infected, he transforms into Pestilence. As pestilence, you turn your plague into a counter that kills them upon reaching 3 counters (cannot be protected against). These counters are gained by Pestilence visit, visiting someone, being visited by someone or visiting pestilence himself. Non-apoc players cannot have more than 1 counter.
Berserk/War: As Berserk, you are a straightforward killer that gets stronger by every kill. Upon 3 or more kills, you will become War that allows you to rampage unstoppably to your targets, killing visitors along with your target (cannot be protected against because you are stronger than the protection itself).
Baker/Famine: As baker, every night give a bread to a player. The bread itself has no effect other than making you transform into Famine when 3 alive players have bread. You will die from starvation if there are less than 4 remaining players as baker. As Famine, on the night after you transform, all non apoc players without bread will die from starvation (cannot be protected against). Players with bread will have additional 3 days to survive. At night, you get to starve a player, speeding up their starvation by 1 day (cannot be protected against).
Soul Collector/Death: Every night, you will gain a soul from the underworld. You can also get another soul by correctly guessing which non apoc player will die at night. Upon having 6 souls, you will transform into death. On the day that you are not lynched as Death, the game ends in apocalypse victory as all non apoc players are dealt an attack stronger than unstoppable.
Been wanting toast to play some tos2, glad for this to come out! Hoping for more!

I must admitt as someone with over 1000 hours in tos, at first i got so triggerd by what would be considerd misplays, but then i just enjoyed their learning experience it was a great video loved it can't wait to see if toast does more of this
