Hi Tom, neat new toy, I mean tool 😁. Looks like it will be used a lot. Since it has the right type of plug for this side of the pond (Virginia, U.S.A.)👍it will be easier for me to set up. I like the open frame, as I could build a box structure in which I could have an adjustable platform to put turning projects on to burn in a maker’s mark. I see a lot of possibilities. Thanks. Thanks Tom, I'm looking forward to making a box around it. I'm thinking of having a sliding dovetail bottom, that can slide out with adjustable legs on the side of the box to raise it up so I can engrave my bowls 😁 I hope you have a lovely Christmas 🎄
Interesting stuff! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm pondering a CNC router/laser cutter, and this looks pretty good, if a bit too big for my needs. Maybe they'll release a smaller version in future!
It is really easy to use, used it the other day to make a engraved chopping board for my sisters wedding 😁 to fit a uk plug, I just uses an old laptop lead the half with the plug on it unplugged the American plug from the lead that came with the laser cutter and plugged in the UK lead into the power supply box that connects to the laser cutter 😁
Thanks for your comment Jesse 😁 yes you can insert shapes, they have a load of preset shapes on laser box that are really easy to cut/engrave, it also has a text tool so you can type in anything you want to engrave or cut out, I've been using it to create card stencils this week 😁 I hope this helps.

Hi. very interesting piece. I do have a question.though. Does a transfer of a photo from my file to this X-tool work in the same way as in a transfer from a file to say Facebook or Instagram?
Hi Roger, it works on the same principle, you select a photo you want to upload to the CAD software and the software automatically converts it so you can engrave the image. It take all the hard work out of playing with the settings 😁 I hope this helps 👍
@@thewelshwoodman649 .Just to let you know.I was over at my sons place and he just got one of these machines. I can say the christening went well. He has a whole bunch of my cutting boards and he burning a whole bunch of stuff on them. But thanks for the rep;y. so far we aare not dissapointed in the machine. Thanks again.

Looks amazing, was it as simple as changing the plug over to uk plug?

Really nice thorough review, you make it look easy. using laserbox is it possible to insert a shape engrave text and then cut out the shape ?
