The Office is one of my favorites also. I watched it each week during the original run and then again on DVD when my wife was watching the entire series. It is a very rewatchable show and still funny each time.
Ordering it on amazon before it leaves Netflix. Physical media is necessary for the reason that streaming services just take it away from you without warning
I have never watched the office but since I saw memes of this show I wanted to check it out, haven't watched a single episode yet only parts on yt and I love it. I definitely will try to buy a complete box one day
nice, I’m planning to buy this because of the office leaving netflix for nbc’s Peacock streaming service that you have to pay for each episode. I’m actually still deciding between dvd and iTunes digital
Personally, I think this reissue is fine. It’s not amazing, but if you are looking to save shelf space, it does the job. But I would still recommend buying the seasons individually. Or just waiting until NBCUniversal cranks out a Blu-ray complete series.
I was just having a conversation with my brother about The Office and how it won't be on Netflix as of January 2021... that means we are just a few months away from it being removed. The ease of popping it on won't be there anymore. I have the free version of Peacock through X1, but I'm not paying another $4.99 to remove the ads. I just don't see the ease of using that platform compared to Netflix. I think I'm going to go out and spend $50 to get the full collection on DVD pretty soon. I have a feeling that all of these will be scooped up once the show leaves Netflix. You'd think they would release the Blu-ray Collection already, but NBC isn't stupid -- they are going to lock it behind their new service. That collection is coming anytime soon.
Thanks for the comment! It will be really strange not having it on Netflix. Aside from the set, we purchased the complete series on iTunes. It was not expensive, and it will be nice to have it digitally as well, to play on our phones or Apple TV when we want to go that route.
I bought this exact box set on eBay because it got taken off of Netflix and put on peacock but in order to watch the whole this you have to upgrade to peacock premium.
i don't have this DVD set yet, i'm watching it on Netflix, i will get it soon because the show is leaving Netflix, but to me the packaging for the discs is atrocious, they need to update it
Ya, it is not optimal packaging by any stretch of the imagination. I’m curious to see how the Blu Ray set is packaged that is releasing next month. My fear is that it will be more of the same. But we’ll see...
I just purchased this collection for $35 on Amazon, since the series is leaving Netflix soon. I got a good deal on it and can’t wait to get it in the mail, though that kinda stinks how they stacked the discs. In my experience that just makes it way too easy to scratch them unless you are SUPER careful.
That is a great deal on the series! Although the Blu Ray edition is available now (at a much steeper price at the moment). The disc stacking is not ideal, but it is manageable.
How much space does this take up on a shelf (for example how many normal DVD’s would I have to remove from my shelf in order for it to fit?). Edit: by the way are the DVD’s uncensored?
Ya. It is a substantial amount of discs. I would prefer the individual cases as well. But they have to cut costs to justify continued production on these sets. I’m happy to have it. :)
It’s widely available. I have the digital collection through Apple. They run great deals on it from time to time. I believe I only paid $30-$40 for the complete digital collection. That is more so that my wife can have access to it. I have the Blu Ray complete series and couldn’t be happier with it. Thanks for the comment!
Hi, I dunno if there's the same problem in the US of this but in the Region 2 (European) version of this set there's some sped up sound problems in which some of the characters sound like their on helium and just wanted to know how your copy of the complete set ran.
@@FilmCollectorArchive no problem, I'm from Ireland and the set I'm getting is a European box set of it from 2014 with those issues so you're probably good but it's just a caution sign
@@FilmCollectorArchive well I just got my boxset of the Office US complete series 1-9 and I can confirm it is a little high pitched but nothing too major and not as bad as others have said. Pretty good for £29.99 on sale on Amazon UK.
Is there any indication that there will be a blu ray complete series instead of individual seasons? I really want to watch it in HD and not have 38 discs!
There has been no indication that the individual seasons will be getting Blu Ray releases. There are a few seasons that already received Blu Ray releases years ago. I’m curious to see what packaging style the new set receives. I personally hope they are at least in individual cases for each season, and not the giant clamshell type case with the pullout tray that so many TV shows are receiving now. We’ll see...
I bought this set and the image quality is just so bad. Image basically looks like the graphics from Doom 2 game. Totally unwatchable when compared to HD versions. So i will be just looking at the deleted scenes. Also the english subtitles look jagged and barely readible. There needs to be a bluray release of this at some point.
@@FilmCollectorArchive Cool, I prefer the orginal resoultion because It makes me feel as if i was watching it from the time it was released. No Blueray, etc. Thanks for responding
